How to mount a battery tray into the CRF450 frame.
Mounting the electric motor was pretty challenging due to aligning the chain. Luckily, the battery is quite a bit easier. We don't have to worry about the orientation or alignment. You mostly need to focus on getting the battery safely secured. I have seen others use velcro straps with success so I may have been a bit board with the welded tabs. Time will tell if everything stays put.

How to mount an electric motor into a CRF frame.
Переглядів 347День тому
I started this whole project with a game plan in mind, but as you'll see in this video the plan changed multiple times throughout the build. I wanted to create the mounts from scratch to learn how to weld. I ended up changing mounting bracket designs numerous times but now I feel confident that everything is sturdy. I will most likely buy pre made brackets for my next build.
How to build an electric dirt bike and why I used Electro and Co. to do it
Переглядів 25714 днів тому
I found a 2017 CRF450RX frame with no motor on Facebook Marketplace and deciding to make it an electric bike. I wanted to be able to ride in my back yard without annoying my neighbors. I bought the Electro and Company MX kit and a YesWelder from Amazon and started building. So far I am about 10 months in and while it is not complete, I do have a rideable bike. Check out my Etsy store: esteemmot...
Intro to the Electric CRF build using Electro Co and Company motor kit
Переглядів 1723 місяці тому
This is the intro video to my first electric dirt bike build using the Electro Co. battery, motor, and drive kit. The kit is nicely put together and appears to be completely plug and play. However, there will need to be plenty of fabrication to properly mount everything inside of the frame. My goal is to fabricate as much as I can to try to learn about welding and fabrication. The first problem...
How to fix bent dirt bike radiators part two

You can fix bent radiators yourself! It is actually a really easy and simple process that needs no special tools. Check out part 1 where I talk a little bit more about how to reshape your bent radiators. These are the radiators that were on my 2010 Honda CRF250R.

2010 Honda CRF250R refresh Intro

This is my personal 2010 CRF250R. It was the first brand new dirt bike that I had ever bought so it does have some sentimental value. However, after a crash in 2012 the bike has mostly just sat in the garage. I began riding again in 2018 at a local track that was only about 10 minutes from my house. Unfortunately, that track has closed down since then. Luckily for me, I was able to acquire some...
How to easily remove the jets on a KLX110L
Переглядів 4 тис.2 роки тому
The KLX110s are not very friendly when it comes to simple maintenance like cleaning an air filter or cleaning the carb. But the good new is, with a little bit of twisting and turning you can at least remove the bowl and get to the jets without removing the shrouds. It makes testing and tuning the carb a whole lot easier. Check out my store: esteemmotoco.etsy.com

Not tryna spoil the learning curve fun of it for others cuz that’s what I like in this hobby so not gonna say exactly what to do but that motor is something to reckon with , it will smoke a 19” Mx tire off dry tar rolling you’ll see diff power outputs of it on diff videos but that’s because of said tuner capabilities if you know how to tune the controller your using an give it few adequate mods cooling ext you can get it close to the stark varg , a gas 450cc bike would be a adequate comparison for this . Try an make a 96v battery for it might not be able to fit lots of riding hours in said setup but it’s very simple to make a battery you can learn very easily if you can do this , enjoy I will be checking back great job

I don’t think you are spoiling it, more like giving everyone hope. We all want the performance of a Stark but can’t afford one.

Awesome choice as a rolling chassis, & good choice going with Electro & Co. If you need any help sourcing anything, or need help trouble shooting, i do testing/R&D for ebike/e motos, & could point you in the right direction, the FB groups are really the best source of information. I got a Rwarr Mantis on Monday, the full size 1,& it's linear power delivery & instant throttle response IS ADDICTIVE, i can ride it on the roads here in Reno to get to the dirt or sand, & don't get harassed, ebikes/e motos are the future, I'm 49yo & closely see it. What's the specs on this?

@@tannerisms thank you! You definitely should do it! I partly think an older steel frame would have been easier for me since I could have welded mounting tabs to the frame. I don’t have an aluminum welder yet..

@@stout5353 Not exactly. It kind of depends on the day. I cut a slit in the D shaped air/fuel screw so I could adjust it and I also put in the adjustable needle from BBR. I can't remember what my settings are but it seems like when the weather is slightly cooler say 50-75 degrees it runs pretty good. Higher than 75 the bog is usually very noticeable.

Luckily the tb 143 kit I ordered came with a Mikuni vm26 carb that is so much better than the stock carb. Even has a hand knob to adjust the idle so no tool needed for idle adjustments. Set the air screw 1.5 turns out and havent had to touch it since
