Of all the people I can think of who should have killed themselves.you are not one of them, Jeff. (I know you did, and I wish you didn't.) There's only so much that a sensitive soul can bear, though, and you reached your limit. You are a gift from God, to us, and your presence on Earth is truly missed. Your lousy father was a karmic father, and therefore not your real (soul) father. He didn't deserve to have you as his son. We couldn't possibly foget you. Ever. Love and Light. (I'm being cyber-stalked, and he made 2 words blue, sorry!)
A relationship is not always easy, i know and if i become upset with you i go quiet because i hate fighting, on the other hand i have a little bit of a temper, too. Arch Angel Michael actually told me to go easy on you because you're so tender hearted so i do keep that in mind because i don't want to hurt you. I'm not perfect but my family and my home are number one. ❤ Maybe I'm tougher then you. Lol
6:45 I am doing an incredibly intimate outdoors gig / concert in a very exclusive location, if you can't find me or get in which invariably is the case with such top secret shizzle, I will be performing to one seagul that comes in on the crows flight view, probably not see you there, be doing a fair few nights here
Samson was never happy with Delilah, but his hair was matted cos he was scatty and depressed, even though he thought the oppressors of his fellow man and woman, them mother huggers still oppressed him and no one had his back, never truer words were sung
I have never heard this version in church but this is by far my favorite. It's that truth that everyone is broken and that's when we find the best of ourselves and at my low I met Jesus Christ not at my highest.
" her body in the moonlight overthrew you ". I cannot imagine a more poetic expression of loveliness. I heard that line near 30 years ago and the impression it gave hasn't lost a bit of the magic.....when I was young I was deeply in love with an island girl while stationed in Guam and a night we were walking along the western shore, a full moon was low on the horizon. Without a doubt the sight of her standing at water's edge a bright silver carpet starting where she stood lay across the oceans subtle ripples her in a summer dress the full moon serving but for one purpose. I've lived in the South Pacific and up and down the west coast, I've traveled a lot, so many beautiful sights. Yet nothing has come close to that one moment I knew even then that I was given a once in a lifetime gift. I saw beautiful at it's absolute most beautiful.
I heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well, it goes like this: the fourth, the fifth The minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah Your faith was strong, but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah Baby, I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor, you know I used to live alone before I knew ya And I've seen your flag on the marble arch And love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah There was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me, do you? But remember when I moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was hallelujah Hallelujah, hhallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah Maybe there's a God above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
While my knees don't turn to jelly or make me faint line a fangirl at an Elvis Presley concert when I hear _this m_ version, I suppose everyone has their version they like best. That's fine. But what's not fine is the bickering over the songs message when as long as you understand the spoken and written English language, it can only mean so many things. The biblical allusions that it reference and what they implicate aren't debatable, subjective nor could really be transformed from what they've already are. It seems you have those that overanalyze the song and end up making leaps in logic to something else entirely. We all know those kinds of people and like what mob mentality conditioned us, disparage them who dare threaten our views. But what _also_ needs to be highlighted are the deep fragilities the other camp holds were they cannot withstand having their view challenge and feel it never should be. Hiding behind buzzwords and phrases like "death to the author" and "ArT iS sUbJEctivE". Well, I got bad news for you... 🎵 _"Your Faith wasn't strong and here's your proof..."_ 🎵 You can have your personal interpretation of a song, while a song still carries it's true intent expressed by the creator/author. In fact, it's hypocritical to on one hand, the song is art, it's subjective; while on the other shout about how someone _else_ is imposing their interpretation onto the song and by extension, yourself. If it's art, then it's an expression. We own our expressions, that why it's ours. But you deny the creator/author their own expression (the product itself) because it differs and possibly threatens your expression of interpretation. You _really_ need a Hallelujah then... As for the fedora tipper atheists out there. The stories are still stories that exist within a physical book despite not believing in the ethereal or corporeal people of the tales. The messages the song highlights from them doesn't _magically_ shift just because of a difference in Faith or lack there of. This goes back to the objectivity that is the song itself and what the intent of a very real man, Cohen, are in creating this song. You can absolutely like this song and not pretend like you're getting caught watching porn by your parents or fellow atheist peers. I would assume "Love" exists as some construct to those outside of a Faith for that reason. I reiterate, there is nothing wrong with having and expressing what the song means (or doesn't means) to you. But at the same time, shooting down those who seek to find and share the intent of the author about the song or what the author says is the intent of the song doesn't make you morally right, it doesn't make them morally wrong. Judging from the comments on here, I am certain people who find and share the author's intent or the intent of the piece of medium being discussed already understand people can still have a different interpretation. People can and will have a different interpretation about anything. Nobody is saying you can't. So you don't have to act or feel threatened as if your freedom of expression is getting infringed. It really does look like you just can't handle a second viewpoint. As if you can only see and understand the world and its people for what they are _to you_ and not what they are to themselves.
Just learnt to play on guitar such a beautiful song but Buckley dose something extra with his picking that takes it to a new level. I prefer a more traditional singing to buckley's version but he definitely plays it the best I've heard.
For anybody who wants to know what Hallelujah means, it’s praise be to the most high, the last 3 words Jah is referencing God Which Jah is the short version of God name that he gave to Moses. Hallel is basically means praises, or songs.
who’s here in 2024?

Written by Leonard Cohen. JB covers the original beautifully.
This was at the end of believer 2 and I bawled my eyes out
It is about god and david

Great to practice with 😎✨✨✨
Where in this Song does it mention Jesus? Its about him and his girlfriend. Glory should be to God only if you sing Hallelujah
This song is really just about orgasming, right?

This is not a religious song
Cohen is the man but I love this version so much!

The lyrics/song is written by Lenard Cohen - but beautiful version by Buckley
2:53 - 3:04 This part makes me wanna cry so badly. You can hear the pain in his voice ;(
It feels like a song from God.
The voice going from low to high is truely amazing
Not to judge or anything but am I the only one who is annoyed with the whole ONE MINUTE introduction
Some of us prefer a build up to the lyrics
Yes
Hi, I'm an Italian girl, please come and listen to my LIVE version of this song? I'd like to have an opinion. I answer everyone, thanks!
I hold no religious beliefs.. but I’ll be damned if this song doesn’t nearly jerk a tear every time.
Bitches be Bitches.
It's a great shame that churches don't play this song. Perhaps Cohen is too real for Christianity
What if, Freddie Mercury sang that?! DAMN.
what if jeff sang love of my life
It would be as good
I prefer Cale's version
I didn't even miss a single second.
