How is the cleanability in emerald matte vs an egg shell finish in Cashmere? I've always heard egg shell is easier to clean, but emerald doesn't come in that option.

This is how I actually price. The company I worked for chargers way more than that so I figured $2.50 sq f for ceiling and walls was on the cheaper side. Then .50-$1.00 linear foot trim, and $50 a door

How do you charge for fixing wall imperfections such as dents, holes, cracks, and etc for a home that have an abundance? A few nails holes there and there are fine, but I've encounter some where it took a lot of time just fixing the wall imperfections in comparison to just painting.

Wow, maybe I’m just ignorant to the process but $4k sounds like a lot to paint cabinets. How much would it cost to have them replaced?

How is it going. I booked an office space gig with one company last year and they pay a flat rate for standard size/office studio .they provide paint. flow of work is not as consistent but great for me to get my feet wet. I tried to ramp up my work and called other commercial office space company. I introduced my services as a painter and she said they need painters and were interested. She asked me what my numbers were and I wasn't sure what to tell her ,for not want to price myself out of work. So I asked her what her budget was and what they were paying out. She said her average rooms are 9x9s. And they are paying $90 just for paint (no prep work/nail pops/drywall repair). I tried to work out the math and it seems that a 9x9 is 81sq ft. And they are paying 1.11 per sq footage of room (not walls)- another question in itself - Should I charge on wall square footage or room square footage. Then she proceeded to ask me my numbers for prep work such as nails pops for drywall repair. and said she would follow up to ask me my numbers. Seeing as how they already seem to be on tight budget as they are a small company.I have no estimating system for prep work or just random regular nail holes that are scattered and can't find how to price that for her when she follows up. What do you suggest, I would greatly appreciate the help.

I don't like the square footage method too much. I just look at each room and estimate how long it will take me. The rolling isn't time consuming, so it comes down to how fast you can cut.

Some contractors told me they will use a roller and some said they will spray on my aluminum siding, which do you recommend? One contractor said you have to thin the paint for a sprayer?

Never buy Sherwin Williams rain refresh paint, you will get cheated. I bought SW Dark room colour. It looked totally different colour than my sample color of dark room. When I took it to the SW store in Sebring Fl, the manager said it is becouse I bought the glossy, then he said it is the fault of Rain Refresh product of Sherwin Williams. the sample looked more blackish in colour, but the 5 gallon paint looked really ugly when I painted on the trim and garage, it had more majanta than sample color. I will never buy again Sherwin Williams Paint. I really had a bad experience with Rain Refresh and Sherwin Williams.

Does the matte leave fingerprints easy. Wash durable as satin. Hear alot bad news on matte

How do you warranty against hail? So if there’s a storm in a city and the hail damages 50 homes that you painted now you have to repaint the 50 homes? C’mon man that’s ridiculous, next thing you know your warranty is going to cover earthquakes tsunamis tornados…..

$3,900 for a kitchen wow. I can do it two days tops for have that amount, And still make money.

I’m a private painter and do everything myself and I still don’t charge that much.Painters compete against each other so usually it’s a hell of a lot lower price then what your video states.

This paint has primer in it, do you recommend using a PVA primer before applying this paint still? Or just use the paint since it has primer in it?

So if I take your method and apply it to a 14 x 10 room with 8 foot ceilings, 2 doors, and a window, with standard baseboard you'll fall between $925-$990. Or roughly $6.60/sq' of floor plan on the low end. So you are on the high side of Angi's, fixr, and others pricing of $3.50-$7 per sq foot according to 2023. if you can get that you go. In the Fredericksburg VA area we have donkey's painting houses for $2.50/sq foot of floor plan with paint included, and builders want you to paint $700k homes for $1.40/sq' with paint included. If we all got what we should be getting we could make a decent living at this. I fall about $4- $4.75 right now and it's still a struggle to survive.

Cost of materials very depends on the brands such as Dulux, British paints, Ascent paint, ppg paint...warehouse paint such as Spring that is one of the low costs paint,s. 10ltr Bucket,s 4ltr and 2 to 1 ltrs very in price, depending on were you purchased them. Your high cost quality paint to low cost quality paint... You got several types of customers who want the best paint and best finish... And those customers who have a enough money for a under $5000 dollar finish... Quotes are different and difficult sometimes depends on the condition of the customer,s exterior weather boards and roof conditions... Most of us home owners have very little maintenance experience on taking care of the exterior of home,s. Your home is constantly in 4 season conditions year after year... Get a regular wash down on your exterior home every 3 to 6 months including water blasting concrete drives and paths to regularlate scum and likern...fences included It's up to the home owner to do regular checks on your own home for deterioration... Exterior paint expires with in the 10 year time including roof paint... I have come across customers who haven't repainted there home,s for between 25 to 40 years with poor maintenance and simple checks from roof,s@ spouting to weather boards and brick homes,explaining that the preparation work to their homes is in their costs more than the material,s. 2 bedroom house,s to 5 bedroom house,s all very in costs to paint... It's length of time spent restoring the exterior to the customers satisfaction is in costs... You don't just look at the paint and slap it on. It's an art to restore getting your customers to see past the cost of materials and labor... It's also letting the customer know that his home is a valuable asset, there fixabode and somthing also to be proud of... My work is seeing past the 25 years of deterioration from weather conditions on some homes I have restored,restoring exterior homes is an art 🎨 you ether got the gift or its just simply to much work for the home owner... If you want the best you pay for the best, your home is worth more than you will ever know... After having it restored get it valued also to ease the mind of the home owner.
