May I asked where you purchased the Twist Tech Wire Former? Only found one website which was out of stock.
@@vogters12345 I got mine from poulsencascadetackle.com/product/twistech/ Looks like they are out of stock also. When I ordered mine, it was on back order and took me roughly 6 months to get. That was really the reason I purchased the hagens. Both really are great tools!
I attached an aluminum bar to the bottom of my Hagen's machine and used C-Clamps to hold it in place and make it portable. I like the Hagen's machine just a little better.
@@Counselor77 Thanks for the comment! Making it portable is a plus for sure. The little trays on the hagens is a nice extra feature as well. I find myself using the twistech more these days, probably just for the speed. The hagens has the extra step where you have to flip the wire over to bend it back before making the loop.
in any of your videos do you discuss what size lure bodies, beads, blades and clevis is best to used with .035 wire

Great video and nice looking spinners, I have a pile of panther martins, xd mepps that go thru heck during the white bass run. I have a bunch of bent up trebles and torn up dressings on the hooks. I need to learn to replicate the dressing on the panther martins so I can make some up new dressed hooks to replace all my bent up ones.
I appreciate it! Something I have also done, which I need to make a video doing, is refurbishing old mepps lures. My Grandfather had about a dozen old ones that were exactly as you are describing. Rusted hooks, bent and just beat up! He gave them to me to see if I could do anything for them, and basically I just cut them off the old wire and put whatever was salvageable on new wire. They turned out great and he loved them! Not to mention it probably saved him a hundred dollar bill!

Will this work for spoon lures too? Like on brass? Also will they need a coat on top of them?
Yes it will work on brass. No need for a top coat. You will bake them once you’re done and that hardens them up. Powder paints are awesome!

Ive been wanting to tie up some dressed trebles for a while now but didn’t really know how to do it. Thanks! Didn't even think about balance on each hook. And thanks for the recommendation on the deep penetrating glue. Do you ever use a UV glue on these?👍👍👍
I haven’t used any UV glue on any of my tying projects. I have used a couple different glues and definitely liked the penetrating the best because of the look!

Thank you for sharing great job I tried to order one of those spinning gigs makers. it’s ni no in possible to get one in England and very expensive if you find one , so I made one my self out of metal angle roofing Joyce brackets set on wood base with a stainless steel 8m bar going through one the brackets with the handle at one end and a pin at the other end of the stainless steel bar, with the other bracket a steel block with a slots cut in and fix to that bracket, as to the one you have no your end . Just thought you like to know this, there’s more than one way to skin a cat if are creative like your self 🤝👍

@@Appalachias_Son It’s called a TwisTech wire former. Seems like they are out of stock now. I had the same problem when I bought mine. I ordered it but it was on back order and took about six months to get. I have another video you should check out that compares this with the hagens wire bender tool. Good vid ! .. I got the Sparkie Jig Mold from DoIt Molds, KINDA wish I'd gotten this one, might later on but i also have their Herring mold too, but i like the look of the poison tail one. Can make a Chatter Bait out of almost anything which is great :D ... And coloring the blades is a great idea !! I haven't done that yet

I have a couple airbrushes, the one in the video was a master airbrush I purchased off Amazon and I have a Kobalt quiet tech 26 gallon air compressor that I bought from Lowe’s.

Excellent video.i paint Chatterbait blades and have stopped using a fluid bed, which have used for years for jigs. Especially paints with glitter, the results were inconsistent with the bed. Your technique of dipping is awesome. Thank you

The crinkle isn’t Pro-Tec. You can buy it from TJs tackle, and that’s the only place I know that sells it. tjstackle.com/

Looks really good, Joe! I was watching one of your spinner videos the other day and it inspired me to drag out my stuff and make some spinners for myself again! I'd be interested to see if that lure swims as good as it looks. I had some blanks like that and painted a handful, after I tested them, let's just say I use them for light pulls and ceiling fans now. Lol I bought some from a better supplier but haven't painted or tried them out just yet.

I have never used one of those chatter things. What is its purpose? How different from just a reg jig?

Can I use the crinkle powder with any powder paint.
I believe so. I guess I’m not sure what you are using exactly, but I use it with my pro-tech powder paints. You can also use a semi transparent over it, like a candy, and it creates a neat effect!
