Way too much fantasy here. But I did write a novel.

Fallout New Vegas - Why Cesar's Legion is Great
Переглядів 13 тис.10 місяців тому
Cesar's Legion is a great faction. Not because of their honesty, ingenuity, or uncorrupt leadership. No, they're great because they don't apologize for how bad they are. The Cord of Bue is available on Amazon here: www.amazon.com/Cord-Bue-T-J-Marcus/dp/1696456509/ref=sr_1_1?crid=11F2IGZHQW9PE&keywords=The Cord of Bue&qid=1703645712&sprefix=the cord of bue,aps,138&sr=8-1 Twitter: @T_J_Marcus
Curie is literally programmed to do good with principles and rules literally programmed into her that are those of a doctor (in addition to her Nanny programming). You can't get more procedural than that. So she is absolutely not neutral when it comes to following rules and principles, especially since she keeps saying she does it for science and especially for the good of humanity, not to mention the rejection she gets when our character makes bad comments or acts badly with other people or the compassion she felt for her fellow scientists in the hidden area of the shelter (they didn't put themselves in their closet/coffin). How can she be neutral when she is practically the very personification of rigor and goodness? The worst part of all this is that we could have explained that you put her in neutral if she was just following her program without any free will, but that is nevertheless the whole point of her adventure to demonstrate that she has forged her own personality just as she has gotten closer to humans by ardently wanting to change her body. And Deacon? It's not because Deacon is an inveterate mythomaniac that he doesn't have his rules that he follows to perfection. The fact of always lying is already rigor in itself. This guy is a spy at heart. He is the one who follows the most principles of the entire rail network. He continues to lie even outside of service hours (if I may say so) because he cares so much about his mission and controls his life. He says it himself and I'm sure it's one of his rare moments of truth, he gets facial surgery every year for his job. It's not because he's difficult to understand that it makes him someone chaotic because it's precisely this rigor in his behavior that gives us this uncertainty. This guy must have a daily routine at least as strict as that of Paladin Dance to act as he does and to master all the characters he plays with such nonchalance and it is this nonchalance in addition to his mythomania that makes us believe in someone unstable when it is not the case, quite the contrary.
This is something I wish would be changed in Fo4. In Fo3 you had characters that had their own morals. Fawkes was good karma and would refuse to be your companion if you were evil or even neutral. And Butch would only join you if you were neutral. And my favourite, Jericho. Will only join if your evil. Everyone in Fo4 gets pissy if you do anything evil. (Except automations you make) Dunno if Gage is evil.
They wasted so much potential by making X6 a generic bad guy. He lacks the scientific mindset and utilitarian morality that I would expect from an Institute character. He could have been a darker version of Curie, equally inquisitive and perhaps even well-intentioned, but willing to do bad things for a higher purpose, living by the words of Spock ("the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"). He would also make a great tragic character, a slave with the sole purpose of serving people who consider him barely more than a disposable machine. His character arc could have been like that of Connor in DBH, depending on player choices, at max affinity he might end up staying a machine slave or going "deviant" and embracing his personhood.
Curie is Lawful Good, perhaps even more so than Preston. She has a strict moral code and hates violence (you will frequently hear her say so in combat, even when fighting objectively bad people like Raiders). She also dislikes it when you are being rude in dialogue, similar to Codsworth. As a medical robot, we can assume she was programmed with something like the Hippocratic Oath at the core of her value system. While she is consistently curious and passionate about science, she also opposes people using science to harm others, even if they are doing so for a nominally noble goal. (Like the intended purpose of her native Vault 81...)
"uNaLiVe" Can we please keep this dumbаss algospeak confined to Tiktok
While we're all impatient sociopaths in games and hate Preston for being himself, if we lived in the wasteland Preston would be the friend we all want to have. He is the perfect lawful good character who avoids the trappings of lawful stupid, he would guide others in the direction of good just by being a positive presence. 100% this man is a treasure.
Hancock is difficult, he's chaotic, but he's lawful in his chaos. A lack of principles IS his principle, and he will fight for his ideals while his ideals are the lack of ideals.
Dogmeat smiling at me stockpiling bodies in sanctuary.
This entire video is just wrong on so many things. They use firearms all the time, they treat certain tribes differently depending on their strategic value, they ally with the Boomers to gain air superiority, they try to make a deal with the Van Graffs to get energy weapons, they changed their tactics from attacking in waves by experience to fighting in mixed squads, they try to fix the artillery piece to counter the snipers, they use deception numerous times throughout the game instead of their traditional direct assaults. There's probably some smaller details I missed but the point is pretty clear, the Legion changed and adapted their tactics while the NCR stayed the same. Also if the Legion is evil because of their brutality then so is every person who plays New Vegas. We all gain some enjoyment out of brutality killing enemies for fun
That sounds like something Ceasar would say...
wish we would get a Remaster with all legion cut content it would breathe more life into the the mysterious legion
A remastered would be beautiful. With Bioware and Bethesda now being under the Microsoft Umbrella, it may be possible.
I want to see the a new Fallout with a new leader for the legion: Octavian!
I always thought of Curie as Lawful Good.
I can see that. Since she's experiencing so much of the world, I saw her as very open minded about things. She did have her own set of principles, though.
That's because she is the most Lawful Good character in the game
I consider Strong not all evil. He does respect you when helping people, but he sure got a lot of negatives. Like hating when you hack or even lockpick. There is no pleasing the big guy most of the time.
Did you do thr dlc companions
Cait is probably just evil, shes pretty ready and willing to expoit and murder, at least if im remembering her mass effect dialog interjections right
I'd disagree somewhat with strong being chaotic evil In terms of evil, he is either indifferent to others or generally means them harm, so I agree that he is evil In terms of chaotic, he has few principles, however he does have a strong sense of brotherhood. He believes in the superiority of super mutants, but also speaks often of super mutants helping each other. If you win him over, he promises to follow you always. Not exactly what I would call lawful behaviour, but there is some lawful element to it. I would put him in neutral evil, personally
If Selflessness can be Evil, is everything you need to know about X6.
Unless you're dealing with a Frumentarii
i'd have put nick at lawful neutral b/c he really doesn't give a crap if you kill skinny outright. job was done. "bad" guy eliminated as per justice
They are all very needy! Codsworth is the Best
I do like these companion alignment chart videos, can’t wait for the fallout 3 companion alignment chart video
Only thing I would really change is that I'd say that Hancock is probably True Neutral, having some guiding principles he needed to establish, to really become a mayor of Goodneighbour
Curie at neutral good? Out of everyone, she’s the one who needs to be in lawful good. Curie will even call you out on looting, calling that a crime
Preston is a Gloryhound. Somehow everyone knows him as the face of the Minutemen while YOU, THE PLAYER, takes care of any issues. He is a false friend in my opinion that chases glory and recognition. Where to put him? I personally wa t to put him in Chaotic Good (wanted to say True Neutral at first) based on that, but there is more nuansce (spelling?) to it. Thoughts on that?
Nah, he seems very genuine, but also depressed (he reveals suiсidal thoughts if you reach high affinity). It is surprising that only two companions (Preston and Cait) are implied to have mental health problems, considering the world they live in. If anything Preston's problem seems to be that he kind of hates himself, the exact opposite of seeking glory and recognition.
X6-88 and strong are switched places.
X6 is one of the most interesting companions in the Fallout series as a whole, the absolute reverence for his creators and disregard for his own life makes him probably the saddest follower even compared to Lily from Jacobstown. Danse is both the opposite and mirror image of X6, both are extremely loyal to their respective faction's with the former going so far as to be hostile to you if you destroy the Prydwen after Blind Betrayal, I think Danse could be reasonably placed anywhere on the Lawful side depending on how you see him and the Brotherhood as a whole.
He reminds me a bit of Weyoun from Star Trek DS9, being a tool/slave with absolute loyalty to creators who consider him disposable/worthless. A tragic and interesting character trope that is almost never explored beyond the surface.
@@wasserruebenvergilbungsvirus they do explore him beyond the surface, I wouldn't have brought him up if they didn't.
Cait, Hancock & McCready are my go to trio.
is this click bait? lol
Just like all the factions, they are all good except the raiders. Gage, handcock, arguably Strong and X6 are the morally grey/evil characters. Bethesda doesn't do so well with making evil factions/companions in my opinion. To be fair tho, Fallout NV really doesn't have any evil companions. Fallout 3 had probably the best assortment of companions when it comes to outright good and evil companions. I love Fallout 3, 4, and NV. But I feel Fallout 4 railroads you into being a good guy with good guy companions. Atleast until they got tired of people bitching and made nuka world lol.
Fallout 3 (at least the main story) railroads you WAY more into being good. There is only one main faction of Lawful Good paladins you can join, and the only given choice contrary to that is poisoning the water supply at the very end of the game because a computer told you so. Compared to that, Fallout 4 (for all its flaws) was a major step up. New Vegas does it best of course, to the point that (well, other than the Legion...) there is no clearly good or evil faction.
@wasserruebenvergilbungsvirus I see you point. But think about New vegas companions. You got Boone (NCR and pretty morally good/innocent), Cass (NCR, Morally good/innocent but with a bit of a temper), Arcade Gannon (Followers, Morally good but born in the Enclave) Raul (Morally good, but the only humanoid companion other than Lilly that doesn't hate the legion) Lilly (Not really morally evil, just schizophrenic). Rex and EDE are both non humanoid so they really don't have a moral compass. Rex kinda does depending on the brain you give him but not really. The arguably only two companions in NV that could be considered evil is Dean in dead money and Joshua Graham in honest hearts but Joshua is more or less reformed. Fallout New vegas has less variety in companions than Fallout 4 or Fallout 3. Better written companions for sure, but Karam just doesn't factor into new vegas that much other than slide shows. Kinda disappointing.
Awesome I love finding people that make their own stuff! I'm getting that book lol
I'm sorry but preston is the commonwealths trash
You don't deserve him.
If it wasn't for the sole survivor he would be dead
Skibidi toilet is the best apocalyptic world
Clicked off this video the second you said fucking paladin danse was the "best" "coolest" and "most principaled" character in Fallout "hands down" brotherhood little bitch boy 💀💀 danse is a shit character lmfao, if you didnt see the twist he was a synth youre just as stupid as the Bethesda writers
Good video, maybe gods of algorithm bless your channel one day. Good luck
Dogmeat -- at least my dogmeat was chaotic evil "Hey go over there" *Turns a diamond city denizen into chew toy*
True to Caesar.
Harold isnt a Ghoul he was affected by the FEV just he was turned into a ghoul-like being
What I like about Caesar is the fact that you can tell that he genuinely cares about others, even if he sucks at showing it.
NCR AND PROUD ! RATHER DIE AS A FREE TAX PAYING MAN THN AS A SLAVE NCR FOR EVER LEGION NEVER
House is the closest character I think of being the closest to the God Emperor of Mankind. Arrogant, yes. But both have the skills and track records to back up thier claims, and both genuinely wanted to save humanity from the brink of destruction and have planned and done many things to bring our species back to its former glory. Even when both innevitably lost and have contracted a minor inconvenience called death, one still thinks of the future of Humanity while the other used his corpse to help humanity, even if he knows thats its just slowing the innevitable.
Being an old school D&D player, I found this video very interesting thanks for using the alignment system that was very informative
Let’s kill this one -strong
Valentine is the dad we should all have.
I LOVE apocalyptic worlds and movies! then I watched The Road. It's the saddest movie, hands down. Every part of me wanted to stop watching, it was so sad. But the story is very compelling once you jump in and couldn't go unresolved. Plus, I can't do that to Viggo. I love that movie so much, I wouldn't recommend watching it 😅
First video where I actually agree with the results 😂
Technically, Interstellar is a post apocalyptic movie.
Nuh uh
It would be logical if Courier introduced Yes Man to House in his ending. Like, here's this self learning AI that you can probably teach to continue your work after your eventual death. Mortality problem solved, although it's a bit scary to leave humanity's future in the hands of a machine.
House’s point on Democracy is flawed. The Great War was due to resources not ideologies. You also have to consider that China was still a Communist state, and the USSR didn’t dissolve in the FO universe, so again, not a failure of democracies. Then lastly, the US during the final years of the war was hardly a democracy it was a military dictatorship.
Within the context of the game, the end of the world came under democracies watch, and communisms. I think in the world of Fallout, the argument for a dictator like Mr. House is valid. Someone like him can prevent another great war. IF he has the power, of course.
I play the succession theme song on my headphones while doing Mr. House runs
A man of quality...
Not here to moralize *any* arguments but New Vegas is in kind of a wierd spot when it comes to their ability to be satisfactorily absorbed into the Legion. Their skills are mostly dirivitive of all that Caesar's order™️ opposes. Actual farmers, merchants, and soldiers sure but Vegas offers chemists, pimps and mercenaries
