Marshall Traction Engine 'Jess' Climbing up the Ashdown Forest
Sounds like a Cummins
Not the correct exhaust pipe should be poppy red enamel.
Tractor was struggling awful smoke out of it .
Sweet tractor, but why do these guys all do that silly little throttle blip between shifts? Sounds silly. Shifting without clutching I assume.
Boy racers on tractors I wouldn't let them near them.
I believe it's called "double clutching" and "rev matching". You clutch in, move from one gear into neutral and clutch out, step on the throttle to get the engine speed to the correct rpm for the gear you're downshifting into. Then you clutch in again, move the shifter into another gear and you clutch out. This shifting method is much better for the drive train. Old school truck drivers have used this method for many many years. Old machinery didn't even have synchronized gearboxes, so double clutching was a must.
It has a non synchromesh gearbox so u have to rev match it to get into gear without grinding and sending a shock up through ur hand with the gear grinding 🤣🤣🤣
These machines go on ,looked after will do a job of work decades after leaving. The works.
Now he's another day older And deeper in Dept...
Proper operator
How much
Love it
Good tractor
Reeky

Perkins
Love the DB's. We had a 1210 when I was a kid in the '70s and early '80s and still have an 880.
Ye love to see David Browns
Oh man that spreader looked extremely bad compared to the regular ones but I guess this type had their benefits also.
I remember with side spreaders the biggest fear was losing a chain in a silage field , I lost one once and couldn’t find it so I rolled the hell out of that field 😁
Almost like a MB-TRAC: ua-cam.com/video/XonyaWAJty0/v-deo.html 😂!
FORD IS GOLD 💪👌 SIMPLY THE BEST 👌❤️👍💪
You have said it
don't show this video to Greta Thunberg she 'll have a fit
Came for the tractor left because of music 🤣
Some sound
I drove an L reg 996 when I was a student. One of the best tractors I have ever driven, it pulled like a train.
This was exactly the same equipment that l used for manure spreading in 1977 ,happy days the DB 995 we had had same flexi rear screen but bucket release was trip wire not double acting spool valve as in this film ,on the Howard rotor spreader we had a DB 990 with canvas lambourne cab or 1210 with DB safety cab
what size pipe you running on her
Either 2 1/4 or. 2 1/2 inch
@@jackwaterman996 cheers mate going to get one for my 990

The Brown were a great tractor on the PTO, MUCH BETTER than a similar HP ford
Just wonderful!
Great video, well done.
Who's tractor is it
Good vid....never seen a sledge put the bales in the kind of configuration before
Cooks four on four system... Cooks are still making bale handling equipment through Scottish firm Richie..
1964 combine , 1971 tractor , things were built then , not thrown together , my boyhood , who can remember what these combines sounded like , ? they didn,t roar , they intensely hummed , well balanced . Built in Kilmarnock , Scotland , the original Massey - Harris factory . The grain trailer driver would get shouted at by the gaffer these days for proceeding as gently as that on the road , mad lot now , then , driving safely with a precious load , now he,d get bawled at something like " that bloody tractor,s 75 horsepower , bloody well use ,em , you 'ent got time to dawdle about" . What does this attitude help ? nothing , just makes everybody get their back up , & look for another job , then tell 'Im to stuff it ! .......This isn,t progress , just stress , & rural depopulation , because the guy telling 'Im to stuff it was probably living in a job tied cottage , so ,house gone also . Please spend a few moments thinking about this , we remaining farm workers have to handle these issues daily , or just get out . This is a bit off the cuff , but it,,s the facts .
The farming pace has changed in 40 years with increase of acreage dramatically and the strictest of supermarkets etc
Yes but Philip is right farmers with millions of pounds of land asset treating their workers with poor pay and idle threats. We all understand pressure but making people work 18 hour days on single time isn’t on. Farm workers are a loyal lot and their hard work is often unrecognised. The pressure is intense. I’m glad I don’t farm anymore.
See In rural areas girls are lucky enough to have NORMAL estrogen - testosterone balance. In urban areas womens testosterone levels are way too high and thus they look and act harsh, masculine and are oftentimes infertile. In rural areas the food is pure and the milk is especially fresh. Thus ensures a lady develops bigger than a C cup and is not covered head to toe in acne and androgenous hairs!!
Why the music I want to hear the tractor
D.B. 1210 on the forager to belt the horsepower down the shaft , & get the fine gear ratio,s & a little dexta scurrying about with silage trailers , a little tractor like this tipping up possibly 3 1/2 tons of silage & doing it safely , same unstoppable spirit as an M.F. 135 , if I drove a tractor like these around here now I would be stopped on blues & 2,s & arrested in about 10 minutes , when undesirable others can make threats to kill & get off with nothing much said ; why would I get arrested ? NO LIGHTS , OR NO. PLATES ON THE TRACTORS ! This apparently matters far more than threatening to kill somebody , Britain , ( I refuse to call it great ) won 2 world wars , then completely lost the plot . Emigrate like my old dad wanted to . For the sentimentalists out there , all the machines you see in this were made HERE ! Unbelievable now . Ford tractors , made in Basildon , Essex , David Brown tractor , made in Meltham , near Huddersfield , South Yorkshire , Bamfords forager , made in Uttoxeter , Staffs , Weeks trailer , made in Hessle , North Humberside ,I have been in 2 of these factories , Ford,s & David Brown,s while they were running , now all but the "Ford " plant shut , & that plant now owned & ran by a division of Fiat , ( New Holland ) . Your wonderful post - industrial britain , you can keep it .
Mate have a snickers
You talk some shite lad
Lovely videos. Good quality for the time
Lovely .The dexta was showing its age.
The Dexta was also a scraper tractor at this point hence the rough and ready look 👍
I love the 5000
perkins comonrail?
I think it might be a sisu engine idk maybe a perkins
Perkins
Classic 😁 And we thought the pick up hitch was modern 👍.. I saw the last of the hay meadows and the village gang with home brew. Silage and mono farming ending most of our wild life. I do believe we could have mechanised high food and abundant wild life too with out greed and toxic 🌍 #buzzofftoxic
Elle fait plaisir cette vidéo..... Simplement ...
