Siargao, Why You Should Go and Is It Worth It?
Siargao, is a tear-drop shaped island in the Philippines located in the province of Surigao Del Norte! Siargao is a pretty big island, but the well-known city is the General Luna.
Siargao is known for surfing and it's been hailed as the "Surfing Capital of The Philippines", but there are definitely a lot more things to do and enjoy in Siargao.
We stayed for 3 days and 4 nights in Siargao and everything we did in Siargao was well-worth it. We, of course, couldn't miss the opportunity to see the popular islands: Naked Island, Daku Island, and Guyam Island. We were able to knock all these destinations in one day.
We also rented out a scooter for a very cheap price and went away from General Luna all the way to Pacifico Beach. We also saw the Siargao Mountain View, and Magpupungko Beach, which is a natural rock tidal pool -- one of my fave!
Siargao is a must see in the Philippines.

Here are the highlights for going to Surigao Del Sur. Going to Britannia Islands, hire a boat for about 1500pesos ($30) for the whole day. Lunch is not included so make sure to bring lunch. The boat will tour you in 4 islands with the last island having water activities such as jet ski, banana boat, etc. Pro tip: go to any of the hotels before docking into the boat and have breakfast or lunch. ...
Punta Cana Airport [Arrival]

You'll have to ride a shuttle from the plane to the main building. Once you pass immigration, you'll immediately see Duty free and you'll see that this airport is insanely unique. It's an open-air terminal with palm leaves in their roofs. Fun fact: it's the busiest airport in the Caribbean and it's the first privately owned airport in the world. Pro tip: Make sure to arrive in comfortable cloth...

Chichen Itza, one of the 7 New Wonders of the World didn't disappoint us. Located in Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, this place is rich in history and culture. One of the things that really astounded us was the Sacrificial Well where they sacrificed young girls wearing heavy jewelries. Later on, they not only found bones but these jewelries that are now somewhere in one of the museums in Massachus...

Isla Mujeres is a Mexican island in the Caribbean Sea. It is 13 kms from Cancun Hotel Zone. The island is very small and riding a golf cart for an hour without stopping will get you to the south end and all roads lead back to the downtown where the ferry port is (North Island). There are tons of things to do in Isla Mujeres, but if you only have few more hours to spend, make sure to spend it wi...

Cenote is a natural sinkhole filled with freshwater. This Cenote is called Cenote Saamal in Valladolid. It is 120-feet deep and therefore the vest was mandatory. We took our Husky/Shepherd baby for the first time in the snow in South Lake Tahoe. The name of the dog park was Bijou Community Park. But we were still able to go to the dog park. We couldn't find a parking lot, but we ended up parkin...

      Yes! You still get to swim and dive! I don’t know how to swim either so it took me forever to jump! A vest is required at this cenote because without it, it’s not super safe because it was 130 feeet deep!!!!

      Mai Okutsu I do not quite remember, but I believe one excursion was to see the chicken-itza. It was combined with a trip to a Mayan village with lunch and a dip in saamal cenote. Another excursion was a trip to underground river, something that I highly recommend if you’ve never been to an underground before. I suggest to ask for a supreme tour as there are different levels in different parts of the cave and supreme is one of the best ones. Have fun on your vacation!

      Dustin Dichoso I went around January although it rained a couple of times when we went there. I asked locals what’s the best time of the year to go and they always say different months. But I’d say probably Feb - March is prob a good time as well if you want to avoid rain on January.

    Hi may i ask how long does it take from airport to secrets the vine, and can you please advice the best way to get there? Book directly to the hotel or other airport taxis? Thank you

    • @travelmore4455
      @travelmore4455 5 років тому

      eihcra Riv hi! Secrets the vine Cancun is only about 15-20 mins away from the airport. It’s one of the resorts that you will see first going into the strip. I suggest to book a shuttle/taxi from the airport before you arrive although there will always be taxis available upon arrival. I booked my trip with a shuttle from Expedia that brought me from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. It’s more convenient since you avoid the lines for getting a taxi and you won’t have to worry about getting a taxi when you’re ready to go back to the airport to go home.

    Is there a limit on the amount of food you could order? Did you do any excursions? What transfer service did you use to get to the hotel? I’m debating on coming here for my honeymoon!

    • @travelmore4455
      @travelmore4455 5 років тому

      Hi Keeley Chang!!! The hotel is all-inclusive so you can eat all you can. Even drinks are unlimited. It already comes to the price you pay. Note that restaurants close during certain hours though but there are snack bars available by the pool area and inside the hotel as well. I used Expedia for the transfer service and yes I did excursions. I got my excursions from TripAdvisor. They can pick up and drop you off from your hotel. My husband and I enjoyed this hotel! It was our first time in an all adult and all inclusive hotel like this and it was a game changer!!

    • @dbskkeeleyyyo
      @dbskkeeleyyyo 5 років тому

      Travel More thanks for the response! I was just hesitant with booking through a third party site such as Expedia or Priceline. Did you have any complications? Why did you chose to do your excursions through Expedia instead of the hotel itself?

    • @travelmore4455
      @travelmore4455 5 років тому

      Keeley Chang hi keeley! Even me was really hesitant at first and I even called the hotel just to make sure I had it booked! They gave me confirmation from the airlines as well so that I had to check! But everything was smooth! They were there when we arrived, and they were on time when they picked us up back to the airport. No problem at the hotel also. After my first booking at Expedia, I didn’t book anywhere. I booked my Philippines and my Dominican Republic with them and no problem at all! :) expedia is way cheaper than booking directly on the hotel in my honest opinion.

    Hey nice video, what kind of entertainment or games and how was the entertainment? How late are things open like food and bar/club? What month did you go in and did it feel crowded? Does it feel like a good place for a young crowd , older or good for either? I'm going in August. If you dont mind answering, Thanks. Again nice video.

    • @travelmore4455
      @travelmore4455 5 років тому

      Roon027 hi! There were different entertainment scheduled everyday and every night. We didn’t go to every entertainment because we had tours during the day. Restaurants are open til 11pm, but there is a 24 hr room service included as part of all inclusive. We went in January and it wasn’t crowded. The hotel is huge and people don’t stay in the same places at the same time. This hotel is only for adults so ages 21 and above I believe. I’m only 27 and my husband and I definitely enjoyed this hotel. I’ve seen older couples around 60-80 years old and some of them have been there more than once, so they must have really liked it. August should be a good time. Feel free to read the details under the video. I put more details on there and hopefully it helps. Hope you enjoy your stay!
