This is the first lot of winter wheat we have cut. The variety is Costello and we're using the Case IH 7088 axial flow with 24ft header. Tractors are case 240 & case 180 trailers are 2 14 tonne.

Today we are mucking out, as we have all ewes and lambs outside it's time to clear the shed out. It normally takes us a day to muck and wash out the shed. Can we do it before the rain comes 🤔 British farming 🇬🇧 Thanks for watching! Like & Subscribe for more.

Good review of the drill. Looks to be well thought out. The slug pellet applicator is a nice feature. A true one pass establishment in the right conditions. 👍
@@leeforeman3656 yeah it’s definitely helps by taking pressure off trying to get over with the quad bike as it’s emerging.
Unfortunately Puma n NH equivalent have same front end problem thats why we went with baby Magnum 215 plus better resale value. Unfortunately joke if you NH tractor or header comes out of factory make sure go around machinery n tightened all bolts, there YT farmers have done this with shock of finding loose nuts n bolts.
Good evening. Nice old tractor. Back in the late 90s, I was at Kirkley Hall. They had massey 350's 230's and a 365. That was the last year they had dairy cattle. I think the college is knackered now where farming is concerned, mostly equine now. 👍
Yeah it’s nothing like it was when my dad went. I was there 2013 and the ag side was defiantly not the priority
I expect there will be a busting lot of LD subsoiling done ahead of direct drilling this Autumn after the very wet year we have just had!

Definitely not drunk just tired 😂 Was drilled at 100 seed per squared meter.
Good morning. Im new to your channel. Have you done a comparison to direct drilling vs. conventional plough based tillage. Out of curiosity, im interested in the difference in chemical useage. I assume that with direct drills, there will be more weed and disease control with chemicals. 👍
Hi there, on the chemical side we are using the same as conventional. We’ve got a 6 year rotation to prevent disease and weed issues, the only thing we do extra is going over with glyphosate before drilling spring crops if there are weeds or volunteer corn.

Pal I was helping said he’d go late May if he was desperate but he planted them 13th May last year and had his best ever crop. Think it just depends on the season.

Had a 260 on demo last autumn and really liked it, and that’s coming from a fendt driver 😂
It’s definitely a step up from the old system but it needed to be to keep up with the likes of fendt haha
You have been missed, it's probably time consuming doing all this stuff, but occasionally it would be much appreciated 👊😜

We have a 4m trailed Mzuri now. Really like the Mzuri drills.

Enjoyable video again mate I'm sure you said you had cattle in the past would you ever look at getting a few in to fatten up again or a small suckler herd.
We did have cattle years ago but don’t think we’ll go back to them. Got some new things coming in the near future :)
