So you didn’t put down weed cloth before laying the gravel?
No, it doesn’t really work, weeds can go right thru weed cloth. Spread a bag of pre-emergent once or twice a year and the gravel will stay clear
It's cool you built something, but it's more like a tent with wood posts.
Thanks! Maybe you can share the video with your 15 subscribers
Looks sharp.
Thanks!
Just a note - people do not need to see your face taking up 60% of the screen 50% of the time. Less of your face, more of the project. I understand people like to watch themselves, like looking in the mirror. it is really off putting when you have your entire head in the frame.
Lmao
@@taylor.g.deloyethis dude is tripping. great vid
How long did you allow the paint to dry between the panels before operating the door? Same question about the top and edges? How long did you wait for the paint to dry?
If the door is in direct sunlight it will dry in minutes. To be safe you can wait 30 minutes, typically exterior paint jobs dry very quickly!
Hi, looks great! Did you apply a primer before painting ( appears not?). If not, any worry about adhesion? Also does the paint in the grooves peel off when you open/close the door?
Thanks! No need for primer. And no issues with peeling 8 months later. I used exterior stucco paint for added flexibility.
Do the compressed air run out after many use? Or the machine takes air and compresses it for unlimited use?
Just wait a few seconds and more air will be compressed! As long as the machine is powered on, of course!
Very nice job! Used to live in Glendale and Surprise years ago. Just more than an hour to Sedona, Payson for outdoor camping. The winter time is wonderful there while everywhere is cold and snow. I used artificial turf for my gazebo ground (love the shape but take more time to build) instead of concrete slab and this helps release heat. Hey, how about a misty system and lantern string that every Arizonan loves to have in the backyard? I miss the concrete block fence there :-D
Ha! Good ideas, I had a mister system but it broke. The string lights are always a nice addition!
@@taylor.g.deloye Saw those palm trees. I don't know how you think but create a tiny paradise look in the desert by surround that nice pergola with palm trees and they will benefit from misty system too. Party time, yeah! Hahaha
Love it! It would be nice to add lighting for nighttime parking.
Definitely!
This is exactly what I am wanting to do and then add then, down the road, add metal roof like you did. Nice video
Do it! Good luck with the project!
No expansion tank? Key component to extend the life of your tank

How deep did you dig footings?
About 20”
Could not hear voice just music playing the whole video
I’m so sorry! I just fixed it, please check back shortly. Thank you!!
I watched the entire video and loved the final outcome. It’s kinda the same idea I had in mind to include the strips. But could not figure out how to do it without brackets My laundry room is much larger but this video greatly helped my design ideas.
Maybe I should start my own UA-cam channel and save some folks some bucks....
Lol maybe you should! Thanks for your insight!
Sorry, I am a man of the truth...
My neighbors just like this one less than a year old is rusting from the inside under the paint and out. What a piece of junk! Plastic fenders instead of welded steel, gaps in the wood, thin wall pipe more than likely Chinese...Of course I can't name the company on youtube but there is more than one selling solid steel welded, pt wood tight with no gaps,LED lights,15" 6 ply, Square tube expanded metal gate......I know trailers because I've been studying brands, prices, builds, etc. for weeks...I bought a 5x10 all aluminum, torsion axle at a steal of a deal...I wanted something lighter but strong that would out live me....Had I not found this deal I would have used a company in Ft.Pierce Fl.that make the strongest for the least...
There is nothing low priced about this trailer..Cheap made yes, rusts like mad in the Florida Humidity, and made of thin wall tubing..Way over priced for what you get...For less money you can buy same size trailer with 3500 lb. axle made of heavy welded angle iron with a much stronger expanded metal ramp....Shop around there are several other brands better made in the same price range...
does it only use the top element? my top two lights are on, it doesnt show the lower element active at first power
Both the upper and lower elements should be in use but when heating and indicator lights turn on may vary. It depends how much water you use and how much water needs to be heated.
Hey do you treat the dirt with the same amount of solution as you did for the trench I.e. 4 gallons? If so it’s treatment on top of treatment?
Treatment on top of treatment yes. In other videos, I have seen them spray the solution on top of the dirt. The same amount as the subterranean treatment is not necessary.
This video was pushed to me, i guess UA-cam is trying to help you! Good luck
Thanks Harry and thanks UA-cam! 😂
Thank you
Welcome!
great job! What are the dimensions of the carport?
Thank you! It’s 24’ W x 14’ L x 9.5’ H
My husband died in 2020. I found out that he had an IRS lien that he was paying an installment plan on. I finished paying that and lien is off our home. Problem is- the mortgage rate on my home is 8.875%. I have 9.9 yrs and $125k balance. Should I refinance now? Fees run between $2k and $5k or more. Better to pay extra and not refinance? I’m so lost. I know nothing about finances!
Sorry to hear that, great job paying off the lien. That interest rate is quite high, granted the balance is small. It might not make sense to refi given rates are only 1-2% better. I recommend contacting your mortgage servicer to see what options may exist to lower your monthly payment.
awesome now there's the trim
🙂
Im curious did you have to adjust anything on the heater temperature settings? Did they come from the factory ready to go?
Did not adjust anything! Not sure you can on these models
@@taylor.g.deloye thank you
Great video, how long did it take to dry and did you have any issues with the door sticking since you painted the edges ?
Thanks! The sun dried it very quickly, 5-10 mins. Longer dry time in the shade. No issues with sticking after drying.
Thanks you
overkill my dude. you could have just built 3 post and attached a high quality sunshade with straps. No need for all that lumbar. Also joist hangers vs drilling 8 inch lag bolts.
You might not be familiar with Monsoon Season here in Arizona with 60-80mph winds. Better to overbuild it!

the background music makes this very difficult to watch, just sayin'
Sorry to hear that!
This was such a great video!! Thank you!
Thanks! You’re welcome!
Hey Sir loved your videovery instructional step by step, but my question when filling the tank how can you tell when it is full
Thanks! It usually only takes a few minutes for the tank to fill and begin heating.
so someone told me you have to "Season" the fence meaning not touch or paint it for a season so that it can suck all the moisture in the fence.
Depends on the type of wood, most likely it’s not necessary to wait given the slats are thin and there is a lot of built in drying time between the original mill to home depot/lumber yard to final installation.
Do you have a list of the mateirals ?
Yes it’s in the description :)
Is there an equity requirement for recasting?
Good question! No there is not! Keep in mind different lenders have different requirements but I have never heard of meeting an equity level to recast or even to refi. An LTV requirement is usually only true for removal of PMI on a mortgage.
What kind of paint brush did you use?
Wooster from Home Depot I think
Looks great. I'm going with a similar color. How many coats did you need at the end?
Thanks! 2 coats!
If I bought 5 years ago with a 30 year fixed. When I recast does my term length reset to 30 years?
Nope! You keep the same term, the reamortization schedule will reflect 25 years in your case.
Nice video, mine is in the attic, and it must have been clogged with something that it wouldn’t drain overnight. It was a pain to replace 😂. On a 1-10 scale, I would rate it an 11. Had to go to harbor freight to get a chain hoist for 70 dollars to lower it safely. I got the same model that is on your video. It was a breeze to put in and install. To hire a plumber, it would have cost $3000, paid $670 for the heater and $70 for the hoist. Hopefully will not need to replace it in the next 20 years. Great video. 👍
Wow sounds tough! Good work!
Thanks for the video, looks great. How much and what type of paint did you use?
Welcome! It’s just exterior acrylic paint. You can upgrade and get masonry/stucco paint if you want added flexibility and durability.
Good job
Thank you!
I recast my loan twice, and my monthly mortgage is 176.41. It was only 300.00 to recast. I keep making the same mortgage payment with most of it extra to the principal.
Wow! Great job!
Great video, just the right info to change a hot water tank! Thanks!
You bet!
Where in AZ do you live? I am in Lake Havasu City and I'm learning how to keep things alive out here. I came from the upper desert in California near Edwards Air Force Base. We have very similar weather there. I had 3/4 of an acre and I love taking care of all of it. Where do you live that you can have a third of an acre?
Wow that’s a lot of land! I’m in Mesa and got lucky with a big lot on a cul-de-sac. Regular water and a bag of Gromulch when planting has been my secret to success!
box office of this movie had to of been $950,000,000,000,000 Q1 (January, February, March) Q2( April, May, June) Q3(July, August, September) Q4(October, November, December)
Lmao, it was around there
Very good video, Taylor; no extra talking to fill time, straight to the point and great shots. I too have a Rheem tank (came with the house, wasn't my choice, its manufacture date is 2014 so its 10yrs old). Doesn't look bad and I don't see any rust/corrosion anywhere and the tank is sitting on cement floor - very inconvenient. Just for laughs, my TPR value isn't budging to let the pressure out to drain the tank. The bottom element is burnt out (which is what started this rather simple DIY... and... why is it never the top element to go!). We have hard water so I suspect its high time for a complete change -- just as well, its a 40G and I prefer 50 or 60G.
Thank you! Good luck with the repair!
Thebone i have is 5'7" elctric 59gallons. The lady customer service said i have to buy the tall not the medium48" . How truth is in that?
Hi Frankle, it would be hard for me to say, I recommend contacting a local plumbing, thank you!
It just looks bleak. I see, it's an actual desert climate, but aren't a few more desert plants, cacti or other, possible? I mean, the area of the basketball field isn't really nice, but it still has some green. Weed fabric is crap, you hardly get the p'astic rags out again, and after a few years, the gravel is dirty and the fabric doesn't help anymore. Cardboard would probably be better.
Yes, since the gravel install I have added many more trees and plants
