they did a doubleheader a while back about a month ago.
I believe the idea was to run one and rebuild the other. 464 is coming due for it's 1472 inspection. I'm sure 152 will be out when 464 needs a boiler wash it other repairs. They can really only run one train at a time.

Boiler rebuilds are every 15 calendar years. Something to factor in.
Richfield Park is THE Crown Jewell of the Genesee county park system. Went there as a kid back in the 70's. Distinct memories of walking down the side wall of the stone while holding my father's hand. So clean, and spacious. The trees make it very special, the way the dappled sunlight slips through the branches.I think it may be underused because younger people in Flint and surrounding areas, may not be aware of it. Great place for a family re-union, or just a short get away for the day.
This is one of the few undeveloped parks in the area, please leave it that way. The temptation is always there to "clean up" the trails a little, maybe get a restroom or two and a visitor center and before you know it it's not really a park, just another development with some trees.
Thankyou, this could be the horseback riding destination of MI and surrounding states, with a little bit of trail maintenance. Love this place.

I have been fishing at this lake for a while now. And have yet to catch anything bigger than a minnow size Blue Gill. I have never seen anything taken out of this lake that would amount to keeping. Also, It might be better to have more than just TWO access spots to this lake. The dock on the south side has a picnic table dumped in the water right in front of the dock and there is several car tires right next to the dock. The dock itself is about as rickety as it could get. Yes it is nice and quiet out there but if that is all your looking for, then Buell Lake is your ticket. As for fishing, Genesee County Parks needs to find a way to get better access to the lake and maybe use our tax dollars to stock some fish in it if at all possible.

We had so much fun on the train. First time my husband met any of my family. We spent the entire ride (badly) singing Christmas Carols. Would love to do it again, with my kids and all the new nieces and nephews.
Well worth the trip from Canada to visit. We have been lucky enough to ride in the caboose a handful of times. Can't wait to see it in it's restored glory. Be the first in line for your timed departure and ask the Conductor very nicely if it is possible to ride in the caboose. No mater where you sit on the train the ride is enjoyable. Halloween and Christmas are the best times to visit the park. Thomas The Tank Engine also stops by for a visit in the summer. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Village and Railroad. A great family destination and a must see for any train enthusiast.
