I waited for my daughter to be old enough to understand LOR. We finally watched it all. This scene made her jump into the air and celebrate. She said: “This is the most satisfying thing that I’ve ever seen!”.
Every time i wonder why is this trylogy so simple yet so perfect in every way possible. Is it the profound love portrayed in every scene? The perfect cast? The music? Don't know
When I first saw this movie I was in my late teens, now I'm nearing 40 and still everytime Aragorn says: "my friends, you bow to no one" I'm in tears. These three films are truly epic masterpieces!
what makes LOTR the goat, is basically the whole country was behind the movie. no hollywood movie of this scale, was ever made in new zealand, especially from an unknown director of horror/splatter film. i know so many family and friends who were cast as extras or production people, builders, accountants, caterers etc. when you have a small population of 4 million behind a movie, you bet its gonna be a once in a life-time achievement.
