Solar Eclipse, Chop Down Leaning Trees, Target Practice, 70th Birthday @ Off Grid Cabin in NE Texas
Visited our little family cabin in NE Texas to see the solar eclipse, celebrate our Dad's 70th, knock down and cut-up some precariously leaning cedar trees, and overall clean-up the area. Had an awesome time and as always, can't wait 'til next time!
Thanks for watching!

Onetigris Tegimen Wall Tent - Winter Hot Tent Camping Nordhouse Dunes of Lake Michigan for 3 nights

Join me on a hot tent winter camping adventure! I spent 3 chilly and windy nights in the Nordhouse Dunes of Michigan, beside Lake Michigan. It was an awesome adventure, including some tremendous hikes, sledding, hot stove meals & drinks, amazing sunsets, and much more! I continued my use of the Onetigris Tegimen wall tent and it performed quite well. The trip was a success and I will return aga...
Winter Hot Tent Camping in Onetigris Tegimen | 2 Nights Winter Camping in Nordhouse Dunes, Michigan

In March 2023 I headed to North to Free Soil, MI- Nordhouse Dunes to be exact. I purchased a new wall tent, the Onetigris Tegimen for testing and winter camping. It wasn't terribly cold as it's been a mild winter, but the small wood burning stove kept things very comforable. I also hiked over to Lake Michigan and hiked in the woods and made some tea. Throughout the adventure I prepared some tas...

In this episode from May of 2022, it is hot, hot, hot! I honestly didn't get too much done and didn't do much filming, but still managed to get a few things checked off the list. I added a cheap gutter/bucket backup water collection system, along with a redundant shower for hygiene. Join me on a hot tent winter camping adventure! In January 2022 I headed to Nordhouse Dunes to do some hot tenting in a D.I.Y. teepee. @@WillieMakeit when you say 1/2" pvc, just over your front for pulling, or along the side ropes between you and the sled to maintain consistent distance between you and sled? I've considered trying that if so..

PEX tubing is better material in my option. the long gun rail tubes running back to the sled, rope threaded through both sides always help to to stop the sliding and jerking. dog with a correct harness and a long teather helps to. they like to work.

      Nurnberg parking lot, and if that's full, then it's free on one side of the dirt road leading in. I've never seen that entirely full, but I suppose it's possible. If you do have to park on the road and have more than 1 person going, it's nice to go through the lot and drop your stuff off near the trail before parking. Good luck!

    Why did you leave your bacon on your stove way after it was done while you ate some? I bet you burned it. Great clip. I feel hot tenting in Winter will be better than burning up in the Summer. I'll probably burn up in the tent but I can go outside where it's cold. I know you have to vent excess heat many times. It's frequently hard to cool down in the Summer. Portable rechargeable misting fans work quite well from what I'm told. I'd still rather camp in the freezing snowy weather and warm up in the tent. Cooling off is too easy in the Winter.

    • @MTCOutdoors
      @MTCOutdoors 2 роки тому

      Ya, you can read the lay of the land a little better if you walk the treeline/dunes, although it's a little more arduous than the beach. Shoot left when the trail spills out into the beach. The further you go, the more privacy you'll probably have.

      Definitely nice to come back to a cabin and get warm and cozy! It amazes me how little one needs to feel satisfied.

    Hi, I see you have both model of the explorer. Is there any difference between those two? I also have the newer model and I heard the material it's not as good as in the old one.

      The material in both of ours was the same and held up quite well. I haven't checked out the latest version so I'm not sure on if they changed it..
