Some points of interest in the Colonial District of Camden, SC. The Colonial District is the original town settlement.

How many employees developed cancer?
I met one of these dogs at my local creek. That dog was all business. Ignored anything and anyone except for the ball he wanted to fetch. Just wanted to play fetch until the end of time
This was a very informative video. Thanks for sharing. I'm planning to buy a house in Camden next summer 🌞
A very nice video but many sites and items of importance were left out. I love visiting that area as it has so much importance from the Revolutionary War. Not a lot of input on the heroes of that war, and virtually nothing on President George Washington's visit to Camden. I would think Camden would put much emphasis on both and stop allowing Charleston, a great city in itself, to claim all the glory. And visitors. Camden is a hidden treasure that needs to be promoted much more than it is.
Cute and informative video. BUT could really have the music volume turned down.
Camden has a lot of memories for me. Especially my grandfathers funeral home. Collins. I was at the Bonds Conway House dedication after it's renovation.
This is my family. Fascinating !
Thanks for sharing, I was at the dedication of the Bonds Conway House after it's renovation. Camden brings back a lot of memories, especially my grandaddys funeral home. ((Collins)
My father worked there for 31 years. With the exception of one supervisor on one specific occasion, he was well treated. He retired comfortably and appreciated the opportunity to work at DuPont's May Plant.
I have a precious Boykin called coco . Would love to adopt another Boykin does anyone know where u can adopt or find a Boykin Spaniel breeder ?
Thank u for sharing this history. I love history. I moved in Lugoff and have been here for 28 years. We go on Sunday rides and have taken so many pictures of all over. Very interesting to see how things use to be. they were the good years.
Do you have a location of that marker?
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Frederick Douglass
The Boykin is an incredible family pet and hunting dog. there temperament and size plus it's undevoted loyalty makes them the best medical alert service dogs, I'm just amazed there's not more of them out there working has service dogs. ua-cam.com/users/shorts0PlJJ5_h4eo?feature=share
It's fun to see that Brittanies were part of their early breeding. I grew up with a Brit and have had 3 including a rescue. We are expecting to pick up our first Boykin in March. Love the hammer dulcimer music!
Very nice video
This where it started for me… “DRAKEFORDS”
I'm a Drakeford. My name is Chris Drakeford. I'm from Pennsylvania, but I was raised in Kirkwood.
Great video. Thanks!
Should be the official dog of the universe. Great dogs
I work at the plant for a short time my dad worked there for 35 years before he retired and my brother worked there for 39 years before he passed away in July 2022
Wow!!! Now THAT brings back all kinds of good memories of my time at May Plant Orlon !! Its actually bringing tears to my eyes....I was there in the early 80's era and I wonder if anybody remembers old Bob Pruitt? He would always answer the phone with just a plain "Pruitt", nothing else. Anyone remember Miss Betty Horton??? She was so kind to me and brought me a piece of fruit every single day I was there. I had a total of 18 months at May Plant! If anyone does, please comment below - I'd love to hear from you. I got a small single room down the street at Proctor Hall (wonder if that place is still there). I learned more about "life in manufacturing" (also life in general) from those two than anywhere else I've ever been. I was one of those Co-op students from Clemson and had literally just fallen of the turnup truck - no kidding! I can tell you unequivocally the manufacturing plant experience I got at May Plant has lasted from that day till this! That allowed me to really hit the ground running in my career. Shout-out and cheers to Bob Pruitt and Betty Horton! You two made a difference in my life! Thank you kindly -David Tollison davidtop2@hotmail.com (my computer user ID at May Plant was ORLCOOP2, if that helps anything)
Ww1 didnt end all wars just started more
How did they go from being illiterate beat up and clueless on a plantation to owning grocery stores and being in government? Something don’t add up.
Amazing! Thank you for sharing!
President Andrew Jackson was in that jail. Pulled me right to the Land before knowing why. I felt his energy and many others. Touched the old tree still there. WIND and odd sounds. True story! I recorded the video of what happened at that Tree.
I spend ALOT of time in those Cemetaries. Kershaw pulled me to his grave. Behind a Church. Hidden away. Beautiful. The dates I read there had meaning to me. Thanks for sharing!
I love to visit Agnes of Glasgow. The love story I have learned about her since ai first found her. Love to learn History in Camden.
I love my day trips to Camden. I’m always pulled here. I have driven right to some of the sites of war with no map. I find graves in the Woods. Met a very knowledgeable Judge in Camden that secured funding to preserve some of the Land of a prior Battlefield in Camden. He was kind enough to spend a few hours of his time to walk that Land with me. I would stop dead in my tracks feeling things. Ask him if something happened in that spot. He would tell me yes. What happened . Each time I stopped it was where fighting occurred. Energy shot thru my whole body in one area near a muddy bog. That was where a lot of bloodshed occurred. Judge David Reuwer. Love to hear more about President George Washington coming to Camden.
You sound as though you may have a psychic gift. That, and/or you have tapped into past-life memories. Either way, I find your story incredibly interesting!
I would love to hear more about President Washington visiting Camden. All Camden video's skip over talking about his visit so I have come to the conclusion they don't know anything about it other than he passed through Camden. I did pick up a guidebook of sorts with historical sites of Camden. There is a house called The Washington House where a reception was supposedly held for the President, but they never feature that house in their video's, either. Or talk about the reception. I would think most or all of Camden's 'connected' people would have attended such an event. I'm a big fan of everything George Washington. Camden doesn't appear to put any importance on him.
Thanks for sharing!
Great job
Great video. I've been a Toolmaker Machinist for twenty one years.
What happened to the hotels? Are they still standing? What are the addresses?
I hope y’all will finish the series and produce more contact. It’s fascinating.
My little Drew is my sweetheart ❤️

I cannot wait to get one of these dogs. I’m gonna get a boy and name him gator.
its so great to know the history of my favorite little brown dog! much love from my frizzy haired puppy n me here in puerto rico!
This dog is very in tune with its owner. Most amazing, personable dog I’ve ever owned.
My doggo is a quarter Boykin spanial (also 1/8th German pointer, 1/8th German shepherd, and half Lab). Her coat is black, she's tall and slender - 35lbs, her eyes are honey colored and ears are large and floppy. We taught her many commands...she's easy to teach. We didn't teach her to hunt, but she loves staring at ducks. Once she went after some geese, and they turned back and chased her...now she's scared of geese.
I will say, we have to keep a watch on her big floppy ears...she gets infections easily and had ear mites once. I wonder if the Boykin spaniel is susceptible to that.
I have a Boykin and her name is penny
Danny Marshall was here. Exciting events for our beautiful city of Camden coming soon!!!
The picture of the “black” man in the nice coat at 14:21 is my GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER JOHN DRAKEFORD! 🙏🏾
Really? Treasure your history!
I’m your cousin Chris Drakeford.
