Lego pirates: The life and times of captain redbeard
A tale of plunder, booty, and eventual stranding.
The Lego set "Pirates of Barracuda Bay" inspired me to tell the story of how Redbeard and his crew ended up there.
The stop motion movie pays homage to many of the great Lego pirates sets from the 80ies and 90ies.
The boat seller probably has a distant relative somewhere else deep in the Caribbean.

Thank you so much for this
great video
Cool
When a new movie?
Thanks for asking! I have the pieces, I have the story, but unfortunately I still lack the time to do the shooting… 😢
@@IronhookFilms 🥺😢😭😭😥VERY SAD…🥺😢😭
You inspired me to finally start the new movie. I have taken the photos for the first scenes and am working on it. I will still require time to comlete it. But it will come out. It will tell a story of Eldorado Fortress 😊
Fanaly new pirate Lego stop motion
Great video, but i dont see me in it
Haha, yes!!! The setup comes from my childhood: admiral woodhouse resided in the imperial trading post (set 6277) and the ship was commanded by one of his officers. I kept the setup for the movie to avoid that people confuse woodhouse and broadside ☺️. Thanks a lot for the comment and for subscribing! ☺️
Well, you need more subscribers. Consider yourself having earned another. Only issue is you need to work slightly on the smoothness of the animation.
Thanks a lot for the subscription and for the feedback @Zachomara. I totally agree. With my current skill and tools I only managed to get to around 5 frames per second, which is not enough. My goal for the second movie is to improve on that and reach about 10-15 frames per second.
@@IronhookFilms I think 12 frames would do to smooth it out. Although I have noticed that for Lego animations, sometimes 8 is all you really need for a smooth animation. So you're almost there.
Nice story and cool animation!
Thank you! ☺️
the story was amazing
When will the next cartoon be?😅😮
Thanks for asking :-). Unfortunately it will not be before Winter. I will be travelling quite a lot in Autumn 😅. But I want to tell a story about the new Eldorado Fortress (and perhaps of some of the treasures inside :-)).
@@IronhookFilms I'll be waiting!!!
Can’t wait a new movie !😊❤🎉
@rubikfilms6736 Thanks a lot! I am happy to read that ☺. I hope that I will have time in winter to make a second movie. I would love to tell stories about the new Eldorado Fortress 🙂.
Your welcome ! It's a shame it's taking so long, but it's still good!😊
If this is supposed to go along with the official lego pirates storyline, it is inaccurate as the pirates and islanders are good friends and allies.
Thanks a lot for your feedback Ayden. Initially I wanted to follow the official Lego pirates storyline. However, after doing some research I decided against it. One reason was that I found out that the storyline differs between countries. The islanders are generally considered neutral. There is promotional material that shows how they defend their treasures against pirates. The crocodile cage (set 6246) had a pirate as prisoner. About the neutrality, see also the Lego article below: www.lego.com/en-us/history/articles/g-lego-pirates/
@@IronhookFilms My mistake, I meant to say that Redbeard and the islanders were friends, which is true to my knowledge. Ironhook’s pirates and the islanders are enemies, which is probably what you mean here. Great animation by the way!
@@AydenTheCarrot Thanks a lot! Yes, you are right. There was a German radio drama, which describes how Redbeard befriends King Quexil (i.e. King Kahuka). You find a transcript here ("Insel der schaurigen Masken" / "Island of the spooky masks"): www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/76762-new-old-lego-pirates-adventures-in-german/ This fits quite well to the Islander’s Lego sets, which never contained Captain Redbeard (the adversary was always Captain Ironhook). However, Lego remained ambiguous on this. A commercial from 1994 shows how Redbeard steals a treasure from the Islanders and needs to escape: ua-cam.com/video/7w0jasJP6Q4/v-deo.html
@@IronhookFilms thank you for the links to the audio dramas! I have been looking for those for ages! I have seen that commercial, but from what I have collected, commercials are not canon to the actual story. Thank you again!
You are welcome ☺️
Well cool, keen to see more
Thanks a lot!
At least for some... cheeky history joke
Cool! Keep it up 👍
Thank you 🙂
ARRRR
Subbed. Awesome animation.
