Fuhh besar..
I like the trick of keeping a dose of beans in the bottom cup of the grinder.
I would love one but they are so damn expensive.
Indeed they are expensive, perhaps check out the Hobie Lynx users group on Facebook as there are some really good second hand deals now and then.
That is absolutely awesome! I can’t wait to get the Bixpy for my Megalodon 3! I love how you set yours up! Bad to the bone bro
Thanks for your positive comment.
Si puo’ mettere anche al n12?
No, it will NOT work with the N12. Only works with N8 and N10 slim.
Nasi mana 😂
Tak nak makan nasi la, nasi mengemukakan. Satu mangkuk nasi bersamaan dengan dua Coca cola.
Muka dia tu x boleh bla😂😂

awesome video, such a unique boat..! if you dont mind sir, what is the length of your amas? its height (from floor to top ama) and width? tysm! for the info.
Hi, you can check out the specs from Hobie's official website.
I was about to buy one of those but carrying two knives just to have a fork and a knife seems inferior, compared to a spork
Yes indeed a spork might be more convenient. However depending on the cuisine, you might need a knife too. E.g. When having a steak meal. But if you're really aiming for ultralight packing, then perhaps you could just do with one knife and one fork if you're willing to use the fork short without the knife handle.
WOW
Any issues with steering having the motor mounted off to the side of the rudder?
Turning radius wouldn't be as good as without the bixpy. And there is a slight difficulty turning right because of the offset. So what I did was to point the bixpy slighty to the right to try to solve the steering bias. This set up does make a difference but it's not perfect. However, I'm happy to live with it as it does not require a seperate steering mechanism to complicate things. As long as you are using your bixpy to get from point A to B, and not relying on it to do precision manouvers, then you wouldn't need a seperate steering mechanism. I typically use the bixpy to cover long distances and when I reach the destination, I would just lift up the motor and rely on the mirage drive and rudder for precision steering.
any issues with control having the motor mounted to the side of the rudder??
Yes. If the motor is mounted at an angle at 0°, then there would be a slight tendency for the lynx to veer to one side. Steering would also be slightly biased to one side. My bixpy is mounted to starboard of my rudder and therefore the bias is towards the left ( ie. It veers ever so slightly to the left and turning right is more difficult compared to turning left.) To correct this issue, what I did was to angle the bixpy a few degrees to the right which then makes the bixpy track absolutely straight and corrects the turning bias. (Yes, there is still a left bias but I'm still able to turn right reasonably well with this set up) It's not a perfect solution and if one is anal about symmetry and achieving zero bias, then one would have to install a steering system for the bixpy. But in my case, I bought the lynx to complement my PA14360 powered by a torqeedo 1103ac with a steering system installed. So the lynx was meant as a lightweight alternative to the Pro Angler for times when I want to keep things simple and easy. So, a slight issue with steering bias and steering accuracy doesn't bother me. For the lynx, lightweight and simplicity matters more than the slight loss of steering agility.
Well said. You could mount in the drive which is centered
Just got the knife with spoon and fork attachments. Real value for money. Great quality. 👍
Glad you like your purchase.
I am trying to convince my wife to let me get one of these for the kids. This isn't helping!
Hi Scott, every watersport comes with its risks. If you go kayaking or sailing, you will definitely get wet and sooner or later experience a capsize. Mishaps happen all the time at sea and more important than prevention is knowing what to do when the inevitable happens. Sometimes, no matter how much precaution you take, mother nature will have a way to beat your preparation. If I were you, I wouldn't shy away from getting a Lynx for your kids. Just ensure that you put them through a safety course so they know what to do when something (touch wood) untoward happens. It beats having your kids stuck at home glued to the computer or game console 24/7!!
At what speed do you run on average, and how's the battery life. It's hard to find accurate numbers. Thanks for the help
Hi Dave, I usually use the torqeedo as an assist to my Mirage pedal drive. So I've probably got the torqeedo running at 100 watts and the rest of the work is done by my legs. I probably get between 3 to 4 mph with light Pedalling assisted by the torqeedo. After a whole days fishing, I would still have at least 50% battery left. (50% battery is for emergencies incase I get a cramp or need to get back to shore fast.)
Take a look at Jeff Little's video where the range figures are displayed in the video around time stamp 9:15. I would agree that those figures are pretty much the same as what I'm getting. ua-cam.com/video/rc0r5rSqdy4/v-deo.htmlsi=ZPcsaOwdBabh79A8
😅the ending is the best part for sure
Yes indeed. It was a blistering hot day and I really needed a dunk to cool down 😂. But seriously, the Lynx is extremely stable. You just need to know when to furl the sail to ensure you don't capsize. In this video, I was sailing in about 3 feet of water and just testing how far I could push it. So it's really not representative of the actual stability of the Lynx.
Can you show how you clean duossal pan? Is it stressful after all that food to clean the pan or pots?
Hi, good question 😬. If your duossal is in good condition and still has a smooth and polished surface, then cleaning is as simple as scraping as much solids off and then boiling clean water in it for about 5 minutes. That should loosen any stubborn remnants and washing up liquid with a sponge should suffice. I also have on standby some magic sponge for the extra stubborn stuff.
Looks like a good time!
Yes the lynx with the Hobie sailkit is awesome.
cun! kena buat lagi
Harap geng Kuantan ada jemput kita lagi sekali. Rindu live bait trolling di Port Kuantan ini.
Cool!
Yes indeed.. It's an awesome piece of kit.
Geram plak nengok hahhaha
Beli beli... Dengar khabar stock baru sampai awal bulan September.
capsizing in light wind is totally predictable. there's no force to resist overturning
It's a kayak and not a sailboat. Nevertheless, the sail can be furled to help reduce the chances of capsize. However if one needs extra insurance, then Hobie sells a pair of outrigger which will greatly reduce the risk of capsize : www.amazon.com/Hobie-Sidekick-part-number-72062101/dp/B003OYDD4Y
So cool didn’t even know this sort of thing existed.
Check out Hobie Kayaks here : www.hobie.com/kayaks/
It's fun and it saves us some legwork energy on the Pedals. Makes kayaking even more exciting.
Oiiiii when want to buy for me 😂
🤪
Very cool picknick set indeed
Yes indeed.
looks tipsy, thnx for posting
Nah, it's far from tipsy, I was just having fun and doing all sorts of stupid stuff coz the drone was filming me 😂
@@spotben ahh :) thnx
nice drone flying
Thanks. The drone footage was by a friend who does it commercially. Link : youtube.com/@cinedronesfpv4843
does NOT fit the #8 Garden Knife, you can lift the blade and get it in but I fear strain on the wood when it is fastened the clippy thing that is supposed to hold the spoon & fork together need rethinking, mine does NOT stay clipped only reason I got this is because it is unusual
Yes it does not fit the No8 Garden Knife. Here's what opinel says about their opinel cutlery set : *Fork and spoon inserts compatible with all wooden handled No.08 folding knives equipped with the Virobloc® safety ring, circa 2000. Picnic+ inserts are intended to be used ONLY on non-altered Opinel No.08 wood handle knives. Picnic+ inserts are not compatible with No.08 Slim knives and No.08 Gardening knife. www.opinel-usa.com/products/picnic-insert-set However, although Opinel doesn't mention it, I have found that it connects perfectly to the Opinel Slimline No10 as the collar of the Virobloc is exactly the same as that of the the Classic No8.
This is stupid. 30 seconds in. Not the right tools for the job. Wrong type of sail. No keel.
dumbest damn thing Hobie could ever do, what do sailboats need to stay upward "a long keel" !
Wow, fun time :)
Indeed. Thanks for visiting.
What sail rig type is used on the Hobie PA 14? Obviously it’s not a Hobie sail system, because that heavyweight PA is having no problem keeping up with, I’m assuming is, a Hobie Revolution, lol!
Hi, sorry for the late reply. The other kayak is a Hobie Island. The PA14 can keep up only in light winds. Once it starts blowing, the Hobie Island leaves the PA behind. The sail is a Giant Star sail by starkayaksails.com/. Beautifully made sail by a guy by the name of Bill Pain in Australia. The size is around double the surface area of a standard Hobie Kayak sail which is much needed to push the brute of a PA14 kayak along.
Looking good. Need to add a Hobie Tandem Island sailing kayak to your fleet!
Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/tqt4I8y_09A/v-deo.html
Ha, looking good...... Recommend the TI ;-) Very hard to tip over the TI.....
Yes indeed 👍🏼
If you aint tipping, you aint learning
@@chrisE815 True....I have tipped my TI over a few times....in the surf....a bit exciting!
@@seewind have you tried using a light weight sea anchor / drogue trailing from the stern to assist your TI from getting washed sideways coming down the surf? I think in theory it should work but I would ensure there is a quick release to hastily untie it should anything go wrong.
