I did the best I could, and in the end there was only one angle I was not able to colorize well. I'm not a pro and this is still new to me. If anybody can do it, please download this video, fix, upload and share.

Casals, Bach 4 with altered acoustics (read description)
Переглядів 4413 роки тому
A personal experiment in which I'm attempting to add some reverb and to remove as much background noise as possible from Casals' Bach studio recordings from the 30's, so one might get an acoustic impression that an audience member at the back of the Prades Cathedral may have experienced at a live concert. Please listen with headphones or speakers bigger than those of a smartphone! Disclaimer : ...

NBA "secret" for sound production on the Cello!
Beautiful but, i prefer Shafran in the arpegione of shubert.
Shafran at his best! Hardly anyone can match this interpretation. Including violinists.
Of course, this is absolutely from another sphere... Pure poetry.
How does one get such a big sound
I love it! This is the most top secret of cello technique no one else had ever wanted to share. Thank you sir! This is exactly what I need to know and learn. I can't thank you enough for this great video.
Great cellist, great musician, great teacher.
Beautiful
Yes I go quicker 😂😂😂🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 a true master of music 🎶
This is such an invaluable 4 minutes and I'm not even a cellist
He had a very pretty wife.
Thanh you so so so much!!!! I finally understood how this works😄😄
do we know what year this was?
How can it be any more beautiful than this?
Sinopoli turning page?
quel talent...quand il joue il exprime ses émotions avec son cœur ❤
This is incredible playing. Outstanding and so profound. Noras is a diamond Fin for sure...!
Hi, thank you for this very lovely performance! I am thinking to buy one of these cellos, I was just wondering if you could tell me, is it very loud and do you have to work hard to project on it? My own cello is very soft and I am hoping to get one that has more core of sound and natural projection. Thank you in advance for your help. Warm wishes from Australia.
You don't have to work hard at all. Very clear sound.
For the Rondo A, did you try the A XP version or just the A?
I tried the XP as well and was very impressed. Very easy to play and very easy bow response.
Maud - wow!
Fun fact...this sonata was originally conceived for cello but converted to violin when Franck needed a wedding present for ysaye
Where did you read this?
How not to LOVE it, when it is so beautiful and... true... Bravo Maestro.
Väldigt fint! Tack!
This is a wonderful gem❤
MAGNIFICENT NORAS...
Excellent explanation. Very clear and precise. I am so glad you shared this video. This is one of the best tips on vibrato that I have seen.
A military conductor.
Well played maestro 👏👏👏
ola! qual o valor de um Violoncelo deste nível?
What is the name of the documentary?
Very Nice!!!!
Sure! I'd hire you! Is this the new cello??
Thanks! No, this is old footage that I randomly decided to upload. I'll film a bit with the new one soon!
Bravo!
wonderful Aristide <3
Your a gifted teacher as well
Thank you!
Wonderful, thank you 🙏🏻
He really does make the Cello sing ! It looks effortless too, such beautiful playing.
lovely clear sound and it's only a week old ;;; be very interesting to hear it once a year to appreciate its development
Very beautiful sound! Expressive and powerful at the same time. Bravo Aristide!
Thank you very much, Anton!!!
crying
No Casals before Casals. No Casals after Casals. No one can play a singing cello like him. In particular, Bach's interpretation is unmatched by him. I would like to thank you for uploading the rare footage.
I was working on Dvorak concerto with him and it’s crazy when he is playing in front of you.. he literally blew me off of the chair with his sound haha
He really does do that. I had Masterclasses years ago and was incredibly inspired. Are you a student of his?
@@aristideduplessis8151 No, he is only teaching in Helsinki and it’s too far out. A few years ago he was in Hamburg and had a small class, but unfortunately not anymore …
THIS is what I imagine a cello SHOULD sound like - nice and soulful and dark in the nicest way. You're an excellent cellist - have you still the same feelings about the Rondos strings almost a year on?
Yes! Same set has only just worn out, actually!
@@aristideduplessis8151 Good to hear : ) thanks for letting me know
wow this is amazing I saw Pressler in recital when he was 94 in Oxford what year was this recorded
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
This is a great tip, it really helped me! Thank you.
Glad it helped!
Nice tempo....I hate when its soooooo slow, it sounds draggy
I actually love it slower, but I was convinced ;)
Great tip! I will try to apply it during my next practice.
I like his Cello 😍 I love Cellos
WOOOOOOWWWW! Thank you very much! You blew my mind! I was looking for a solution for a technique like this, since when I started playing cello (5 months ago)! INCREDIBLE: I GOT IT almost immediately!!! REALLY THANK YOU for your clear explanation!! Now I will be able to play some fast passages I always dreamt to execute! Do you think "Night on Bald Mountain" by Mussorgskij, between 0:14 - 0:28 minute, could be one of them?? Or is this piece for violin based on a different technique, and so possible only for the violin?? Now, I will start to approach this masterpiece, hoping my neighbors will not hate me too much!!
Grazie! Spero che divertiti!
None better.
KING of cello. He stands above all other cellists when it comes to laser-focused playing - I think he labelled it as "no frills" or something. No need for excess emotion etc.....flamboyant he is not, but sometimes flamboyancy gets in the way of appreciating a composer's piece due to its superfluous "personal touches". Starker avoided that, and I love him for staying true to his principle all those years of playing. R.I.P Starker...
