Wargames Atlantic is coming out with their "The Damned" line of plastic kits, from their successful crowdfund campaign. They have a very similar aesthetic to what's found in this build, with the spiked, gas mask helmets and distressed uniforms. I've got a ton of models coming in from that campaign. (In fact, as of this writing, the Gamefound project is STILL accepting late contributions, which I highly recommend due to all the free sprues that come with pledges.) I'll definitely be using some of what I learned here to individualize my dudes.

If I may ask, why aren't you a fan of the current Plague Marine aesthetic?

I highly recommend the genesteler neophytes for shotguns, 10 per box. They also have 2-3 per box of atlan jackals if you can find a GSC player who prefers autoguns. Slick greenstuff work on this one, very nice.

9:38 have you considered that there's been 100,000+ primaris marines fighting for several centuries by the most recent 40k Lore? Even with the retcon that guillimans crusade was only like a decade or two it is heavily implied that primaris have been a thing for at least 100 years. Even without the many large clashes between Loyalis Asdtartes including both Firstborne&Primaris and Traitor Astartes like what happened during the Plague Wars, the 13th Black Crusade and the Arks of Omen Campaigns[yknow, when an entire fucking Indomitus Crusade Fleet other than GreyKnights, Custodes, Blanks&some especially faithful Loyalist Mortals were corrupted with a Daemonic Rage Curse BY KHORNE HIMSELF] that is plenty of time for Traitor Astartes to get their hands on primaris wargear, and even enough time for some Primaris SpaceMarines to fall to Chaos, even just by Veterans of the Long War stealing small supply shipments for Astartes Chapters or dragging off the wargear of a few Loyalists they killed in a skirmish. Although whoever converted those 2 lads should have defiled the aquila&imperialis on their bolt rifles.

15:30 btw, every horus heresy plastic tank has the tank accessory sprue which comes with some plastic mk. II power armour bits including some open hands like that, and some neat binoculars&tablets. also a bunch of combi-weapon bits.

super cool model, always cool to see what direction people go with regiments like these. Also makes me wonder what a melee/close range gaurd squad could look like beyond meltas, bayonets, and trench clubs, Kinda like what the actual in game unit for the feral world literal cavemen of the old old gaurd regiment image (the back and white line art one) would be. Speaking of the old old regiment image theres a ton of quite cool looking ones on there that might be worth a look. Some really cool ones, even a bunch of mounted units if you ever wanted an excuse to model some horses :] The Ezelti Lancers, Ironsides, ratskins, and the Unauthorized access ones look especially cool

The Bhargesi are implied to be fairly intelligent as you assumed, since from information I’ve been able to find most of the Iron Lords job regarding them is to thwart attempts at FTL travel - meaning they already have spacefaring capabilities and have gotten close to FTL travel several times just for the Iron Lords to stop them.

Interesting thing about the Native American inspirations, there's some truly ancient fluff about the Dark Angels and one of their recruitment worlds called Plains World. The story is basically a myth about the founding of the Deathwing and why they wear bone white armor, as it honors an ancient tradition of Plains World. It's still technically canon in the sense that Plains World was just referenced in their latest Codex supplement, but the story itself is basically an universe legend they tell to new recruits into the Chapter. It's also why Deathwing usually have little feather totem bits on them. It's pretty neat, and I honestly want to try my hand at a homebrew DA successor with a Native American theme. Also gotta say as someone from the South I absolutely love that the Knights of Gold are literally just Mardi Gras Marines. Really creative color scheme and fluff.

Love the helmet & scriptures. How long did you have to wait for the greenstuff to semi-harden before tearing in order for the cloak to not go limp btw? Sounds like a fiddly balance to keep in mind so I'd like to know for the future!

Nice and neat ! The Blackstone Fortress boxes also included some Traitor guardsmen who looked liked those rats, it included a trooper wearing a cape like the one that you did. Thanks for your efforts, I'm working on a huge guard army inecluding multiple regiments and your videos are a big inspiration source.

I would recommend solar auxila for a project like this. Hell I recommend them for any 25-28 mm infantry, they work really well for kitbashing and they are pretty cheap.

love the helmet, Giving some serious Jin-Roh vibes. Speaking off, Wargames Atlantic has two Eisenkern kits in their Iron core line, they'd be a pretty perfect base for scion/kasarkin in this regiment. Or honestly. The green stuff cloak on top of The blooded kill team is pretty perfect.

I actually used that tearing effect for ragged pieces of skin on my night lords. I actually discovered it on my own by accidentally stretching the green stuff when rolling it out. I would guess a lot of people discovered it this way. I love it when I fuck up but discover something cool along the way.
