September 2024 Equusynergy Training Demo
Here is a little overview of our September Training Demo at Cadence Equine Centre! 🤩
The theme for this demo was progressions with each horse from previous Demo themes. We covered Fiamma's haunches-in progress including the upward half-halt and giving time for rest and regulation. Ayla showed the next steps of her renvers learning including starting to take the renvers away from the sides of the arena in different directions. Ilios showed some play and how to start teaching the canter strike off from the front position. And last but not least, Delightful showed his lovely progression in the riding including how to isolate inside and outside reins and moving between holding the reins and working with the neck rope.
Once again, each horse did a beautiful job demonstrating the real-life, unedited conversations that take place during training, including the challenges and the wins! 🐴🐴🐴🐴
If you'd like to see the full Monthly Demo videos, or if you are based in South Africa, attend them free of charge, you can check out my Online Classroom at www.zanetageorgiades.com/membership

Jupiter offers canter!

If you are only a student of technique, then the options become very limited. On the other hand, when you are a student of the horse, the options are unlimited.” ~ Mark Rashid Jupiter and I had so much fun in this session! I had been exploring the play drive and linking it with canter strike-offs with Orrin in the training session just before and obviously, I had some of this residual imprint f...

Here is a little overview of our August Training Demo at Cadence Equine Centre! 🤩 The theme was questions I have received in my Online Classroom. During the Online Workshops and Zoom Q&A's we discuss a variety of exercises and solutions and along with the verbal descriptions given during the classes and videos already in the Classroom library, I also demonstrate the answers during Live Training...
Ayla learning trot shoulder-in

"Take whatever two qualities you want to enjoy at the same time, and alternate between them until they naturally combine." ~ Karen Rohlf During this training session with Ayla, I started introducing a shoulder-in cue at liberty in lungeing so that I could start asking her inside hind leg to support a little more on the circle. Once she understood the cue at liberty, I added the lunge line to he...
“Anything forced is not beautiful.” ~ Xenophon

With more awareness growing, albeit with some necessary but divisive growing pains, around how we approach training with our horses: what is ethical and what isn’t, what is excessive pressure and what isn’t, when punishment is justified and when it isn’t, etc… a few quotes have been floating to the surface of my mind over the past week that are ringing particularly true: “Anything forced is not...
July 2024 Equusynergy Training Demo
Переглядів 72Місяць тому
Here is a little overview of our July Training Demo at Cadence Equine Centre! 🤩 The theme was haunches-in - the essence of the shape in all three gaits, different approaches to bring the posture away from the sides of the arena, and how to use specific patterns of direction to bring out different qualities in the exercise. All three horses were, once again, such beautiful partners in demonstrat...
Taking the next steps with Tiger-Lily
Переглядів 652 місяці тому
After a long deep dive into our foundations, Tiger-Lily and I are starting to re-introduce laterals and tools back into our training and it is incredible to see and feel the change in her! In the past, there were so many triggers that could send her reeling over the edge of her threshold including just being led out of the paddock away from the herd which would cause severe separation anxiety. ...
The next step of Ayla's backing preparation
Переглядів 2,1 тис.2 місяці тому
Ayla and I have been playing with the next step of her backing preparation, which is working at the mounting block. The cone is there for Ayla to use as a start signal i.e. to indicate to me when she is ready for me to start the mounting activity, as well as an easier option we can play with if she needs a break from the more difficult activity. The first step we take is standing on the mountin...
Orrin and I playing with variations around the cavelletis.
Переглядів 332 місяці тому
This was such a fun little exercise I stumbled across because I had lent my reverse round pen to a student! My idea was to continue working on transitions at liberty around the reverse round pen, now made out of the cavaletties, but it turned into Orrin and I playing with expanding and shrinking the circle to the outside and inside of the boxes as well as using transitions to trot on the outsid...
Ayla learning the shoulder-in cue
Переглядів 1242 місяці тому
This girl is progressing so beautifully in her work in hand and it is so lovely to feel how the liberty and target work has set her up so well to understand my body language cues as well as the rein cues. 🤍🤍🤍 In the first clip, you can see her first time learning the shoulder-in cue. As preparation for this, I make sure she can walk next to me along the sides of the arena and that she can stop ...
June 2024 Equusynergy Training Demo
Переглядів 1072 місяці тому
We had a super day at the June Training Demo at Cadence Equine Centre! The theme was about how to isolate the elements of the tactile stimulus of the reins and the proximity of the trainer to the horse - titrating these stimuli in a way that maintained the relaxation, motivation, and connection throughout the process. Each horse brought their own awesome learning and breakthroughs to the mix an...

May 2024 Equusynergy Training Demo

Thanks to everyone who attended our May Training Demo day at Cadence Equine Centre! The theme of this Demo was centred around liberty - how I like to start, how I layer it into my training, variations around the reverse round pen, and balancing the key elements of relaxation, motivation, and understanding. My four horses each showed some valuable lessons in the training sessions. It was so grea...
Orrin's first canter strike-off in groundwork!
Переглядів 2354 місяці тому
Since Orrin and I have been exploring more of his play drive at liberty, he has been offering a lot more ✨sparkle✨ in the rest of his work! In this session, we were working on the quality of our haunches-in variations at a trot, and at one moment I could feel he was asking to play, so I changed my body language and we got our first canter strike-off in the groundwork position! Because this is a...

Hi, first time viewer. I don't walk directly in front of my horses in that way, particularly backwards. But... I work around mine at liberty & direct them just holding my hand on their face while I walk along side. Subscribed.
