I drive in west Omaha when I must. I'm always glad when I get back east of about 90th. So much less congestion. The street I hate most is 72nd. Any spot, any direction, any time. It is planed to be close for bridge replacement around 2025, at F street at the rail lines.

Should be noted. UNMC is buying up huge tracts of land in mid-town. Small businesses have been put on notice. In a few years they will have to relocate. You can see plans online. UNMC future growth/ plans. I don't have the link just now. Thanks.

Unless you work downtown, downtown is nothing but a crap hole. Nothing but crime, homeless people and terrible parking situation

I used to do pullups at that park there was a perfect bar that was part of an awning right next to that lake. Then they closed the park forever to build this I guess. Looks pretty cool but google maps literally shows the skate ribbon in the lake, did they make the lake smaller?

Omaha traffic is definitely going to suffer until the reconstruction of the I-29 junction is finished. I don't live here but I drive a semi through the area very often, and have observed how traffic behavior has been altered by this massive project. The ring roads definitely experience more congestion than they did 2 years ago, as does US-75 going towards downtown.

Omaha traffic is easy.. I can still drive 15 miles from Bennington proper to 72nd and Pacific in 25 minutes, during rush hour. I suppose to someone from rural Nebraska, visiting for the state track meet, it might seem bad. I do think east bound West Dodge is ready for metered ramps between 7:30-8am. This would help immensely, forcing a zipper merge.

The problem with driving in Omaha isn't the traffic, it's the SHITTY DRIVERS amd SHITTIER ROADS. The traffic here isn't terrible, and the interstate makes driving across the city quick. 💯 However, Omaha was voted the #1 worst city in the US for driving a few years back. And I can concur with this assessment because I was a Lyft/Uber driver for 3 years. The drivers here are NEXT LEVEL SHITTY, not just run of the mill bad... 💩 And the streets here are pure shit because there are potholes EVERYWHERE. We have extremely cold winters here, so the roads get salted, which destroys the roads. If you aren't watching where you drive, you can cause THOUSANDS of dollars in damage to your car.... 🙄

I've been running into burst water faucets just like that one for many years because I hook up to different faucets almost every day for work. What I suggest for starters, if you live in any area where it gets well below freezing in winter get faucet covers for your faucets. I don't care if they're supposedly freeze-proof. Trust me, they're NOT!!! You will not likely ever have this happen in your entire life if you follow that one simple step. Also, I like to simply hook a garden hose up to the faucet and turn it on full blast and immediately kink the hose. Listen for spraying water inside the wall. Unless you have extremely bad hearing you will notice it instantly and can immediately shut the water off. I'm actually fairly hard of hearing and have been using this method for years. I just had a customer flood most of his basement because of a faucet just like that one a few weeks ago. The damage was quite costly. Neither carpet nor pad could be saved in about 700 to 800 sq. ft. and it could have been far worse. I've seen a number of homes damaged because of these faucets and personally believe ALL faucets should be covered in winter unless you live in a climate where it's not really a problem. I live in SE Missouri and even here it happens quite a lot especially if we get a really cold winter. One cold snap is all it takes. One last tip. If your faucet is not sealed well against your wall it is an accident waiting to happen. The faucet should be fastened to the wall and calked around or use some method to seal it. A 3 or 4-dollar faucet cover can save you some big bucks if you are afraid this might happen to you or it already has and don't want it again.

Ryan, that is a frost free hose bib. It shuts the valve off way on the inside to prevent freeze ups and burst pipes. No need to do this unless you have an older style
