It"s hard to believe that Purcell wrote such a jubilant music in an England ravaged by 150 years of political and religious war, by a plague that killed between 75,000 and 100, 000 people, finally eradicated by a fire that destroyed half of the city... and that, although he did not lose 14 of his children like JS Bach did, he nonetheless died at 26 of tuberculosis after heavy sufferings... Respect Monsieur Purcell, you're music is still enlightening our lives and telling us to stop complain and moan about everything like spoiled children.

Complimenten voor Pieter, maar ook voor Evan en Beniamino. Dat wordt dus kijken naar een optreden bij jullie bovenburen, groeten uit Nederland.

The most beautiful version I've heard, unlike any other. I felt like I was watching a bird in various scenarios. Also, playing a Baroque flute at the tempo of the third movement is a feat in itself!

This is a German composer (who I never heard of before), but sounds quite similar to Vivaldi.

I have previously seen claviorgan videos in which the manuals play harpsichord strings and the pedalboard play the organ pipes or regals, but this is the first time I have seen one in which the lower manual plays organ pipes and the upper manual plays harpsichord strings.

Wow this lady kills it on both Oboe and Recorder. My two favorite baroque instruments.
