    Heya. Is this guitar OK for ppl with small hands I hear it's kinda chunky? I Have an Jackson King V JS32 (2010) - I find it kinda thick but it's OK-ish And something like the JS20 seems really comfy for me in the same time. With that in mind should I avoid this one (can't sadly play it live)

    • @digital360

      Its not too think on the neck. I compared the circumference of the neck under the strings around the 12th fret and it came in at 5 3/8", same as my mim fender strat. only my very thin necks lick my Schecters are 1/8" less. Although this neck is a tiny bit thicker at the backside, its not as wide as some others so those measurements kind of offset each other.

    Hello, thanks for the great video! I've been trying to troubleshoot my problem with my sound and was on a search for demo, for reference. I want to ask, are these sounds unprocessed? I don't know much about such things, i'm getting into this world of digital stuff and working on music, i've heard that many people do post process their videos/sounds so i want to ask about this. Thank you!

    • @digital360
      @digital360 14 днів тому

      Thank you for the kind words! I did not add any processing at all to these tones. No EQ, compression or other enhancing plugins to make it sound better. I may have boosted the volume in my video editing software to "normalize" the different tones, but thats about it. If you are looking to get into digital amp sims (amp plugins), Neural DSP and specifically Nolly X is a great one to start with. You would not be disappointed whatsoever. If you care to elaborate on your sound issues, I can def help you to diagnose possible causes or solutions. Good luck with it either way!

    • @Bilge-ko5qp
      @Bilge-ko5qp 13 днів тому

      @@digital360 Thank you so much!! That's what i've been looking for, raw unprocessed tone demo :) Wasn't expecting an offer to help, i appreciate it a lot!! I have a few Neural plugins, i've been using them for 2 years now but i'm very new in digital gear stuff and have been experiencing issues with my sound. I've found out that my guitar and even cable had problems, got all of them fixed but i still can't get over how low and mid oriented my guitar sounds through them so i've been trying to figure what's been going on. I have Nolly X, Gojira X and Mateus Asato which i can't get satisfying overdrive or distortion tones because i have this low and mid heavy sound coming from my studio monitors. My placement is not good at all but when i've contacted the company they told me it's no problem and the dip switches would take care of that, i use them right next to walls due to lack of space. I've done everything to try to fix it but no luck so far. I can't even turn amp knobs too far from noon positions because it gets very problematic and uncomfortable. I'm using an ibanez HSS guitar through Focusrite 2i2 (4th generation, no clipping/hot pots issue) and instrument mode turned on, very little gain on it and to plugins either to a DAW or Standalone. In short, my guitar sounds very low and mid heavy plus my high gains aren't satisfying to my ears, like they lack the punch (this may be due to inequal frequency volumes, i don't know). Sorry for keeping it long and taking your time but here it is. Thank you for your kind support! :)

    This should have been titled: In my humble opinion. A little research would be helpful here. How many of the "flaws" you pointed out were changed because of Fender ownership? When (failing sales) Charvel sold out to the Japanese in 1989 they didn't have a model (pup configuration) like the DK22. How great did Stevie Ray sound playing the rear pup on his Strats? If it weren't for Fender there would have never been a Charvel, In the beginning or now. Scores of companies existed by copying Strats. I'm trying to think of how many Charvel endorsees' there are compared to Fender Strat endorsees. Many super players of today play the stock rear pup on a Strat and sound great and are legends. Rear pup tone is a minor fix that takes less than a half inch of wire and a soldering iron. I'm not putting down Charvels they are great guitars but they are not superior to Fender, who could cancel the company and still maintain their great business selling the many variations of the Strat they offer. "Everybody" doesn't want the rear pup reversed. It's a minor thing to Fender who sell 100:1 Strats vs. Charvels. What comes out of the guitar is based on the talent of the player.

    The walls of your local guitar store are oozing humbucker loaded guitars. Strat and Tele have their unique original voices, which have proved their effectiveness over several decades. I really don’t get the point why all that originality and greatness should be tuned to sound like any other generic guitar. You have a plethora of single coil Strat bridge pickups available. Some of them are ice picky and some of them are not. One of my favorite pickups are Fender’s Eric Johnsons signatures. They are really balanced and not icy picky at all.

    tell me! tell me! tell me! Edit: for me a single sized humbucker doesn't sound right. and for the slant of bridge pickup, I find the bass strings are too bright (even under a palm mute), so I cant imagine how bad the reverse slant must be. that charvel has the gilmore switch mod. you can make your own no load pots with an exacto knife. there is a school of thought that a 2 point trem is more brittle sounding than a 6 point. it wasnt that long ago that anything non USA made was inferior. Neck thickness is up to the user, but they have been getting thinner and thinner just like the metal in cars.

      @@digital360 Jay, where did you learn to play? Sounds great. Do you use anything specific? (apps, books, youtube etc)

      @mikeyizzi-qx3jx I’m self taught. I picked it up in college. Started with classical violin and then piano as a teen. These days I just try to stay current with modern bands and techniques. I follow a few guitarists in YT to help stay fresh.

    I have a DK24 HSH in Green. I've had it for 5 years now (wow time flies), I play it almost exclusively over both my 04 Les Paul and 91 Strat, both American standards. I don't think I've played a faster more comfortable neck to this day. The Ibanez AZ is close, but also twice the price. Truly a spectacular Superstrat!

      @@frishdaw dude that’s awesome! I love that green one too. Yeah these necks are insanely comfortable. People that don’t know, don’t know what they are missing.

    There's also a 123 minutes video on the flaws of the Les Paul online. And that's only part 1 of 3.

    I think Leo Fender back then was going for that "twang" sound that's probably why he put the bridge pickup in that angle, but nowadays yeah it doesn't make sense.

    It's unfinished looking somehow I think, a tad costly for what it is and it can't quack properly like the real deal, not a fan of the finish on the colours available, it's pickups and switching are designed more for driven tones, sounded right though for that.

    Great vid! I had the pink DK24 and had similar feelings vs all my vintage strats. I think a downside though, those floating Gotoh trems are definitely much harder to setup and balance than a vintage trem. They are butter smooth when setup, but I could never get mine to stay in tune (even after pro setup). The finish is extremely thin, and glosses easily as you mentioned, it dings really badly too compared to a normal poly finish!

      Thanks broski! I agree completely with the finish concerns, and yes I try hard not to ding any of my axes but being mostly a home musician, I keep mine pretty good. I don't find it too difficult to setup gotoh trems. Maybe I should do a vid on that some time.
