I designed to keep the stock tank on the electric build. To do this required cutting the bottom of the tank off to allow the battery to extend up inside of the gas tank. Over all it was a fairly easy thing to do once I started using the right tool to cut with. The large gas tank on this CRF450RX made for a great space to put the battery and wiring. Mounting the electric motor was pretty challenging due to aligning the chain. Luckily, the battery is quite a bit easier. We don't have to worry about the orientation or alignment. You mostly need to focus on getting the battery safely secured. I have seen others use velcro straps with success so I may have been a bit board with the welded tabs.
