this is just a little update on my 2nd month driving an HGV class 2. I've been told to stop making UA-cam videos on the job so I'm sorry that this video is made at home. I'll continue to update you guys on my experiences. Merry Christmas and happy New Year!

Sorry for the long video. I also apologize that I've taken my time uploading this video. I also apologize 🤔 for the bad audio in the first bit of the video. I bought a new wireless microphone to improve the audio quality but for some reason, the moment I start the engine, the wireless connection gets interrupted. I'll try to fix this issue asap. If you were wondering, the camera I used in the s...
Is Class 2 driving enjoyable? Opinion of a new driver with 4 weeks multi drop experience!
Переглядів 2,7 тис.3 роки тому
Just a short video. I discuss my opinion on weather or not it's fun to drive Class 2 vehicles for a career. please excuse the road noise. I've just purchased a new lavalier microphone for improved audio and it's arriving tomorrow. This is just my opinion. I'm not saying my opinion is gospel. I only have 1 months experience so I could change my mind in a few months time 🤣😜

Hi everyone. thanks for stopping by. In this video I show you a bit of what my day is like. I'm trying to be more creative given the limited time and resources I have. Feel free to skip the boring bits if you want. Your feedback will be appreciated. I'm working on a more detailed version but I wanted to put this out there to say 'thank you' to you all for 300 subs!

I started work as an HGV driver for a well known dairy. I drive a 26 tonne rigid lorry, delivering milk to shops and petrol stations.
Just passed my HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) license and I've got a new job!

Why I'll NEVER buy from a one pound "discount" store again!!!!!
I am struggling, New to industry and recently got a job delivering bread in class 2, 24 drops and an hour drive to and from depot. It's murder. Had a 15hr day and my most recent shift was 13hr. Don't think this job is for me tbh..
I have wn interview for class 1 milk delivery today. What were the interview questions?
Class 2*
Sorry I didn't reply in time. Did you get the job!?
not worth it. you get similar or better money working at mcdonald's or aldi stacking shelves. shorter hours, job security, and not a lot to mess up and even if you mess up, you won't go to prison, in an hgv if you mess up, you go to prison. fines, stress, everything. i can see why people leaving the transport industry.
Did you quit? :(
No. I'm driving ROROs. No time to make videos. Have a baby daughter and I work 11 hours a day on average
Tip: Until you get real experience, stop talking to the camera whilst manoeuvring and focus 100% on the task at hand. You "realised what you were doing"? That certainly didn't come across in the video, you stated you thought it was the front wheel on the kerb. Anyhoo, unlucky driver...
Oh dear he got mullered at muller
WHERE R YA BOET
Hello. Your video just flagged up on my youtube as im going for my class 2 training in a month. I wanted class 1 but there werent any spaces left as its government funded. Anyway. I think your videos are really interesting, So much even that ive watched them all. Please could you make a short video or something like an update. I bet youve got kids and everything now!! 😂. I do get what you mean though... I used to make videos but i dont get time now. Takes too long to edit.
You have stopped on a curb, and you have a taillift. The public can not get past. Think of your health and safety when delivering. It could save your life.
Maybe put 100% concentration into driving and not filming your muggy little videos. Plus your filming yourself breaching h&s getting out of cab with your silly selfie stick 😂😂😂
Why doesn't the handle of your selfie stick show up.... is it edited out...just curious
It's a 360 camera so the selfie stick is in the stitch line between the two wide angle lenses that make up the 360 camera.
You could have given yourself another foot without any problem
Bearing in mind I had only passed my HGV license 2 weeks before that 😭😂
ffs thats loads of room their pal i have had climb out of the window some places to get out .
Did you maintain 3 points of contact?
You still trucking?
Still trucking. Been wanting to make an update video but Life gets so hectic. I saw it was 1 year since I posted and it honestly feels like a few weeks ago
Update?
No doubt the dude he was shouting at you in tight spot wasn’t a driver himself, I can almost garentee it. People who don’t drive these vehicles are clueless.
Just turned class 2 first few shifts stressful but starting to enjoy it, the rude ones you have to let it go over your head, no point letting it get to you. Choose to have a good day instead off a bad one, great advice
Cheers. Yeah. Been more than two years of driving for me now. Lots of choosing to have good days but if you don't allow other people to get to you, you will get on fine in this job.
I remember, i was driving in germany through the town with these narrow streets, cobble stone kinda town, houses right on the pavement kinda place, made a turn and the back of thr trailer hit the corner of her roof. Took the gutter right off. 2 or 3 weeks later, i was loading at dhl, put it in reverse, then want to go fwd to straighten things up, got flustered and reversed back into the dock wall 😅 funny now but at the time, couldnt have felt more embarrassed. That was 5/6yrs ago, havent messed up since. I enjoy your videos, youre honest in your words. Most can relate to these kinda moments.
On exercise (in the 80s) on some forest tracks and I missed a turn so decided to reverse back, unfortunately for me a landcover had been following me closely and was in my blindspot... quick mirror check, selected reverse (nae fancy cameras at the back) and crunch, before he could blow the horn...
Drivers and screwdrivers 😅.. jeez ... 25 yrs on cartransporters .. you think that is tight 😂😂😂
Trust me I've had a lot worse than that after working on the dustcarts for a few months
Iv just noticed you work for Muller I worked for the depot in amesbury swell who ever showed you that run has told you to park In the wrong place anyways. It's a dead end street so if need be just block the road abit
Is that butts road one stop in Southampton. The back door is a lot further away 😂
Yes, good detective work. Haha. Honestly, I don't remember my reasons for parking so far from the backdoor. I think it had to do with where other cars were parked or not wanting to block people's driveways. It was a long time ago. Also Bearing in mind; I was still quite inexperienced back then. I've been driving RORO's over a year now in Bucks.
We're all entitled to a bump but sorry pal not really any excuse in hitting that fence twice. Especially drivers side.
Only hit it once 😂
Where did u get the idea I hit it twice
@@truckerdavidoff6093 I misunderstood. The damage on both ends was caused by 1 hit.
Drivings hgvs aint for you
Maybe stop filming while driving and you won’t hit the fence ?
No need to be that close lol. Plenty of room on the near side.
Us London drivers us block the road up 🤷♂️😂
Or GET THEM TO MOVE THEIR VEHICLES POLITELY 😊
Fuck class 2 mate get your class 1 license better work and it's easier once you've nailed the reversing
typical bri sh
Actually proudly South African! I moved here to the UK in 2017
How you doing buddy still driving no videos anymore enjoyed watching your progress as a new driver
My life has been absolute chaos over the past few months. Good chaos- that is! I'm planning another video soon.
make some more videos man id love to see where youre at now!
Planning one. Hopefully will put it out this month or next month. Sorry for the delay in posting
Don’t let anyone who hasn’t drove or isn’t qualified to drive a HGV give you shit because the honest truth is they all seem to think it’s easy, sure it does look easy from the outside but when your in the cab with restricted view it can sometimes take more skill to make your turns so fuck them muppets, just tell them to go back inside 😂
I wonder when he will be back its been 7 months
Loads of room on near side use that room
Okay yeah yeah ❤️
Hi no mate what job you do pal there always a dick head some where keep ur good work up n keep this country ticking over pal
21 Drops is taking the piss mate
I've done 15 Drops mate and not done the Run before and that was a 15 Hour day , my Hat goes off to you mate
Had a license since 2019 but I never used it. Asking around for casual. Keep investing in yourself, do other training in your own time which can also make you career money.
Hello I start on Monday in Amesbury can't wait . Hope your well and still enjoying your job
Congratulations.
I'm doing RORO's now. Really enjoying it!
@@truckerdavidoff6093 Roro?
Roll on roll off skip lorry's
How's it going mate?
How long after your assessment did you start with muller? Got an interview on Friday
Two weeks.
Good luck! Which depot?

@@truckerdavidoff6093 thank you
Thanks for a great content 👌🏽...
Well done man, nice to see you back.
You are unloader... More like warehouse worker.. You do drive but that's obviously not your primary work...
Not doing it anymore. I'm doing 'Roll on-roll off' skips now. I'm actually enjoying it.
Thanks Davidoff, an interesting view point on the life of HGV! I have always found that work is better if you can ensure you get some pleasure out of it. Job satisfaction and travelling in beautiful countryside work wonders. Money helps but is not everything. Problems with folk always crop up, live with them or ignore them, never let them get you down. I wonder how you are getting on now? perhaps I will have a chase through to find out.
Good to see you posting again mate. Good to see your doing well. Are you going for your class 1 license?
I wouldn't work for muller, 2 Am start times, crap cages, I prefer depot to depot jobs like greencore, etc..easy money..
Hello mate hows you? And are you still driving after leaving that crap job in the video?
Hey mate. Doing well thanks. I'm working as a RORO driver now. Enjoying it!
Best advice I can all new drivers is NOT to go from car driving straight into class 1 . Drive Van's, Lutons, 7 and half tons. Cut your teeth on class 2 or even buses for the patience. So many class 1 drivers , booting around all fast. Take slow, dont get rattled, If you have to get out and check, do it, who cares about all the strangers on the road. TAKE YOUR TIME. Bugger the office rushing you, look after your licence.
I remember my first shift 1995. Agency, builders merchant. Didn't even know how to tighten a ratchet strap. No induction, no advice. Apart from the agency telling me don't tell them it's your first shift! Did 10 yrs and left the industry. Now, at 52 I got my first ever CPC Card in the post. Should I stay on the taxis or go back to the wagons?
The company I was with put me through my class 2 so I was doing multi drop work for about a month then they put me through my class 1 and then started trunking. Only ever had 2 runs so was a doddle! Did that for a few years now I'm on heavy haulage, absolutely love this job! Can see me doing this for quite some time! Definitely I'd go for your class 1 if you get the chance, opens up a tonne of new doors 🤘
I plan to, get my class 1 next year..........i don't mind the hours as there's plenty of work....
How do you workout the payload of of the truck you will be using any tips to make it easier
Not really sure what you're asking here. Can you be a bit more specific?
looking for tips and ways to make sure not to overload the vehicle.
Nice to see a new video mate. You should get your class 1 and drive in Milton Keynes, the money here is much better than in Aylesbury and there’s so many options
