5 Crochet Patterns for Halloween Costumes
Just finished a scrape blanket and still have so much scrapes still left
They're easy to collect but harder to use up!
Cute!
Thank you!
The delicate floral mug on top of skull coaster 😂❤
😂 Constant internal battle between skulls and flowers over here!
I liked hearing your thoughts on coming trends, so I subscribed. Thank you! One thing I found interesting was how you mentioned 3D printing being a trend for tools and gadgets. That's a great tip! Thx! One thing I noticed is you mispronounced amigurumi. It's not an easy word. I practiced it for a long while before I got it, lol. Maybe this will help: Ah-mee-goo-room-ee. It's 5 syllables with the accent being on the fourth syllable. Thanks again for your channel! Have a blessed week 😊
Thanks for subscribing! I really appreciate it. 😊
you might want to also slow your talking down just a bit. coming from a retired trainer!
I appreciate the feedback! I'll keep that in mind when recording future videos. 😊
can you UP your volume ? It's hard to hear you !
Thanks for the feedback. I actually just ordered a mic a couple of days ago, so I'm hoping that will help.
Our Joann’s has at least 6 aisles of yarn right now. It blew my mind compared to the 1/3 aisle at Walmart. It was fun to browse. Thanks for mentioning the 3d printing items. We have one and never thought of using to up my crochet game.
That's awesome you have a 3d printer! They look like so much fun. 😍
Ohhhhh that skull coaster bowl is CUTE!
Isn't that fun?? I had to make it when I saw it from Fayni Toys.
I crochet so I don't have to wear what others think is trending... I mean really? Slow fashion. When ur ready the trend is gone 😆 If anyone says about my crochet 'thats so outdatet' or anything like it, I'll lose it completely. 🤣🙈 Do what U guys think is pretty and cool, and nothing else please 💟
I agree. I don't think just because something is trending or not should sway people from what they want to make.
Love the simplicity of this design! Well done :)
Thanks for watching! 😊
THESE ARE LOVELY!! Such a quick perfect project to get into the 2025 work flow :)
Totally! 🙌
Agree with your trending for 2025. Think Tunisian hype was done mid-year 2024. Been amazed at how long granny squares have lasted at the forefront. You are right that those "specialty" squares will be able to keep the granny going for a while longer. Oversized amigurimi is already heading out the door in the US Twin Cities area. It was popular a couple of years ago and you could tell by the craft sales last year that is was on the downtrend. I do like the idea of using chunky yarn for bags and will be trying that. As for using stash, my sister-in-law gets all my leftovers for charity projects. Think with the 2024 tariffs in the US, yarn price is going to rise quickly and we will be happy to usr our stash. My stash is all down as kits for future afghans for donation. Keep up the good work and your art.
Donating your leftovers towards charity is awesome!
Stash busting made my first granny square cardigan. It was so fun and everyone waves at me when I wear it.
That's the perfect make for a stash bust! 😍
Love everything my resolution is to finish each month project that started❤
I love that resolution!
Loved this video!! I TOTALLY agree with the stash busting vs yarn hoarding trend! Especially living in a post pandemic world I think people are way more conscious of how they consume! I myself felt quite convincted to clean up my wip piles and only buy yarn when I need it for a project that I’m starting haha
Yes! I'm doing the same thing with projects and yarn.
Love your trend thoughts and your energy!! Cannot wait for more videos!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Love your work. However, and this is just me, but i don’t care for the skull coaster set. In my mind Halloween is not holiday. On the other side of the coin, I love the cardigan you made for your daughter is just too adorbs.
Thank you! And I totally understand. Halloween is not everyone's cup of tea. 😊
Using three or four skeins to make study bags, but also to bust my stash
That's smart!
Although this is a very good video, it would have been better to use a lighter color instead of the navy, it was very hard to see.
Thank you for the feedback! I'll be sure to consider that in future tutorials.
I too live in a small country town, ladies give me yarn from loved ones who move or pass away. Some old style afghans I use as inspiration but pull out to make anew to gift someone.
So nice of them to think of you for the yarn!
I am not eager to work through my yarn stash, because the chances of me being able to buy more (new) yarn is SLIM TO NONE. Can’t afford it. So I’m trying to be stingy and rather precious with the yarn I have. Who knows with this economy and the state of this world in general just when I’ll be able to replenish my yarn. I’m hanging on to it and trying to be mindful of what I crochet - no more mindless crafting for me.
I think that's an okay way to handle your stash. I have always operated kind of like that because, like I said, I don't have a lot of disposable income. We've all got to do what's best for ourselves. ❤️
So truuuuuuuu!!!😂❤
Just one of the many benefits of having a crocheter in your life. 😂
There is a relatively new technique I've seen, Waterfall? I think that if mosaic is too slow going and Tunisian is too complicated, Waterfall might be a nice alternative. Not a trend, but hopefully helpful.
I haven't heard of that one! I will check that out. That sounds like a good middle ground!
@@woodlandstitchcraft - it's really neat! I was super excited when I discovered it. You can probably find a cheap book/booklet at Michael's or Joann's.
I see so many young people wearing bucket hats crocheted with chunky yarn right now.
Same! And they are everywhere on TikTok, which is generally younger people.
One reason that people stockpile yarn is for when they are older and won't be able t to afford it due to increased pricing. Also buying it in bulk when on sale does save money.
That makes a lot of sense!
I'm an old hand at both Tunisian and Mosaic crochet. I have been delighted to discover a blend of both - Tunisian Mosaic Crochet!! Absolutely mind-blowing! and incredibly simple to learn. You must be TOTALLY Psychic! Oh, and toss in stash-busting for the perfect trifecta!!
Oh! I will have to go find some of those designs because that sounds super cool!
Personally I don't pay attention to trends or not trends, I crochet what I like in the colours I like.😊
Love it! The best thing to do is make things you love, trendy or not. ❤️
Where can i find that pattern for 90s purple sweater with aqua cuffs/collar you showed. Reminds me of saved by the bell !❤
I think that's exactly what it's inspired by because it's called, "Saved by the Sweater" and it's by Craft and a Cuppa. The link to it is in the video description if you need it. ❤️
Love your video! You are spot on!!!❤
Thanks for watching!
I will not ever do mosaic crochet. It's a little to complicated for me.
Some things are like that! Lots of other fun things to do with crochet anyway. ❤️
To each his own 😊
Yes! Agreed! ❤️
Pine nut, red pistachio nut, all natural white pistachio nut
😂 You stop naming nuts!
Harlan!!!
I’m currently focusing on working through the yarn that is leftover from completed projects. There will be a lot of scrappy blankets, hats, and scarves.
That will be fun! 😍
I think you nailed it with so many of these! I have been doing mosaic since 2023 and watching the groups and pattern options grow exponentially! Destashing is gaining popularity. This is now where I go shopping for my yarn as my own stash decreases. Actively finishing all my WIPs and UFOs. Calling that a win!
That's such a great idea to shop from others destashing when you do need something!
I like the look of mosaic. I’ve just thought it would be extremely difficult. I need to watch how it’s really done.
It looks complicated but it is a lot easier than it seems!
I love the patterns by Crochet By BebaBlanket! I love hers were highlighted by name. She has supplemental videos. I love the center out since it is less ends.
i agree with the stash busting, i'm challenging myself to use what I have first (this is after I realized how much I have after orgnizing it), also to finish up my wips which honestly I don't have allot but they do take up space. Tunisian used to be called the Afgan stitch when I was growing up, it makes a very warm blanket I have one in my closet that I got when I was a teenager, 45 ish years ago, your right it will never go totally away, I'm not a fan of changing colors so I don't know the mosaics will be for me.
That same thing always happens to me, too, when I organize my yarn! 😅
New here! But I liked to hear what you had to say. I agree
Thank you! 😊
I ♥️ crocheting period.
It's the best!
@woodlandstitchcraft yes it sure is!!! ;)
I received a mosaic years ago.. nice to put a name to it ❤
Glad you found something useful in the video! ❤️
I just started a mosaic square afghan with Red Heart Black-Ruby Red Granny Square yarn. It's already looking stunning. I'll finish it with a dark cream color. Super stoked!
That sounds like a gorgeous color combination!
Yes, this is the method I use too for working out metres that I use. I like to keep a record of what each project uses & what's left on each partially used skein of yarn. I just found you & subbed. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
It's such a useful skill to have! Welcome, and thanks for the sub! ❤️
@@woodlandstitchcraft 💕🐨
I’m similar lots of patterns but also huge stash. I’ve done a wheel decide of all the patterns I’ve got that I have he yarn et ready to make it a little more fun
That's so smart! 🤯
wow this is dizzying to watch😵💫😵💫🥴 also were you on a timer... motor mouth'n lol
If you need it, there is an option to slow the playback speed down. Located under the gear symbol when you click on the video. Hope that helps!
Love mosaic been obsessed for a year or so now
I could see how one could become obsessed! So many beautiful designs!
I think your spot on... I have seen theses trends too
Love to hear that others are seeing the same! 🥳
Loved your video! All your predictions seem spot on. Thx for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching! ❤️
I used blanket yarn for my hexagon cardigan and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. Everyone loves it
Oh, my gosh! 😍 I bet it's so fluffy and comfy!
I love mosaic crochet.
It's so beautiful and there are so many ways to use it! 😍
Here's my contribution: Dark n Dramatic Mosaic Crochet by Sixel is fantastic! She has gothic style but also victorian. And if you get on her website you will find "fantastic flowers" like irises. I must have a dozen patterns picked out, lol.
I love her designs! It was tempting to put multiple of hers up for examples. 🤣
@woodlandstitchcraft , and her book went down in price too! I made the victorian pillow. Took me a month as it was the first time for me. It was beautifull but acrylic yarn sucks if you have to frog n reuse it. Wool is so much better.
@gaylescovel7308 I didn't know there was a book!! I know what's going on my birthday wish list this year. 😆
