Cheers!! Yeah, I really need to get some new batteries, I think mine are a bit old now. Had over 60% battery when I started recording that heat, and it died after 55 seconds. Was a real shame as well as I had a great battle with Sam Slater in that one, includes ng a nice switchback overtake into turn 1

@@Oskar.M GoPro hero 8 black. Had it since it was the latest model, so the batteries are about 3 years old, they really don't like colder days. Probably get some of the endurance batteries soon

Yeah, just one to chalk up to "experience" 😜 I still had a blast and every minute driving these karts is a joy! It's just hard to not be disappointed by the results when things don't go your way. One round this year I will not spin! 😅 That's the biggest thing for me currently, small errors on the brakes causing big problems. Catch you at Rye House! 😁

@@123wilba123 cool, see you there! Yeah, there is a standard GoPro mount on the front of the kart, they have a tether on them to loop over your mount, they are a little loose though, so I need to work out how to pack it out, maybe a little piece of cloth or something like that

The Club100 experience is just over £220 per round. It's not cheap to enter, but it is worth every penny if you can afford it. The karts are impressive, the organisation and marshalling are top class and I've not had anywhere near as much fun in any other arrive and drive karting events!

It's so long a go I can barely remember it 🤷 😂 I didn't "close the door" on him, I was on the inside, waved him past, I didn't power out of the corner like I normally would, and got better drive than him still, so then I waved a "you missed your chance" before turn in, and how would I let him through at the hairpin when I was on the inside!? 😅 Also, it was the last lap, with no overtaking opportunities left, if he was smarter he would have just stayed behind, blocked any overtake from behind and cruised to victory. 🤷 I know the guy who ended up winning and we discussed it, he agreed it was a rash attempt from the leader, the other guy didn't seem interested in talking to me after, so I didn't force it. There was nothing said by the race director or marshals to me as a result of the incident, so I can only assume it was a racing incident.

@@CrazySkindogKarting Are we talking about different situations? You were on the racing line going into a right-hand hairpin, after waving someone on the inside through. That's case set and match really if said person then careers into you. I think the moral of the story here is to be clear and predictable, as obviously both you and I and even the leader, are confused about what was going on there. Like you said, it was the end of the race and he was fairly far behind, so why even bother with hand gestures and the like? You should only really point/wave someone through when they're alongside or you're not at racing speed. Of course the eventual winner would say that... He was the beneficiary! Racing incident yes, that's probably fair, this is the kind of thing that happens in a D final.

When I say hairpin, I'm talking about the final corner, which isn't actually a hairpin I suppose, my mistake!

@@henrycarter6765 i think we are talking about the same situation, but it was a long time ago now 😅 I only waved him through as I was shown a blue flag if I remember correctly, I vaguely remember thinking he wasn't close enough for blue flags, but I may be getting mixed up 😅 I agree, clear and predictable would be ideal, it was one of those races where it started wet and dried throughout, and was a bit hectic all round, I'll admit I was frustrated by the contact earlier in the race as well, so that almost certainly clouded my decision making at the end of the race. Clint is a great race director, so if I'd have done anything completely wrong then he would have had a discussion with me. Myself and Clint did have a pretty through discussion via messages after the event and he didn't say anything about this incident. It's unfortunate for the leader, but I think is a lesson for both me and him that blue flags don't always = slow driver, and that when you know it's the last lap and you can defend against the guy behind easily, just stay calm and don't go for anything too rash. Cheers for your comments and sorry if I was a bit confrontational in my first reply, feeling like I'm getting a bit of a negative response on this video recently 😅 put me on the defensive. I hope you enjoyed the video and we get to race some day!

The entry to T4 had to be slow, due to the wet conditions, I wasn't slow there, I was driving to the conditions. You were using me as your brakes, contact into a corner is never "smooth", it is forcing another driver off line for your own advantage, it is underhanded driving, lack of experience in the wet and therefore sliding is not an excuse, adjust to the conditions. I had to drive defensively to counter your contact heavy approach, I always commentate my footage as I see it, I don't leave details out to make myself seem better, or free from blame, at no point did I force you off the track or cut you up, I stuck to a defensive racing line, if you are not at least 50% alongside (which would make you visible in the footage) then you haven't earned the right to space, and the track at Brighton weaves a lot but the racing line stays straight, particularly from turn 2 down to turn 4, it is a straight racing line, but the track is not straight, if you are not alongside, but attempt to stick your nose in either the left after the finish line, or the right as you go over the hill before T4, you are always going to run out of room because the track curves towards the racing line, it is not for me to move aside to give you space if you aren't alongside, it is for you to get alongside earlier. Your driving standards genuinely ruined this event for me, the fact you were rewarded for these poor standards just rubbed salt into the wounds, I can only hope that you genuinely look at your conduct in this race and were disappointed enough in it to improve, especially in low grip situations, contact should always be avoided and is never justifiable with "but it was wet". Drive better

Karting is non-contact, you made excessive contact and have admitted you were inexperienced in the wet, yet you try to lecture me saying my driving was poor? If you haven't driven in the wet before this race, how can you claim to know that my lines, or braking points were wrong? Your driving standards were poor, you ruined my race, and my enjoyment of the day, yet you can't seem to see anything wrong with your conduct. I hope that if we race on track together again we can have a clean, fun battle, as we all do this for fun. I'm not interested in arguing over a race that was months and months ago, so enjoy your day

@@CrazySkindogKarting you’re the first complaining that s why i m confused, cuz you kind of exagerate a bit commenting your video, i have watched your videos, and thats why i m like hold on, he does more contact than me 😅like i said my first ever race on wet and i never used u to brake! You were not confident enough to get that t4 faster that s why we lost so much time , cuz you were defending to much! When you could have followed me to get at the front , we lost so much time fighting for so many laps! Anyway you’re a good driver ! Well done!

@@IonutCosmo you think I exaggerated, I don't, that's opinions. 🤷 You claim I make more contact than you, yet I've never had a driver moan that my contact is excessive, I make every effort to avoid contact, especially going into a corner, which is where you made your contact, corner entry is critical, and any slight tap can unsettle the kart, especially in wet conditions. I was fully confident in my line in T4, I was taking the wet line to maximise my exit speed, you mistaking that as being slow just shows your inexperience in wet conditions, I had to defend heavily because you were using contact as your main weapon, the only way I could.combat that is to drive super defensive so that even if you nudge me I don't go wildly off line. Ultimately you ruined my event, you don't think your driving was out of line, I do. It's a difference of opinion and I do this for fun, not to argue on the internet. Let's chalk it up to a difference of opinion and both get in with enjoying our days, and our karting. If we race again I have no hard feelings and I hope for a clean, fun battle.

@@CrazySkindogKarting haha it wasn't too bad 🙈 I was looking around alot (which I've tried to cut down and focus forward more) but didn't feel I was being super defensive just trying to be aware. I threw my hand up being frustrated with myself as I kept making stupid mistakes and I thought I threw that position away. I knew I was sliding but didn't quite realise that much!

@@TheJelf10 looking around is the hardest habit to cut out, but it makes such a difference once you focus forwards. You've gotta have a look every now and again, but it definitely slows you up when you focus on the kart behind so much. You had pace over Wade in front early on, then as we battled he obviously got away. Lots of drivers were sliding all over the place all day, it was a weird one. I'm glad you don't think it was too bad and hopefully you still enjoyed the video, I'll see you at the next round and hopefully we'll have some more good battles over the season without me ruining them 😅

Heat 1 was just so frustrating, I've been good recently at putting it to one side and driving better the rest of the day, this day I just couldn't seem to shake it and it definitely affected my driving for the rest of the day. The karts felt so slidey all round and the rear end is so heavy on them, a lot of people were struggling. Kart parity was also a bit all over the place, so that didn't help, my kart just wouldn't accelerate out of the corners in the final, which meant I couldn't make any moves on Jeff in front! I appreciate the comments and the support man! It means a lot and I'm already refocusing on my mental resilience to not drop into that frustration again.

Cheers man!! I know, I dared to dream of a podium before the race! 😅 The recovery drive was fun though, and at least I know I have the pace to compete for the rest of the season.
