I love The Last Jedi.
Because of how divisive it was at the time of its release (and even now), I tend to always forget just how truly amazing it was to experience the first time I saw it. This was a much darker and more nuanced Star Wars story than I was used to, and I loved it.
I made this edit after a recent rewatch of The Last Jedi, to help better visualize and contextualize Luke's thinking in this moment. This whole scene is a brilliantly performed monologue, so I wanted to give it some more context using scenes from the other movies.
I'm not here to debate over whether or not certain characters or arcs were done well, I'm pretty solid in my judgement of this movie and I don't think anything's going to change that. You can disagree and that's fine, to each their own, but I'm still going to keep loving this movie and what it says about Star Wars.
