The most stupid mistake I have ever made. In the woodshop at least. There was that time I fell of a railing.

The first episode of a new project. Woodsy is going to make a simple bedside table for his cousin, Nicola.
Upcycling an antique oak dining table - full project (kinda)
Переглядів 6652 місяці тому
This longer episode will take you from start to finish of an upcycling project. Woodsy has to create a side table and 4 smaller occasional tables from an old oak dining table. Unfortunately some of the footage was lost due to a faulty SD card. Most of the work is there though. #woodworking #upcycle #upcycling #oaktable

Einhell TC-SB 200/1 benchtop bandsaw - blade change and review
looks amazing
Just recently found your channel and hit subscribe straight away. I love the down to earth style of your videos and thank you for showing that woodworking is not "super simple". I can relate so much to your frustration and disappointment when things go wrong!
Aww bless you. That's the whole point of the channel. I'm diving into epoxy in the new year, so plenty of disasters on the horizon
Thanks for sharing. Lidl offers a crazy discounted price on the Parkside Planer Thicknesser here in CZ, and AFIK that's basically the same machine rebranded. I think I may get one of those just to see how it holds up.
I think with ur band saw, try not use a fence...im thinking it binds up, then stops the saw.... free hand cut it, it will be faster than the circular saw
Not all squares are created equal! I had a try square like yours a few years back, and it was WAY out. Worth checking
I have an engineering square now so will check it out.
Hey Woodsy - love what you're doing, great channel, keep it up. Not sure if you noticed, but on top of our router bit, there's a hex key hole - you can take the bearing off and replace or clean it without risking losing a finger! All the best
Thanks for the tip!
Good, helpful video for people with this machine. Just a thought....please roll your sleeves up, it's so easy to get caught in those blades when running stock through (even when using the guard).
Amazing 🎉🎉🎉
Hi mr woods u teach me every Thursday last lesson
Hi Mrs woods
bikes are crying
I'm curious, Woodsy! At what stage do you decide "this isn't quite CUTTING it?" 😂
LOVE IT! What's that application you're looking at for the design? Or is it just an image you've found with dimensions? Absolutely love your work, Woodsy! I'm here for the ride!
Hi Ollie. Welcome. That is the free web version of Sketchup
Hi I really like this and a new wood wannabe seems doable for a novice ….. but I keep reading that oak isn’t good as a chopping board owing to its open grain . ??
Yeah, that's what they say. Probably true but still works. Don't worry about it.
@@woodsyswoodshop man after my own heart . Keep up the brilliant videos mate I’ll stay tuned
I have the same machine as you have here and get most of the same problems, changing a blade is no fun at all and you get frustrated with it after a short time. I can not cut a straight line with the guide either, so I do it by hand, bit difficult when you are only partially sighted (vision in one eye only). A comment on your video, / Always disconnect the power before working on it and don't recommend using the allen key to overide the safety devices. I did see at one time you did not put the Plastic/metal (now) guide down the left side before running it and you didn't show fitting it at all for final scene. Unfortunately some of us can not afford a superdouper Bandsaw and have to settle with the above sort of level. Anyway thanks for the video, you have shown me where I have been going wrong with replacing the blade Keith
Thanks Keith. I'm a maverick/idiot.
you should be doing the face first and then the edge.
so after a month how is it ? was thinking of getting one
Love it. Makes short work of jobs that used to take ages.
Why don't you turn around your table top with your router in the counter-clockwise direction ??? 😬😬😬
🤷♂️🤦♂️
Hi
Liked your video, haha. Thnx for the explanation. It helped a lot.
Looks great!
Looks fantastic woodsy! A masterpiece
try rufus
I thought the blade guard should go over the piece 😅😅😅
Try using a program called Recova, its free too. Ive revovered many photos using that on sd cards and hdd over the years.
That rail went on satisfyingly :)
Nice bit of kit. I've got the Triton spindle sander and that's been a useful bit of kit. 👍👍
well mate if you were not able to adjust its direction, blad-play within grips, it does not mean its a piece of crap? did it occur to you that your skills are probably crap?
That is a distinct possibility.
Free-hand routing straight lines is so hard!! I would definitely have had to use a fence or straight edge of some kind!
You're absolutely right.
knife boxes?
you got me with legs.. i line to put casters and so i can move them easely around
I can feel a big woodshop remodel coming soon. Soonish.
I can confirm that this machine is not appropriate for long straight cuts. I've set the guides to be close as possible to the blade, and applied a fair amount of tension, so it's really straight, however it still deviates during the cut. It works ok for pieces about 10 cm, but bigger than that it's impossible. NOTA: I'm using the blade that came with the machine and I have not tried other
I actually snapped the blade recently and replaced it with a wider one. Now works a lot better but still not great.
Lmao hope u enjoy Ur holiday!
Thanks G
Dual gifts 😂 you could dual wield them and increase efficiency hehe
Making a cot, something you need to tell us?
My first grandchild. I know, I don't look old enough. 🤣
i totally get your excitement! thanks for sharing!
I immediately assumed it was going to be Gwyneth Paltrow’s head.
You're supposed to shift your weight as you move the material through the machine. Press the back of the board when you go into the blade, and shift the weight to the front of the board after the blade is past the center of the material. This way you'll be referencing off of the outfeed table as the board exits the blade and it won't be able to tilt back into the infeed table.
Now that is a very useful tip. I shall try to do this from now on. Thanks.
Down-cutting blades are for laminates, worktops, etc where the up cutting blades will leave a fractured laminate on top. I don't know why you had problems as I use whatever I have to hand or is in the jigsaw - except when cutting worktops.
The down cutting blades made the jigsaw jump about all over the place
Cool 😎 thanks for sharing 👍
the 250W motor seems so cute and dandy but in the catalog they recommend a 15 minute job with pause for the motor to cool down and I was wondering if we cold change the motor to more powerful one. I found in my area a couple of motors with 2.2KW, 1.8KW and a 1.1KW for about 70 euros each. Also in my shop I have 3 phase power so having a small 700W motor with 3 phase is also possible but a bit more expensive I guess. I do believe than even a washing machine motor would be better than the silly 250W one but hey, if it works it works
Get some dowel pins then work out where the struts have to go then put dowl pins in holes in struts & simply press against the joining bit. They leave small indents where the dowels need to be drilled
hi, if you strip the jig you will notice that there is a slot in the plate that will locate off the existing dowel peg
Oooh. Tell me more
Cot
You win! It's a cot for my grandchild. Due in September.
You sound very excited 🤣
Hi, just a question about hand planing. Why aren’t you using the einhell to flatten the faces, is it not up to the job? The reason I ask is because I’m thinking of buying the same model but if it’s not up to planing the face like your doing by hand I might have to look at something more expensive..
Hi, thanks for the question. The einhell gets it very smooth but I like to "tune it up" a bit with my hand plane. I like planing and the finish is a bit better. You could definitely get away with just a bit of sanding. The Einhell is a great purchase if you are a hobbyist like me.
Any chance of a video to stop t-shirt shrinking in the wash?😬😉
I think you may have grown a bit mate 😉
Oh, I forgot to press enter with this comment last week!😮 love and kisses Grant. Great vid and awesome t-shirt👍🏻
Very cute dog 🥺
She's gorgeous
Hi just a bit of friendly advice, if you’ve got so many repeatable cuts to do instead of measuring everyone you could have fastened the plywood down so it doesn’t move and then fixed a stop block at the other end so every slat would be the same length and there can’t be any miss measuring.
