Shiva Tandava Stotram:
This stotram is very powerful and has a deep meaning. It is believed to be written by Saint Ravana - known as one of the greatest bhakthas of Shiva.
Musically, this stotram is very special for us and we have been performing it since the initiation of our band. Initially we were inspired by the electric version of Shiva Tandava Stotram but we have designed our own indian contemporary version of the stotram and tried bringing a new approach to it. Our audience have always enjoyed our performance of this version, so we have made this conceptual music video of our perception.
Rasa Retrograde:
The stotram essentially sings praises of Lord Shiva and explains the bliss in getting over the worldly delusions by surrendering to the lord.
Our conceptual take in this music video is
Emotions are inevitable. They are a part of all of us.
The barriers these emotions create could hinder our lives in many ways. Let us try breaking through these emotional barriers by staying in touch with our inner child.
We chose Arishadvargas (Kama, Krodha, Moha, Lobha, Mada, Matsarya), replacing Kama with Bhaya. We tried portraying as victims to these emotions when we realise these could easily be overcome by dealing with emotions at a peripheral level like a child.
Rasa Retrograde here means,
Rasa is the emotion that we are in.
And Retrograde has a couple of meaning. In this context it means going back in time.
So Rasa Retrograde is, whenever we are involved in any emotion deeply, we could “go back in time” and reconnect with our inner child to conquer our emotional limitations.
