    Good video. I've been following news from TransAstra very closely. Inexpensive space lift promised by SpaceX will open up a floodgate of new ideas, including new perspectives on asteroid mining projects. My favorite part is the audio. The photos are excellent, of course, but that deep crackling thunder somehow does a better job of conveying the massive scale. It's a 10 story building! Which flies. To Mars.

      A new benchmark for any audio system: how does it reproduce the sound of a rocket launch? I keep running out of amplifier headroom for these headphones.

    • @YourSpaceJourney
      @YourSpaceJourney 6 місяців тому

      I’m really impressed by the dynamic range of the sound captured by the iPhone. I normally record Falcon 9 launches from between 3-4 miles away using an iPhone as well as my Zoom H-6 recorder. The Zoom has always outperformed the iPhone in that case. Starship however from 6 miles away was louder than any other launch I’ve recorded. I think the distance was sort of a “sweet spot” in that the sound was loud enough to be perfectly captured but not too loud as to be distorted. In other words I lucked out lol
