In this video I reflect on some of the worst aspects of mountain biking for me and I'm curious what would be on your list? You are flying
This dude rips and he’s polite?!!! @specializedbicycles
Got a full run down Ore Chute?
Just filmed one the other day! May wait to post a different one with both my dad and I though when we go up next.
Sick. I also didn’t know this trail was open to e-bikes. Did it once on my way through to Moab on the analog bike. Black Hawk is special.
Where is this trail?
Maryland mountain, black hawk
Love to see it dude!
Heck yeah, send it🤘
Levo SL?
Gen 3 full power Levo!
Atta boy. Weight can be your friend. Clearly you aren't very limited by it.....or fear. Lol
Yes big fan of this bike. For the most part, the weight isn't an issue, and sometimes will help you out, but it is a bit more difficult to slow down and corner on tight stuff.
Sick run! How do you like your SL? 😎
It's the full power gen 3 Levo and I'm a huge fan!
@@FoxtonR I think in DH blasts like this the full power levo shines, didn’t seem to limit your agility around the corners either. Nice!
Yes, a bit more difficult to slow down and corner especially on steep stuff but otherwise it rips!
Was told by someone at work that this trail was the "pride and joy" of CO Springs. Ended up flying off the trail where you were at at 2:19 (I lost my front wheel and almost rode off the side of that wooden retaining wall, I unclipped and lunged onto the trail and my bike flew out off the side of the wall 😂) somehow myself and the bike are fine, but either way, was not impressed with this trail on the conditions. So slippery and off camber, its just not really fun in some parts for that reason
I'll stick to Fast Money. Because I value being alive. LOL. Nice work sir!!
Hahaha, thank you! That trail is a blast too!
I did this on a hardtail last year and people thought I was crazy lol
cool footage thanks for sharing, do you feel the 36 fox rhythm shock is sufficient, your downhill was very smooth given the harsh terrain
Thank you! Yes that fork seems to do the job well enough for right now but it does blow through its travel more often that something with an upgraded damper
Did you hit it?
You bet, had to walk back up and take a look at it again and reflect on my decisions
@@FoxtonR nice work dude!

To me, it’s simple uphill is more fun you get to ride longer. Downhills are better with a little bit heavier, more stable platform. And when someone asked me if I feel like I’m cheating I reply with “I didn’t know I was competing” For me It’s spending time outdoors with my wife and enjoying as much as possible. Loving the levo!
Great comment!
I just got the Levo SL. The downside, it’s hard to stop riding it and my girlfriend gets mad 😠🤣
Just rode this for the first time today. Favorite trail right now! Matches my skill level with room to progress.
That same thing happened to me my last time at Apex, on the climb. Today at Floyd i got a bloody Shin 🤦🏻♂️
Apex Park is a rodeo, bike and body basher!
Clips don't give souvenirs
I love my ebike and I love my normal mtb but I do find the 25km speed limit frustrating
I agree, don't need the extra speed too often but when I do it would be really nice
Which trail
instantly know your bike when a video drops before I know it's you
Wow the forestry crews have cleared out a lot! It looks unrecognizable where they’ve been working. Always a fun area to ride if you can hit it without crowds.
Yeah unfortunately looks much more bare now. And yes, minus the regular crowds, this area is awesome
Man that's great. How are the climbs?
That's the one problem with this trail, the uphill isn't that great, especially with some of the steeper sections, but once you turn the bike around it's worth it!
@@FoxtonR I'd love a longer video that includes that stuff on your rides. You're my best source of ideas, information as I get into this
I think that's a great idea. I plan on making some more in depth videos in the future!
So good! Does my heart good to see you riding with your dad. He is also so skilled, y’all make dodging those trees and rocks look so easy! Your videos are getting me through broken shoulder recovery, hope to be back out on the trails before too long!
Thank you so much! I appreciate this and glad to hear my videos are doing you some good 👍
Super cool riding with my son...glad he got me into it!
Excellent ride...went and did it again 2 days later!🤘
An old guy commented on my electric mountain bike and asked me if I "gave in". I said yes, I gave into 400% more hours in the saddle, 400% more miles on the trails, and 1000% more fun. Shame on me!
I wonder if I love my e-bike? Coming up on 5000 miles! 😂
How often do you still ride your regular bike? I have a Pivot Switchblade, and bought an e-bike (Yeti 160E) for recovery days. I get more days riding this way, and on “regular” days still get the sense of accomplishment of grinding up on my acoustic bike.
Unfortunately I sold my stumpy Evo recently and am looking to eventually get another analog bike once I can afford it! I miss it quite a bit but the Levo is incredible in its own way. I focus more on downhills now and fine tuning my skills there but there's something about being on a regular bike im definitely starting to miss.
just found your channel today. can't want to binge watch the rest of your vids
Welcome aboard!
As an older rider, 79, my Specialized Turbo Levo Comp has put the fun back in mountain biking. As the end of my manual bike days, I'd come home so exhausted it would take me 3 or more days to recover. Not fun I have found it's okay to run my 2.6 inch wide front tire and 2.5 inch rear tire at 16 psi which gives incredible handling and a great ride. The tires kind of "wrap" around the rocks rather than bouncing off them. These are tubeless and I put 6 to 8 fluid ounces in each tire because I really don't want a flat and the extra weight doesn't matter as I explain below. With the ebike, it's so nice to not worry about weight and I can put two water bottles on the bike and carry other supplies without thinking, "This is going to make uphill just awful". When lubing my chain, I put it on the bike stand and just rotate the tire backwards to move the chain. I used to put an Allen key in the front chainring, but it was a bugger to get loose after lubing the chain. Without a doubt the best money I've ever spent on a recreational object. So so so much fun! When I try to explain the pure joy riding is now, my manual bike friends just don't get it and their eyes glaze over.
I agree with you everywhere! These things are addicting! Great comment
look so cold and jittery and you have no gloves. My hands are buzzing just looking at them (edit... now you're talking about the gloves.. I need to watch everything before commenting!!) also about ripping up yer palms if you crash
I think as a newbie, I prefer the climb because I'm going slow, crashes are not as bad. There's something super satisfying about getting over an obstacle. I am on an ebike but I don't actually engage the motor too much. Crash/Recovery sucks. Wind/Cold recently around here but I'll hate the heat soon enough. Other trail users (bikes.Peds.dogs) who are not polite. The drive does blow for sure.
MTB is filled with tons of examples of type 2 fun. Suffer the climbs and enjoy the downhill.
Yes.
Sick video man. What’s the trail called?
Thank you! Rutabaga Ride
Hoping the trail conditions are good tomorrow. Im trying to ride it before for work.
I'm pretty sure it's all gtg!
That just means you’re doing what you’re supposed to do. How are the PNW grips? 😊
They are great. Got the thicker large size and they ride nice
The only bad thing about mtb is I don’t get paid to go mtbiking.
The worst thing about mountain biking 1) I don't get to go enough, 2) I don't have enough money to buy more bikes.
I think almost everyone has those problems, if only we could all buy more bikes!
Trail looks killer for the stumpy Evo. I have yet to ride one of these but that’s why I’m here
Where is this trail? Looks sick. 10/10 would have an ebike if I was local to that!
Left Hand Canyon, Boulder area. A few trails in there
Being out in nature really sucks haha
It's the worst, the fresh air is overrated
MTB doesn’t have to be dangerous or expensive
Very true! But when you start going fast and pushing the bike hard, you increase the risk and potential danger, plus needing a bike that won't fall apart when ridden that way.
There is no "worst" thing. A bad day mountain biking is better any other day, period.
I completely agree, great comment
You sound a lot like my EX 😄
I'm assuming your ex went to Starbucks all the time, no thanks haha
@@FoxtonR Negative Nancy for sure!
@@dee2ski Gotta do it every now and then, the UA-cam algorithm likes negative stuff
@@FoxtonR Oh I was talking bout my EX, I understood the sarcasm 💯 !! I'm also a 30 year backcountry skier and understand the pain to pleasure ratio on the ups/vrs down! Cheers man!
@@dee2ski Sounds like a lot of fun, be safe out there, cheers!
lets not forget about the hikers with the unleashed dogs who chase you
Haha that's actually happened once or twice
For me the "thrill" of it isn't even really what I find compelling, and if you're confident on the bike and know your limits I'd say it can be a relatively low-risk activity. Like ya, there's an inherent risk there no matter what, but exercising a little caution goes a long way to preventing injury. If I'm not confident about hitting some new-to-me feature I will gladly walk that shit lol - way more worth it to me to continue riding consistently than potentially hurt myself for a brief moment of adrenaline. Not to mention most of the trails I ride regularly are ones I'm very familiar with, so for me it's definitely more about just being outside and having fun than it is getting thrills.
Great comment, well said!
Worst thing about mountain biking: my beer cans in my backpack get all shaken up and explode while I'm going down the trail. BAN MOUNTAIN BIKING!
Ban shaken beer syndrome
he really said being out in the nature is a bad thing?
Yes he did. And that's called sarcasm.
@@anexoworkshop right. So all his reasons were sarcasm?
@@walliwabbel Dude, when he mentioned Starbucks, you can't really get it? Gimme a break.
