The Lötspitzenactivator is probably flux
Nope! It's a mixture of mild abrasive to scratch residue off of the tip and fresh solder grains to re-coat the tip afterwards. You can check out the product link in the project's bill of materials and take a look at the description/data sheet. It works pretty well and elongates the lifetime of tips that I would otherwise have considered "burnt beyond proper cleaning".
I was seeing shorts of those laser projectors and I was like "This is super cool but expensive, I wonder if there's a way to do it with a regular projector" and bam, you alrready did it. Super cool project!
@@Omlet221 And it's much less dangerous when shining it into a crowd 😊 Glad you like Blaize!
I found a fork for this that provides an OSC input library. Is that fork stable? Are there any plans to add OSC input to the main branch? The reason I'm asking is because I'm behind Alva Sequencer and someone's asking about sequencing projector light shows. If Blaize has OSC input, then my software can work with yours to provide robust sequencing capability.
this is so cool thank you so much! I live life the same way, as in make it dont buy it. love ur channel. subbed for life
Awesome, thanks for stopping by 😊🎉
Where does the cable go?
Is there a specific type of projector I would need?
Nope, you can use whatever you have access to. A modern, bright projector with a wide field of view is great, but Blaize 3 produces awesome visuals even on ~15 year old devices ;) Tip: Increase the contrast and saturation in the settings of your projector to maximum.
@@BodgedButWorks thank you! :)
How it works, what I need except laser and software to control? Any other piece of hardware, box or anything else?
Hey, wirklich sehr cooles Video!
Mac option says there is something wrong when I goto launch and I should move the app to the trash :/
Wie soll ich das Passwort Enter machen? Ich drücke Enter, aber es passiert Nix.
Hi, I love that you've put this out into the world and it looks fantastic. I've opened it up on my Mac using Processing which seems to have worked, but it's asking me to input a password before I'm able to do anything. I can't find any mention of this on the github page or readme file, do you know what's going on here and how I might continue past it?
I figured out the password by searching through the code in Processing! Not sure why it was setup that way but still, I'm glad the info was in there.
Thank you for this series! I was following along and also couldn't get the "round edges for cutting" behavior to work the way I wanted via the "Corners" Path Effects. tl;dr is that by _unchecking_ "Use knots distance instead of radius" (which you still have checked in the video) and setting method to "Force Arc" I was able to get a path that perfectly fit my example "cutter head" circle, both inside and outside the line. Hope that helps and thanks again!
Nice, thanks for taking the time to share your findings!
Man would love an STL or similar file to just print the whole thing. I’ve got a printer, but none of the tools needed to mill the box.
And that's why I included the 3D print files in the ShaperHub project! Link in the description.
Thanks for all the tips, I'm just wondering if there's a minimum size strike that origin can read? I recently set it very thin black stroke with black full, and the origin showed the cut as a guide line.
Hi! I'm unaware of any minimum stroke width requirements for Origin. You could double-check that the hexadecimal color string ist indeed #000000ff (no red & green & blue, full opacity).
New to this but i believe the paste is refered to as tip conditioner but i could be wrong
Hi, cool software! I've only got one issue, the blaize app stays on my main monitor, instead of moving to the projector when using control+arrows, any fix for that?
Thanks for stopping by! Did you set up your projector es an external display to the left of your main monitor (see 01:58)?
@@BodgedButWorks Yeah, I'm pretty I did. I'll check again once I'm in the theatre (probably in like a week or so)
@@kaashout578 If that isn't it, try changing which display is the "primary" one.
I did not know about the height adjustment in the support bar for Workstation, wow thank you so much for the tip!!! i've had so many Z related headaches because i swear my Origin lifts the slightest amount when i ride over the support bar. going to fix that now
Sweet ;) You're welcome.
Feature idea- Import custom PNG or SVG logo
Is there any way to automate the effects to change at a certain moment in the set similar to lasers on DMX?
Hi, no, there is no DMX/Art-Net functionality yet.
Don't use this video format it is terrible.
This is amazing
What type of projector would you recommend for the best results? Like is a laser projector better than a normal bulb projector for this?
More modern projectors usually have a wider field of view and are brighter, but I'm actually impressed by how nice even my ~18 year old projector looks with some fog and Blaize. Ergo: I'd recommend using whatever you have available. Tip: Cranking up contrast + saturation in the projector's settings enhances the effects even further.
Has anyone ever gotten this to work in Linux? I have tried the current linux package, but I can't get it to work. Error output is: Blaize_v3.0.2_linux-amd64/java/bin/java: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error. --- Edit: It runs from source just fine, so i'll do that instead.
About 7:00 in v1.32 the Document Properties is very different.
At 6:30 you changed Behavior > Steps > inset/outset to 0.1000 mm. In the image I see that you set the arrow keys and scale to 1.000 mm. I did the same just because it is in your video. Was this the correct action on my part?
At 6:15 you selected Transforms and deselected "Scale stroke width" to ensure it used your preferred width but I don't understand how you set this width.
If I understand correctly, you want to change the width/thickness of a shape's stroke. Take a look at 24:30 in the video concerning the respective Inkscape toolbar (Fill & Stroke).
Wow - your invention is close to a real innovation! Hopefully you’ll gain a lot of customers soon as the festival season is in front of the door!
You can also just print dominos :) it works!
Can the smoke harm some projectors?
ah love rotating my monitor
I just want to say THANK YOU <3 the app is amazing. I just tried it with the Android remote app and it is just flawless. My only comment: with the remote app, I can strobe at will, which is awesome. It would be amazing tho if there was an "auto" toggle with the strobe? Maybe there is and I haven't found it. THE LINE TOOL is just god sent. Btw, I saw that you already have the VidMap squeezed up in there. I'll be keeping my eye out.
and for mac m1 pro ?
Do you have a parts list? I absolutely love this and thank you.
Glad to hear you like the project, thanks for stopping by! There is a parts list and - even better - a brand-new video covering the full build process! 😊 You'll find a link to all design files and the bill of materials in that video's description.
At 6:45 you use Outset and Inset to change the size of the rectangle, but the edges are no longer square, and the corners no longer sharp. I'm trying to use the Outset tool, and I'm seeing the same thing happen with objects and paths on my computer. How can I fix this so that the basic shape remains?
start with a document that has px as the units and scale of 1. It's ok to change the units after that, and let the scale value change automatically. Clearly, there is a bug in the software.
Great combination of skills. An awesome wood box made with a milling machine, by some dude who wanted a portable soldering kit for doing electronics! I will pick up some ideas from the How To video for mine. ;)
Awesome, have fun during the process!
I would love to get the Measure Tool to display X and Y measurements. Is that possible?
Just messed with the measure tool settings a bit, but haven't found a way to achieve that behavior as of now.
Thank you so much, particularly for the instruction on how to negate the effect of stroke on object size using Geometric Bounding Box. Very helpful! I am still trying to figure out how to move or copy an object with respect to two points not on the object. For example, if I want to move a shape by the distance from one corner of a square to another corner of the square, but the object to be moved is not on the square. Simple in CAD, just move selected items from reference point to target point. Done. Any ideas? Vielen Dank!
I can imagine either using the "Move" menu (can be opened under Object->Transform) or typing in the desired translation as an addition into the X/Y position fields, e.g. "23+4,5". In both cases, you need to know what distance you want to move your shape, e.g. by measuring it first. Moving between two reference points doesn't seem to be implemented, but you could bodge that behavior by drawing a line between your shape to be moved and your reference square's first corner, then selecting that line AND your shape and moving both until the line hits the second corner of your square. Snapping has to be active of course. Hope that helps 😊 Thanks for watching!
I accidentally discovered that you can select an object, press Alt on keyboard, then move the object between two reference points not on the object. The downside is that object-snap doesn't work, only grid snap.
I see you still have the shirt I hand printed for your birthday when you wouldn't shut up about shaper 😂
Indeed! It's now the inofficial "Lifestyle Edition" shirt 😉 But I can assure you, I still don't shut up about Shaper.
we call it solder flux or resign
The Lötspitzenaktivator? It's actually not just flux (i.e. to aid in the soldering process), but rather a mix of abrasive particles and solder that softens around ~300°C and allows the hot soldering tip to be scraped clean AND coated with fresh tin at the same time. It's fantastic for refurbishing "burnt" looking solder tips that would otherwise need to be replaced. More info on the manufacturer's website: www.ersa-shop.com/ersa-l%C3%B6tspitzenreaktivator-bleifrei-dose-p-13605.html
Congratulations and a good new year
Thanks, happy new year to you too!
Is there any way software could produce animations based on sound, music that is around?
So happy to have you in the team!🎉
Congrats on the job!!
Thanks! :)
Wow! You deserve the new job! Have always loved your shaper videos!
Thanks for your continued support and your kind words 😊🎉🎉
Congratulations on the new job!
Thank you 😊🎉
🙂👍 very nice Viedeo!! THX
Would be awesome if you added the ability sync to midi so it could be started with a sequencer. But I think I can build something similar to this program using Blender
There have been efforts to add OSC support in the past: github.com/tylerstraub/Blaize_V3_PWFB
Just thank you for being such a kind human to develop and share this with the world. I Really love the programming world for that, kindness and just wanting to make the world easier. Thank you will defently test this out :)
Thanks for your kind words and for being interested in using Blaize! People like you make sharing it worth it 😊 Please take some photos of your setup when everything's working! 💡
Thanks for these two GREAT video clips, I find I keep coming back to review these points. I am recently retired engineer, and just finished a small DIY CNC that I am learning about all this stuff whilst doing a few projects for Christmas. I am a newbie to CNC and inkscape, so this was most helpful to me. Any chance you could review the area selection under the inkscape gcode extensions?
That's awesome to hear 😊 Thanks for sharing your story and all the best for your DIY CNC project! I haven't yet used the GCode extensions (and don't have any workflows which require direct GCode manipulation), so I'm afraid I have no useful knowledge to share in this regard.
