I had my oak kitchen cabinets “professionally “ painted Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron. It didn’t work out as there are nicks everywhere. I purchased Liberty Blue Fusion Paint and used the back of a cabinet door and painted with a foam roller and then have applied one coat of glossy top coat. The feel of the liberty blue feels more course than other fusion samples: Willowbank, Midnight Blue, and Seaside. Since I’m painting over the Wrought Iron I want there to be a glossy look and feel. Wish I could send a photo. Any ideas on making the Liberty Blue not so streaky?

I like that you removed some of the excessive frills here. I still wouldn't call this a "modern" look, but it feels a lot calmer and cleaner. I would definitely have this in my home, whereas the before was a stylistic nightmare to me. (Really not a fan of things that are made to look old or dingy on purpose.) Also glad you did not add gilding or distressing or other such effects to highlight any of the features, because with the lovely, dark paint, the remaining frills and curves absolutely stand for themselves. Less really is more sometimes. <3

Wow, this is so beautiful. I absolutely love the new hardware. This is very helpful for me because I am getting ready to use Fusion paint on my piece and I was wondering about top coats because I don't like the feel of the finish as it is. Thank you.

How long did you wait for the Fushion paint to cure before applying the poly? Fushion says it fully cures in 20 days but I'm guessing I can top coat with poly sooner. Any suggetions is greatly appreciated.

Does that oil look streaky afterward - we have found that wax creates streaks on dark colours

Please stop painting everything. Learning to work with veneers and understanding what kind of wood you're working with will give you so many more avenues than just painting..

So it's a nice bench idea, but do you have any runners underneath the top of the bench? If not it's going to sag significantly if enough weight (like a person sitting) is applied to the middle.

It turned out beautifully!❤ one tip. Always clean the f sand, grease and grime can go through the porous of grain when you sand first.

The original knobs were the bomb, but clean and sprayed painted. Great job and thx for the tips.
