I need job Colombia but i am working croatia please how can apply call me
Hey! Thanks for the detailed info. May I ask about compulsory military service? So could the male individual who will obtain Colombian citizenship be called up for military service?
What if I want to buy property for around 50-60k, what visa should i apply, because i don't qualify for investor visa
I would like to retire in Colombia but I am not even close to pension age yet. I have investments that pay 10 times the monthly minimum wage but they are not a pension. I’m looking for a solution that lets me live in Colombia without being tied down to the country. I should specify the investments are traditional stocks and ETFs. Not cryptocurrency.
Hi! Investments in stocks or ETFs do not qualify for a visa in Colombia, as the government requires a real investment in the country, such as purchasing property, starting your own business, or investing in an existing company. However, options like the Digital Nomad Visa or the Rentista Visa might be worth exploring, depending on the source and structure of your income. We’d be happy to review your case and help you find the best solution-feel free to contact us! wa.link/cxajxh
When you said invest 100 minimum wages is that monthly or annual?
If you invest 100 minimum wages or more in a Colombian company (either your own or another), you can apply for a Migrant visa. It could be a one-time investment.
Wow. If I retire in Colombia on a aprox $84K dollars annual income (wife and me), what are my options to reduce this tax burden?
Thank you for your question! To help you reduce your tax burden in Colombia, it's important to analyze your specific financial situation. This way, we can provide tailored advice to minimize your taxes effectively. Feel free to reach out to us for a personalized consultation: wa.link/cxajxh. We’d be happy to assist you!
how about crypto tax from australia but wife colombian
So my question is both of my parents are from Bogota Colombia, and I was born in the United States in Queens, New York, and I want dual citizenship. I’m in the process right now, but I’m getting confused. I received my birth certificate my apostle from the city now I have to go to New York State with a form that I have to fill out. It’s called apostle certificate authentication form now my question is when it asks country or documents will be used I put Colomia correct; what about if I want to live in Spain do I have to fill one out for that also? Can I live in Spain with a dual citizenship for Colombia.? This question was asked in December 20 24 if things have changed, please let me know
Hola!
Lord, I always feel dumb asking questions about Colombian citizenship in a comment section. I have Googled it but no real info. My wife is a Colombian citizen. She and I are married in the USA, and she is a naturalized U.S. citizen. We plan on retiring in Colombia. Si, es la verdad mano! She tells me not to worry, but I know nothing about the processing of my situation. Any advice will be truly appreciated.
No worries! Since your wife is Colombian, you can apply for an M Visa (Marriage Visa), can be granted for up to 3 years, which counts toward the time needed (3 years) to apply for a Resident Visa. If you’d like help with the process, feel free to contact us, we’d be happy to guide you!
I wonder how much this applies now, a year later
The regulation remains the same, with no recent changes. However, please keep in mind the increase in the Colombian Minimum Wage, which is now $1,300,000 COP. For instance, if you need to calculate the requirement of 100 minimum wages for 2024, it should be multiplied by $1,300,000 COP.
We read somewhere, that if you earning monthly in foreigner countries (pensions), are less that 8000 dolars... you will not have to pay taxes. Its that true?
Pensions of less than 1,000 UVT per month (equivalent to $47,065,000 COP, or approximately $12,037 USD for 2024 at today’s exchange rate) are exempt from Colombian taxes. If your pension exceeds this threshold, it becomes taxable, with the tax rate varying based on the pension amount.
Hello, could you please explain the process and what documents are needed to apply for dual citizenship as a USA born person with Colombian parents looking to obtain Colombian citizenship. thank you.
Hello, for this process we’ll need a birth certificate, apostilled and translated, as well as copies of the parents’ ID cards.
Good general advice
What is time require to enter the colombia after getting the V type visa
There is no specific time frame to enter Colombia after receiving the V-type visa. However, make sure to plan accordingly based on the visa's expiration date.
Hello. Is it still possible for natural born Caribbean citizens to gain Colombian citizenship in 1 year?
That changed with the enactment of Law 2332 of 2023. This benefit no longer exists, so it’s necessary to accumulate 5 years with a migrant visa, or in the case of obtaining a marriage visa with a Colombian national, 3 years, or a visa as the parent of a Colombian national, 2 years.
Hello, I am Sudanese and reside in the State of Kuwait. Can you help me obtain a Colombian tourist visa?
Most certainly, we can help you obtain a tourist visa. Here you can find more information about the requirements: nexo.legal/home/colombian-visa/v-tourism-visa/ Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Pakistani national eligible digital nomad visa i have nomad visa in Malaysia
No, sir. One of the requirements to apply for a digital nomad visa is to have a passport issued by one of the countries or territories exempt from a short-stay visa, according to the Resolution, and Pakistan is not exempt. You can find the list of countries here: nexo.legal/home/colombian-visa/

Still a little confused im American what visa do I need to buy an apartment in Colombia worth 70k planning of paying cash for it. Would like to stay longer then 90 or 180 days
You can buy an apartment in Colombia as a foreigner without a visa. However, if you want to apply for a visa through the purchase of property to stay in Colombia for more than 180 days, the value of the property must exceed 350 minimum wages, which is $455,000,000 COP for 2024.
I'm from the USA. I just overstay my visa this time I stayed for two years when I leave I pay a 1000$ dollar fine and I ask the immagation can I return to Colombia since I paid the fine the last said yes so I leave and when I return it's like nothing happened they give me my 90 days I extend for another 90 days then I overstayed my visa again. It was the same routine I paid the fine and when I returned to Colombia they allowed me to enter. I didn't want to deal with there visa process and the rediculious documents they require. Paying the fine is well worth it for me. They actually hope everyone overstays there visa they love collecting that fine it's like free money for them.
Be careful buying an apartment there's so many scams in Colombia you can't trust anyone they will scam you with a smile.
Excelente información. ¡Gracias!
Nos alegra que te haya sido útil la información. ¡Saludos!
Teo with the fresh frames! I see you my guy

How about digit nomads living in the country for over 183+ days but all their income is online foreign earned. Are they tax residents and do they need to pay if it's all foreign earned? Is Colombia a land of law where it's actually enforceable if you get paid purely online?
Same question here.
Colombia does tax worldwide income for tax residents, and it doesn't differentiate based on how the income is generated. Colombia has agreements with certain countries to avoid double taxation, which can reduce your tax liability here.

So I've been sending money transfers to a friend in Colombia monthly around 300 dollars. My question is is she obligated to pay taxes on that money? I asked this question because my friend received an email from DIAN and according to the email she must pay taxes from 2023. Is that true?
If your friend already meets the criteria and has been declaring income tax in previous years, it is most likely that your friend must declare the amounts he/she is receiving from you. If your friend didn't meet the criteria before, then we must check if combining their income with the amount you are sending meets the criteria to declare taxes. You can find more information about the criteria in the following link: nexo.legal/taxes-for-foreigners-in-colombia-2024/

The most effective way to secure assets is by NOT marrying a Colombian. Stay AWAY from those pathetic people.
The most important piece is missing: Is the digital-nomad visa holder a subject to Colombian income taxes? I read wildly different opinions on this. Most sites say the visa holder can't stay in Colombia more than 183 days/year, otherwise triggers residency tax. What would be the point of the visa then?
The Digital Nomad visa could allow you to stay continuously in Colombia for up to 2 years. Being a visa holder does not make you eligible to declare taxes. You must declare taxes if you become a tax resident and meet the criteria. You become a tax resident if you stay in the country (continuously or not) for more than 183 days (taking into account entry and exit dates) within a period of 365 consecutive days (not a calendar year). If the 183-day period covers two different calendar years, you would be considered a Colombian tax resident for the second year. Here you can find more information about taxes in Colombia: nexo.legal/taxes-for-foreigners-in-colombia-2024/
What type of residential properties are foreiners legally allowed to purchase? Private homes, apartments and so on
A foreigner can legally purchase real estate in Colombia with a passport.
Hi bro how can we get invitation letter for visit visa from Colombia
You can obtain an invitation Letter from a Colombian national, a foreigner with a resident visa, or a company in Colombia.
Is there a professional visa where my college degree can give me access to residency? If yes are there any degrees areas that are excluded? Similar programs exist in Panama and Ecuador
Yes, it is possible, but you must meet certain specific requirements, including average income level, and your degree must be validated in Colombia before applying for the visa. Feel free to reach to us, it'd be a pleasure to help you. Email: Comercial@nexo.legal WhatsApp: wa.link/cxajxh
What about Asian country like Pakistan. I am a Motion Designer working for an international company with 1000$ salary from past 1 year. And how to get the travel insurance for Colombia
To be eligible for a Digital Nomad visa, you must hold a passport issued by one of the countries or territories exempt from short-stay visas, according to the Resolution. You can find the list of the countries in the following link: nexo.legal/home/colombian-visa/
Are you talking about non-colombian citizens or colombian citizens? Leave what country are you talkoing about?
Thank you for your interest. We are discussing non-Colombian citizens who are considering or are in the process of applying for a Colombian visa.
@@_nexolegal If I'm in Colombia and apply for the nomad visa, does that mean I can't leave Colombia until I get a decision? What happens if my tourist stamp is set to expire after staying 179 days in the country? Should I wait for the visa decision or leave the country and reapply?
@@BreasyTravels-vm9uk That's correct. If you are in the process of obtaining a Digital Nomad visa, you can't leave the country until you get a final decision on your visa application. If your tourist permit is running out, you can apply for a salvoconducto to regulate your immigration status. Feel free to reach out to us to discuss your particular case.
God bless
Thank you!

I’m planning to visit Colombia to apply for a tourist visa, and I wonder if they’re going to require a letter from my company. The matter is I left my previous job, and I’m going to use my savings to travel to Colombia for tourism. is that possible to get the tourist visa online without a letter from my company since I left my old job or not?
If you are from a country that requires a tourist visa to enter Colombia, it is important to note that the Colombian government requires proof of a steady income through bank statements, your monthly income must be greater than $13,000,000 COP (approximately $3,000 USD) for the last six months. Savings do not count as proof of financial stability.
Sir work visa easy to get for Pakistani citizen
In order to obtain a work visa, you must first have a job offer from a company that meets the requirements established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Here are two key requirements to help you understand how easy or hard it may be according to your particular case (there are other requirements that may apply): - Motivation letter from the employer, stating the suitability, functions to be performed, the training that the foreigner has for that occupation, reasons for not hiring a Colombian citizen, and the number of direct jobs generated by the company. - Bank certifications in the name of the employer for the last four (4) months, showing an average monthly income of one hundred (100) Colombian minimum wages (approximately 32,000 USD). I hope you find this information helpful. If you have found a company that is willing to hire you and meets these requirements, let us know. It will be a pleasure to assist you with your visa process.
@@_nexolegal noted and thank you
Do colombian citizens, born in Colombia but living abroad, have to declare taxes. Are there any ramifications for moving back to Colombia?
If you are a Colombian citizen living abroad, you must file taxes if you meet one of the following criteria: a. Your spouse or permanent partner who is not legally separated, or dependent minor children, have tax residence in the country; or, b. Fifty percent (50%) or more of your income is from national sources; or, c. Fifty percent (50%) or more of your assets are managed in the country; or, d. Fifty percent (50%) or more of your assets are considered to be held in the country. If you do not meet these conditions, there will be no consequences for returning to Colombia. However, if you become a tax resident and meet the conditions that make you eligible to declare taxes, then you are obligated to do so. Please feel free to reach out to us; we would be happy to help clarify any additional concerns you may have.

Just 34k Thats cheap 😮
That's correct. It is important to note that the requirement is based on the Colombian minimum wage and increases annually. When reapplying, the amount will be higher according to the increase. If you are looking for a residence visa, it is advisable to invest a higher amount from the beginning, taking into account the possible increase in the minimum wage in the following years.
