      Thank you so much! You videos help a lot! We are going in June, I have already booked the Sorrento excursion😊 just wondering if the disembarkation smooth? We are planning to join a local shore excursion for Pisa and Florence, the pick up time is 7:45am. The cruise schedules to dock at 6:30, do u think it will work? Cos I am afraid the cruise will give priority to those who join its excursion….. thanks a ton!

    • @Breakawaywithnoreen
      @Breakawaywithnoreen Місяць тому

      Hello, it is not a tender port so whoever gets in line to disembark will get off accordingly. I would get in line very early. That is my general knowledge with Royal. As to specific smoothness of the disembarkation process in La Spezia port, I think it is. As you see in the video, shuttle buses were already lining up for us. Don’t know where you all are meeting up for your excursion but if you need to take the free shuttle to the terminal it should not be a problem. We didn’t get off until almost 9am. I hope your excursion includes taking a train to Florence and Pisa. I hate to think that if you all will be transported in a bus you will hit traffic and will miss the ship. That always scares me. Sorry I don’t mean to scare you. Otherwise have fun on your trip.

      @Breakawaywithnoreen 11 місяців тому

      Yes this was an excursion with Royal. Can you explain your last question further ? What group and port do you mean? If you mean to find the excursion group, most Royal Caribbean excursions including this one, everyone meets at a certain place on the ship like the Royal theatre or lounge. They give you a sticker and you all disembark the ship together and get on the shuttle. Hope this helps.

    Hi! Awesome tips, thank you! Do you think is possible to go from Pisa to Florence in a cruise stop?

    • @Breakawaywithnoreen
      @Breakawaywithnoreen Рік тому

      My short answer to this is Yes. There’s a train change to go to Florence . It is doable if one walks fast. Disembark as soon as that gangway opens. I recommend going to Florence first which is farther and work your way back. Go online on Trenitalia or Italiarail and look at the train schedule so you can budget the time you’ll spend in Florence. You don’t need to spend a lot of time in Pisa. Remember to give yourself extra time going back to the ship as you may have to walk from La Spezia Centrale train station to the Cruise terminal and then take that free shuttle back to the ship. Good luck and Have a great time.

      Hello Caroline. Our embarkation port was Civitavecchiae (Rome). We explored Rome before and after the cruise. We rented a car from our hotel in Rome to Civitavecchiae for 60 euros and there were 4 of us so I think it was a good deal. We were dropped off right where the shuttle was that took us straight to where the ship was docked.

      They sell the tickets at the cruise terminal where everyone pass through after disembarking from the ship. That’s where we bought the tickets. The shuttle is waiting right outside the building. You’ll see it in the very first part of this video.

    • @Breakawaywithnoreen

      Mmm good question but what I’m sure of is, it took about 12 minutes from the cruise terminal (which as you can see in this video is very near the ship) to the drop off area near the Cathedral. I guess it also depends on which part of the city you’re heading . Hope that answers your question.

    Hi thank you. Helpful video. I got one question pls. You mentioned 5 min walk from Pisa S. Rossore station to the leaning tower. I tried google map but its not giving me that 5 min walk route. Its making us walk under the tunnel instead (bec of train fence it appears) that makes the walk longer. Hope you can help clarify pls. Thanks

    • @Breakawaywithnoreen
      @Breakawaywithnoreen Рік тому

      If you look at the fence , the other side is the train station. We just walked out from the station. From there all the way to the end of the fence is just a minute or so walk, make a left and walk like 3 minutes to the end of the block where you make a right and you’ll see the tower of Pisa. We didn’t go through a tunnel. Let me know if you have more questions.

    • @arvinct2
      @arvinct2 Рік тому

      Hi thank you. I paid more attention this time. At Pisa S. Rossore, it looked like you did go through an elevator? for a short underground walk to go to the other side and start heading your way to leaning tower?

You can explore the city more if you want. I also saw many people walking to the beach. For me, it’s just another touristy place . The Barcelona shuttle was right outside our terminal very near the ship. I did make a correction in the video description that we paid a fee ($3 pp- price can change). I realized that after I posted the video. It was a one way ticket unlike Palma De Mallorca shuttle. I noted in the video where we were dropped off, just a walking distance to La Rambla. As for the return, we took another mode of transportation. We didn’t take the shuttle back. You can probably ask the driver before you leave if pick up is same as drop off.

Even from the get go, our guide Valerie promised us that we will be back in Naples at a certain time , I believe at 2pm. We passed by the lemoncillo plant and we hit traffic as well. I’m sure she adjusted the free time she gave us to go around Sorrento. Take note, once we got to Sorrento, our guide took the group to this store that made wood carved products. It was nice but we did spend a good half an hour there for the demo and then shopping at that store. In hindsight, we could have broken away from the group and started going around on our own.
