Flying at the beautiful Noonameena property near Dungog, NSW. www.yeranda.com.au/noonameena.htm Second day of flying and tuning the PIDs, some badly coordinated turns and a crash at the end. Can't blame the configuration for that. Attempted my first front flip. I think I need to tune down the responsiveness a bit, I wasn't expecting it to rotate 720 degrees in 2/3 second! My first 2 FPV flights with the Hobbyking TekSumo. Using keychain camera 808 #16 v2, while my GoPro gets replaced under warranty. 808 is a great cheap option for FPV, nice and easy to mount, but doesn't handle high contrast images too well. This particular keychain camera provides video out, via a supplied USB cable (which can also work to power the camera with 5v). This allows a single lead to...

    so i do paddling, and that is a really tippy k1 to start with in the world of racing kayaks, i don’t think anyone can use it on their first try, from a sea kayak. that looks like something equal to a csepel, maybe try something less tippy for the first time, if you are looking for something you can stay up in, and use to race and or long distance paddle in. even just to do a practice.

    • @drodsou
      @drodsou 2 роки тому

      It is worth learning K1 as it forces you to learn a mental model that the paddle is, first of all, the water wing that gives you support, and only then a propeller, something that recreational kayaks hide from you. The video is perfect to show that the first thing is so counterintuitive when learning, everybody lets the paddle go instead of using it when tipping :-), even though this become second nature after a few days.

    Thanks gameendings, I'll have to try that, although I do have a 600TVL D-WDR camera now which I just need to get wired up and installed. I was finding the handling of light and dark a bit of an issue with the 808, depending on the day.

  • @CurryKitten
    @CurryKitten 11 років тому

    Terry - get the latest firmware down on the #16 and you can set the live output ratio separately. So you can have a full frame 4:3 image in the goggles whilst still recording 720p at 16:9

  • @terrybrett
    @terrybrett 11 років тому

    Also blackbirdboy1, one quick thing to note, the video out is 16:9 aspect which doesn't work too well with the fatsharks (which are 4:3). So you either have a letterboxed image in the fatsharks, or one that is horizontally squished.

  • @terrybrett
    @terrybrett 11 років тому

    Hi blackbirdboy1, yes that particular camera has the option for live video out, no hacks required. It comes with a mini-USB plug with a couple of servo plugs on, from which you can get video out and power the camera. I changed the plugs so I could plug straight into my immersion 600mw 5g8 transmitter with a single plug. So no need to worry about camera battery getting low. I'll update the description with some more details.

  • @blackbirdboy1
    @blackbirdboy1 11 років тому

    Do you mean this cam can send real time footage to Fatsharks etc? If so do you have to modify it anyway, Power, Vid out etc. Or did you just use it to record the flight? Pretty good picture really. If the live picture is as good then its a good budget way into FPV. If I could only fly my Tek without crashing the bloody thing!!! Maybe FPV on the Tek would be easier? Can't loose orientation when you are onboard. Theoretically!!!

  • @vegetoast1

    Yeah didnt think much of the self leveling, I like the board though.. bang for ya buck!

  • @terrybrett
    @terrybrett 11 років тому

    Yes, Paul has put a KK2 board on his original tricopter, which he is now using for FPV. He's switching it into self-levelling mode for FPV, and turning it off other times. He finds the self-levelling mode wallows around a bit compared to flying just with the gyro's, but just a bit safer for early days of FPV.

  • @vegetoast1
    @vegetoast1 11 років тому

    Sweet, have you tried the KK2 board that you can also get from HK?
