This hits me right in the childhood lol XD these were my favorite toys… I would cry if one got broken, they were my favorite thing to play with and I would take them everywhere and played with them constantly I had a huge tub full and a gallon bag full of my favorites if we went to my grandparents they came with me, I set up battles everywhere and anywhere and could spend hours playing with them, those were simple times and the best of times

I remember when I was about 6, I caught the D-Day drop scene from Band of Brothers on TV and I would recreate it by holding this Lego plane I built over the stairs and then drop my green army guys with the parachutes from the side door.

I was raised as an only child so I never had any brothers or sisters to play with but loved these toy soldiers. It was so much fun setting up intricate battles around the house, each with its own unique story. Felt similar to playing Dungeons & Dragons except with army men. Thanks for the video😊

I believe the missing trooper in the 1995 bucket is a fun reference to the trooper that was smushed in the first movie! LOL

I bought 2 variants of this set, mine I think were just slightly higher quality, or maybe not. I use these Americans as Australian and New Zealand, British and Tan Timmee as British, Japanese as Japanese, but after 70 years and Godzilla movies the Japanese have joined the Allies, German and Grey Timmee are Arab Alliance! LOL

I just discovered this channel. Growing up, my favorite toy were plastic army men. I would spent hours and hours playing with these things. I had my parents buy my all different kinds of these. I have a couple buckets of those bucket o soldiers from 2008-2009 era as well. You just brought back so many memories for me. There was a third mold type for the bucket o soldiers. I’ll have to look for them when I go back to my parents house.

Just ordered Iwo Jima playset, Saipan playset, 16 piece fern and palm trees, Marx Japanese troops and extra od green Amtrak for my Pacific BATTLE GROUND Display all from BMC TOYS. THEY ROCK. THEY are supposed to come out with a Pacific battle ground playset by end of 2024

Wtf....I had those back in 2003. I had the exact same 1995 soldiers. I still have a few. This is weird because...I am from Bangladesh. I bought them from a shop near my home. They didn't come in a bucket but a set of 2. The US vietnam era soldiers and ww2 era british 8th army.

When I was a kid, I think I had that middle sized one. It might be in the garage somewhere at my folks house still. We also had the big c130 & some others. My dad had a bunch of WW2 Marx kits too as well we used to play with

I remember playing with a bucket of army men, but I don't remember if it was toy story version or what, and I don't remember if my brother and I owned it, or if it was a friend. The 2017 ones looks so bad compared to the 1995.

lmao the comment about the muzzles facing the ground vs being level and aimed at the enemy on the old vs new reminded me of being a little kid and bending the rifle barrel so it was aiming "forward" xDD

I remember when I was being potty trained my parents bought a bucket of soldiers and every time we (my twin brother or I) had a successful trip we would receive a toy soldier! Such a good core memory! I also remember when I was 8 getting a daisy red rider BB gun and my brother and I got a toy solider set, it had tan and green soldiers and a few vehicles. We each picked a color and set them up in a massive battle in our sand box, complete with trenches and emplacements. We then took turns shooting at the opposing sides soldiers until one had no men left standing.

It's kinda sad to see how the modern molds have a lot less soldiers actually pointing there weapons and the dude swinging the overhead rifle doesn't even have a bayonet anymore.

Thanks for making some very nostalgic content for me. I've gone through almost all of your videos seeing a lot of the vehicles and playsets that I always wished I could have when I was younger and played with my army men all the time. (Parents would never let me get the ac-130 no matter how much I asked.) Lot of smiles and telling myself "Wow, that would have been so cool!" lol.
