This is a channel devoted to Jeeps and new/beginning-level Jeeperz. I am in no way a high-end skilled fabricator, I am simply a backyard mechanic sharing the knowledge I have gained over my years working on Jeeps, wheeling with friends, and maybe some poor choices. I may even learn a thing or two along the way.

Pictures and videos from Bantam's 10th Anniversary in Butler PA This video certainly does not do the event justice as this is only what we were able to capture during and between our duties as volunteers. The Moraine Trail will very likely be closed to Jeeps after this event. There was no wrongdoing, simply because it was so popular, it gets very worn and the Commonwealth has suspended the use ...

JKS Control Arm Kit for 2013 JK
Переглядів 2,3 тис.4 роки тому
So you lifted your Jeep and love it, but it feels like it’s wandering all over the place and you feel every bump in the road. The installation of the JKS Control Arm Bracket Kit could be your answer. These are 7 gauge steel, fully boxed and welded and are going to correct your pinion and still correct your caster but allow you to use those factory control arms. As sort of a fringe benefit, you'...
Rugged Ridge Rocker Protectors 2013 JK

The previously installed Barricade Rock Sliders had a bit of an unfinished look to them and the rockers needed some protection from damage caused by wayward toes, so I installed these Rugged Ridge Rocker Protectors from Extreme Terrain. I love the look and they are super easy to install, although they could be priced a bit better as they are plastic and mostly cosmetic. www.extremeterrain.com/r...
Barricade Rock Sliders for 2013 Wrangler

So the side steps on my JK were looking rough and were rusting from the inside out. I've maintained them for a while by stripping them down and re coating them each year, and the time has come to replace them. I checked around and considering price, durability and mounting, I decided to go with the Barricade Sliders. These will be useful as a step without sacrificing ground clearance and they d...

Repairing a Leaky Windshield on the Jeep Comanche
Did the lights ang gauged still come on strong ?
it did have power, just click if I remember right. BTW, I am still running the new battery from this video
Thank you this help a lot
just ordered. thanks.
Did you experience any overheating when you had oil in the coolant?
I did not. I believe this was discovered during routine maintenance.
I know this is an older video, but does the truck sit high in the rear?
Butler where?
Butler PA
What can I do if the plunger won’t budge even if I am pressing the button
Nice. This will help me out with my MJ projects.
Yep, helped me out. Got the key lock cylinder replaced. One thing I did different though was I went head and bought the tool. There was enough play in the steering shaft that every time I pushed down on the clip, the shaft also went down. Tool was $16 and made the job SUPER easy.
I just received the exact flares and I only looked at the review stars and not the individual accounts. I have only started on the rears and the alignment is pretty bad. I’ve heard some people say the passenger side has better alignment than the drivers side. Question- does the rubber seal go on both edges, inner and outer? Thanks and great video👍
How are you going to make a video and not actually show wtf you do
thanks for watching, I enjoyed your channel also. Your playlist of 1 video shows how much you love making videos.
How long was the mid pipe you cut?
don't remember, but it was longer so that the exhaust will fit a 4 door
@@Big.Jeeper I just did mine today 2012 2 door and it ended up 11.5 inches. Thanks for the help!
So I’m planning on doing this exhaust on my ‘16 JK Sport, when you say 11.5” is that how much you’re measuring/cutting off? Thanks again
Well I just took mine to the shop and after I told him what was wrong with it they told me there's no way and that's what's wrong with it but they told me I had to replace all my hoses because oil seeps into the rubber And they need to do a acid flush
I agree, replacing the old oil-soaked hoses is the best way and the flush will prevent the oil buildup on the inner works of you cooling system.
And 2000$ later uuugh..
Those injectors are a pain to remove. Especially the passenger side. You could just grab a hold of them with your fingers, must add to the equation is a set of angle picks to pull those injector plugs, especially if they never been removed before, some were melted in place due to weather conditions, and normal engine running.
Hope I find part 2 ?
Any differences for a straight drive ?
I was glad to see this cause I have a pioneer Metric ton with the Dana44 and trakLok. I don't see why we wouldn 't just hang the axle over the springs which would ( haven't measured it yet) lift it pretty close to the 4 1/2" amount. I don't like underslung. Comment?? Dandahermit.
ok
You can spread those bracket tabs with a large bolt n nut inside to use as a spreader.
I hope your next video on the rear axle comes next cause I wanna see how you deal with this underslung axle cause looks to me like mounting the axle under the springs will lift this much. My axle is the Metric ton option Dana44.
😕
What company's kit is this?? RC ??
Rusty's
The valve cover you cut 1in from the bafual then a hole on one or both now (why) .?
Thanks for the detailed list in the description. I'm doing this on my 2012 very soon, your video was useful. I like your little ladder setup, lifted Jeeps are great for getting to stuff underneath but not so good for crawling around the engine bay. I use one of those little metal folding chairs for mine.
what brand did you use?
Where did you get the patches from?
I don't recall, but they were patches for a Cherokee. I couldn't find them for the Comanche.
So was that the problem? I have oil in my coolant but no issues with the engine running.
Yep, it is a part known to fail that should be replaced, certainly more cost-effective than a blown head gasket. You can upgrade to a 2006 part which is more durable I found out about it after replacing mine. Then you need to use the 06 filter.
@@Big.Jeeper I have a 2018 JL Unlimited with this issue.
I'm not sure if i want the shop to fix it or do it myself.
@@laferj317 It will likely cost between 1500-2500 at a shop.
Dàmn music ruined it for me.
I noticed how nice your channel is...
@@Big.Jeeper lmfao. Well played. everyone has a critique these days.
Damn that sounds good. Mine comes in tomorrow. Can’t wait. I wonder if you started with the intake. Anyways thanks for the vid
Thanks bud! Super helpful 👌
So the speakers in the dash and sound bar are the same size? Just asking so I can put in an order for 4 of them total.
Yes
Why did u put on the old model. Should have upgraded to the '14 and above model with the new filter design.
I know, right? Maybe next time.
How are these fenders holding up? Are you still happy with them? Thanks!
I changed mine out last night and I don't know who the engineer was behind this but they need a good swift kick in the a$$ .lol
bump stops just pop in?
I believe the front screw in? I really don't recall.
Thanks for the video!!! Seems like a pain in the a$$ to install, but the results are great!
Installed this on my 2013 after I had a 2" spacer lift. The difference in ride over road bumps was great, stopped wandering. Great bang for the buck !
What speakers did you use from Amazon that were a direct replacement. Oh by the way that was a very nice video. Also gave me some things to look for in the buzzing sound of my sound bar. Thanks
Hi. Where did you buy your cable? I have an 86 & can not find the correct cable. Rock Auto has a 57" cable for it but when mine is out it measures 64 1/2". Thank you!
If you read the description there is a link from AutoZone where I purchased the cable.
@@Big.Jeeper Thank you!!!
What JKS doesn't tell you: these brackets are a bolt-on for 07-14 JKU'S. For 2015-2018 JKU'S you're going to have to cut the passenger side upper mount to "clearance" these, at which point you're stuck with them for life. I returned these on account of this because I didn't want to be permanently attached to them. These are a $200 part which exists purely to try and avoid buying the correct $800 part, but they are NOT bolt-on for ALL JKU'S as JKS claims.
I did not know that. Thanks for your very useful info. I don't regret putting them on as they did improve the handling. However, I am considering a long arm setup. in the near future.
Nice!!! What back spacing do those wheels have?
NICE JOB👍LOVE THE WAY YOU PUT YOUR "SWEAT" INTO YOUR "PYPES"👊
don’t happen to know what bump stops you used do you?
I am currently going through this now. My fluid was a lot more thick and gunky. It overheated for the first time ever and when I popped the hood I could see there was oil in my radiator. I replaced the whole cooling system from the water pump to hoses, thermostat and radiator. I flushed twice so far with engine flush and it’s still getting hotter than it’s supposed to before I cut it off (because I don’t want to overheat it again) how many times do you think I need to flush it before the temperature levels out to normal?
if you are getting flow thru the entire cooling system you should be good. You may be having issues with air, and need to burp the system. It takes a while for the heater core to get all the air worked out, I had to pull one of the heater hoses and add coolant there to get it out.
Is the process the same for an 88 Comanche?
I'm pretty sure they all had the GM steering columns.
My Odyssey Extreme lasted like 1.5 years. 🤦🏼♂️
I was flabbergasted by this install

Eyeballing these. I'd hard finding someone to talk about barricade other then extreme terrain (that owns barricade). So unbiased reviews are needed
Great video, so i chenged mine out a couple of years ago because i had a leak like you said i thought it was my rear seal. I was checking my fluids yesterday and come to find out that theres oil in my coolant not sure if im dealing with a bad head gasket or its this thing how did it go for your jeep did that solve your problem?
It did, but unfortunately, the part was a cheap knockoff and went bad after a year and a half. Be sure to spend the extra money and use quality parts.
"We do it nice because we do it twice"?
Super helpful video! Thanks for uploading!
I can’t get a clear spec on the torque for the oil cooler housing. I broke one bolt and stripped the hole on the number 2 bolt hole. I have heard 106 inch lbs, and 35 inch lbs I set my wrench to 106 and broke and stripped bolts. The torque felt excessive for so small of a bolt but I was doing what I throughly was right. I got the broken bolt out easily but try to figure out about bolt hole 2 I lost.
How it’s holding up so far my friend thinking about getting this one., does it leaks inside
Seals up as good as the Bestop brand. In severe weather, it has a slight leak at the passenger door. I've always had that leak, I believe it is a bad door seal, just warped not torn. The best part is the window storage.
