I'm on the road to Wembley!
Scrappy game in League Two!
Last weekend, I visited the SMH Group Stadium for the league two match between Chesterfield and Port Vale.
It was a scrappy yet enjoyable afternoon, and I was impressed with Chesterfield's posh new stadium!

CHAOS in the Champions League?

With so much to play for on the final day of the Champions League group phase, will it be straightforward, or will it be chaos? Here are my predictions for the 18 matches that are taking place simultaneously on Wednesday night - 16 of which still have something riding on them. With the league table guaranteed to change numerous times over the course of the evening, this should be an incredible ...

Which teams BELONG in the Premier League?
No kiddi harriers 🥲
@CharlieEllis-if8eq they were on my list but like us, fell a little bit short!
@GamingBlomp classic kiddi 😂
@CharlieEllis-if8eq hah yeah sounds really familiar that 🤣 did you go to Edgar Street on boxing day?
Well done on the Brentford prediction, very disappointing loss for us but atleast Esse scored..
@@Luke86811 Brentford are having such a good season, I think a lot of people expected them to go down. What a job Thomas Frank is doing.
Good work mate! Nothing wrong with your face lol
@MrTears03 thank you! Appreciate the support and your hilarious channel 🤣
@ haha cheers man! 😂
@MrTears03 makes me laugh every day 🤣
excellent
I hate this song with a passion and im a town fan
@DOBS13 it's an interesting choice of walkout song 🤣 Great atmosphere though, brilliant ground too - that was my 3rd visit to the SMH. Full video going live later today!
Don't agree with one inclusion but that my feelings after being a Kiddy fan for 60+ years I'm not saying Kiddy should be in the top 10 but close. I agree with the history bits some big clubs at this level, but some clubs tick over and make non league what it is 'proper football' with idiots refereeing it.
@nolanpeter2748 which inclusion don't you agree with? I trained with Kiddy for a year in the early 2000s (mainly with the youth team but had the occasional session with the first or reserves). I shouldn't say this as a Hereford fan but Kiddy is a brilliant club - I'm planning to visit Aggborough very soon! 😁
@GamingBlomp Sorry Bradford Park, your right they were there in the early days but amounted to nothing afterwards. The rest I totally agree with all have a good history in league and non league football.
@nolanpeter2748 I'm going to make a similar video over the next few weeks but base it on the Premier League era onwards - should be interesting to see how much it varies!
@@GamingBlomp I'll keep an eye open for it, good luck.
Do the Vase! Great competition and another road to Wembley. Thanks for covering us and such positive reviews 💚
@matthewevans I am really tempted by the Vase - I don't think anything compares with the passion of non-league football!
I work for the stewarsing company that does all of this stadium 😊
@AnarchyQueen. that's pretty cool! It's a really nice stadium, decent atmosphere too! I'm actually in the process of making the full video from my trip. It'll be going live tomorrow 😁
I went there it was a alright atomosphere we usually have a better atmosphere tho but a decent game
@HarryBroganfrance it probably wasn't helped by the early goal, I still thought it was a really good experience overall! My full video is going live in a few hours 😁
I think Chester City should have made the cut.
@@davidking9222 that's a great shout and they were very close!
Happy one year anniversary!
Kidderminster Harriers.. only worcestershire club to play in the league
@@jensonank2409 big club, probably going to win the national league north this year too - I really like Aggborough, aiming to come back there at some point!
Am a Sheffield f.c. fan, Now you have put Bradford park Avenue fc. On the list. Sheffield fc 1857 The World's first football club. They also have the Order of merit. And only 2 Clubs in the world have it. Real Madrid is the other club.
@terryodams2244 I'm planning a trip across to Sheffield FC at some point this season/early next - really want to do a vlog from there!
Scunthorpe should be in the top 3 having seasons in the the champions
@gsrywebley4617 all of the top 3 have too!
I think it would be interesting if Manchester City are out in the League Phase.
@Footypredictions2521 it's a strong possibility. I don't think Brugge will roll over
@GamingBlomp No they won't. They'll try to get a draw I reckon knowing that Man City have to win to even have a chance of getting to the playoffs but even then it's out of their hands.
@Footypredictions2521 Brugge aren't safe yet either - they could still go out depending on other results
@GamingBlomp Ye it's why I've gone for them to win 2-1 and clinch that safety. I've gone for PSG and Man City to drop out in the league phase though.
@Footypredictions2521 would be incredible if they both do!
football league isnt the same without york city, hartlepool, southend and bury!
@jojoniile totally agree, and Hereford of course! 😉
Great list, pleased to see Bury at No 1. Up the Shakers!
@davidshaw2296 I feel for what happened to Bury - I watched my club go bankrupt in 2014 so was hoping you guys wouldn't have to go through that. Aiming to get to Gigg lane at some point over the next few months!
Yeovil Town are a fair sized club too and still get around 3500 to games!
@brucemay5409 they'd definitely had made the top 10 if I'd based it on recent years!
My Step Dads Dad played for Bury
You win Pointless Comment Of The Thread. No one can beat this.
@@jonathanduncalf384 you are pointless ye he played in the 30s now get back to your parents spare room
@@popatyourecords that's impressive, in recent years or football league Bury?
@@GamingBlomp He played for them in the league thats all what a fanny
@popatyourecords that's impressive! I played a bit of footy when I was younger but never got higher than national north/south level, so he's better than I ever was!
Hereford v Newcastle was the biggest shock because no one gave them a chance Even the TV cameras were not at the original drawn match at Newcastle sadly 😢 Something the BBC must still be regreting especially as Hereford scored another incredible goal there too
@Irving.Monster even though it happened before I was born I still enjoy watching Ronnie Radford's goal every time the FA Cup comes round!
@GamingBlomp Me and my mate still agree that Radford goal puts goose bumps on our necks every time we see it
@Irving.Monster same here, what an unbelievable strike in such a big game! I met Ronnie Radford a few times, lovely bloke but sadly he's not with us anymore.
Bradford PA ? ! What a club were 100 years ago has no bearing on what they are now.. a local league's club with one man and his dog watching on So they wouldn't even be in my top 100 not of today anyway Though they did produce my favourite ever player.. Kevin Hector Thanks BPA but you're a tiny club now
@@Irving.Monster this list would be completely different if I'd only included recent history! Bury and Halifax wouldn't have got in either, maybe not even Torquay!
@GamingBlomp Now I see you meant bigger clubs over all time
@Irving.Monster yeah I went back to the beginning of the football league in the 1880s. I might redo the list and base it on the 2000s to see how different it looks!
@@GamingBlomp That should be interesting I'd go by televised games or living memory to appeal to more interested supporters Your voice over does the job well I think
@Irving.Monster thank you! Great suggestion - I'd probably go back to the formation of the Premier League as that's a more familiar era - Oldham would easily be top of that list and I'm not sure Bradford or Bury would feature at all!
Wait, what about Leamington FC? 😂
@@pete456113 it was so close 🤣
05:14 I always remember a player called Billy Sharp with Scunthorpe 😂 he seemed to score all the time !
@@MrTears03 I think he's at Doncaster now unless it's a different Billy Sharp!
You ought to have mentioned Hereford FC taking 20,000 to Wembley for the 2016 FA Vase Final How many non league clubs could do that? 🐂
@irvz2087 that's a really good point! Not many for the FA Vase! I'm going to be doing a video on the biggest fan bases in non league football over the next few weeks - wonder how we'll compare in there!
You are WRONG!
@jellybean8167 I guess I asked for that didn't I 🤣
And well done for getting the Brentford score correct
@Ollyfred20 thank you, I think that was the only one I got right!
At least Esse scored on his debut for Crystal palace
As an American, I love non-league clubs. The team I primarily root for in England is Chelsea (thank/blame my dad), but there are so many teams I enjoy following from lower down on the pyramid. Protest clubs (FC United, City of Liverpool, Dial Square), clubs for diaspora/immigrant communities or generally underrepresented communities (London Samurai, Sporting London e Benfica, Peckham Town, Sporting Khalsa, Punjab United), or clubs with connections to parts of my life that I find relevant (Forest Green Rovers cuz I'm a vegetarian with vegan family members, Wingate & Finchley cuz I'm Jewish, Stratford Town cuz I've been to Stratford a bunch of times and studied Shakespeare in college, Hashtag United cuz I love memes lol). There are a lot of amazing non-league teams in the USA I enjoy following, especially in my neck of the woods, like Manhattan Celtic or NY Galicia. Great video!
@SuperJNG18 thank you! I've been to Sporting Khalsa! I went when Hereford played there a few seasons ago, lovely club with great food! Have you been to many non league games over here?
@@GamingBlompsadly, while I’ve been to England several times, the last time was juuuuust before I really got into football (early enough that I got shit from a store clerk for getting a Chelsea mug and didn’t start arguing back), so I haven’t even been to a game there yet. I live vicariously through all the vlogs I watch and games I follow and hope I’ll get to go someday.
@SuperJNG18 non league football is brilliant. The atmosphere can't be beaten! Hope you manage to get to one soon! I've got a league two vlog coming over the next few days 😁
Why not have League 2 South and North, a lot less traveling imagine Bury,Oldham, Rochdale,York,Chester, Altrincham, Hartlepool, Darlington et c mixed in with current League 2 Northern teams, less travelling bigger gates then 2 go up from each and so 4 go into League 1.
@Ciara.Higgins-xz9im that would be a brilliant idea and I don't think there would be many clubs that would oppose the idea!
I'd go with that! Enough clubs and pro players for 5 divisions if all leagues were trimmed to 22 in each
@irvz2087 would be a good way to shake up the football league and bring in a few more clubs
Loved it mate. I didn’t know bury won the FA cup twice.. thank you
@russellslaney7098 ancient history now but it's still an incredible record to hold!
I've subbed...keep putting this kinda content out, I'll keep coming back, although I play games myself, im not so fussed on the gaming content on YT, but love stuff like this
@FozzQuaker thank you, I appreciate the support! I've got a few more ideas for top 10's alongside my groundhopping vlogs - I'll be visiting all of the clubs mentioned here at some point but might tag Darlington on when I'm up at Hartlepool as they're both a long way from me!
Bro got brentford correct
@lottiecooper3131 that's one more than I normally get 🤣
That 10 is quite stacked...I would have put Darlington or Chester ahead BPA, who were in the League a lot longer than BPA
@FozzQuaker it was the top flight that swayed it for me - Chester, Darlington, Aldershot, Southport and a few others could have easily snuck in to the top 9 or 10!
@GamingBlomp I was even going to include in my honorable mentions Scarborough, but they didn't have quite the heritage in the League
Agreed about Darlington. Founder members of Div 3 North, two seasons in second tier (1920s)
@@JohnWinn-p5q I'm not being biased because I support them...promise, lol
@FozzQuaker I honestly thought Scarborough were going to be up there with a shot for the top 10 but you are correct, they weren't really in the league that long.
It's BURY NOT BERRY
@@tangiers365 is it? Have I been getting this wrong for 30 years? 🤣🤦♂️
@GamingBlomp I don't know I'm from New Zealand lol it sounds like berry
@tangiers365 haha, thanks for making me doubt myself 🤣
Barnstonworth?
@@cyrilcyril1937 I made a huge mistake not including them!
FC United of Manchester are very familiar with Gigg Lane as we ground shared with Bury when first formed.
@douglasalexander6896 I remember that! There's a bit of a link between FC United and Hereford FC - I believe the United owners helped to advise ours when the phoenix club was being formed and as a result we play a friendly against them most seasons!
Never has a list better represented the plight of government funding and council funding in northern towns as this list.
@@Matthew-bu7fg there are an alarming number of Northern teams on this list, along with several others who didn't make the top 10!
@@GamingBlomp sign of the times. Look at Greater Manchester. Oldham, Rochdale on the list. Stockport did go back to non league before their recent renaissance. Bolton and Wigan, though not non league, have dropped from the Premier League to League One. The only GM team that has gone forward in recent years is Salford... because of the cash they've had injected. And that's before we even go to the other parts of the north e.g. Hartlepool and co...!
@Matthew-bu7fg it's a shame so many of these teams are struggling, especially when you have clubs like Man City spending hundreds of millions at the same time!
@@GamingBlomp and that;s the thing... the Manchester support gets plugged into Manchester City and Manchester United. This is why the 3pm blackout may still be really important, without it you may see more and more kids lean more towards watching Manchester United/City on TV rather than going to watch an Oldham or a Rochdale at the stadium!
@Matthew-bu7fg I am seriously worried for the future of non league football if they remove the 3pm blackout for those exact reasons. I prefer lower league football, there's so much passion in the non league game but the sport is slowly being altered to favour the bigger clubs which is sad to see.
Really good video.
@teamblitz1990 thank you! 😁
York have played in the 2nd tier and reached the FA Cup Semii-final. The idea that Hartlepool, Rochdale and Scunthorpe are bigger is ridiculous. Rochdale and Hartlepool have barely been out of the 4th tier.
@Robhalifax it was pretty close between all of them to be honest!
Overdid the bias fear. Hereford _ FC are a glaring omission, even though at 9 or 10. Agree with Bury and Oldham.
@richardwebb5317 initially I had Hereford 8th but looking into everyone else's history that dropped to 9th, then 10th then we were out of sight 🤣
I would add Maidstone utd to the list. Great revival at the Gallagher since returning to the town. Longing to play The Gills in the EFL again one day
@@stuartbradburn3488 would be incredible to have them back - I included Maidstone in my FA Cup shocks video a couple of weeks ago!
Have to agree with your top three. Thanks for the video.
@trevorbellTT120 no problem at all - I love making these top 10s 😁
I would have put Scunthorpe ahead of Hartlepool who had spent majority of thier history in 4th tier while Scunthorpe had at least a couple seasons in 2nd tier.
@@alexchng3781 I think in recent years they'd certainly be higher!
