Travesty LTD is a comedy troupe formed in the Washington, DC area circa 1978. In 1980 Travesty LTD first released Teen Comedy Party and twenty years later, re-released Teen Comedy Party on CD with many bonus cuts, previously unreleased. In this particular track, All About Music the Iron Butterfly Song Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida is analyzed...in a tongue in cheek fashion.

Hours earlier, Mike performed this song solo in the Main Studio at WMUC, however a ringing telephone interrupted his performance. Mike jumps right into the song, as I was still talking. For that, my apologies to Mike. :-)

I sent a letter to Cass asking for a picture of the group and he sent me just that with his signature. We became friends and continued to send letters for many years. I told him my wife would make groundhog cookies on that day and she'd play Ground Hog Day as she passed the cookies out. Cass loved that story! I broke my ankle years later and I'm sitting in my chair one afternoon and Cass called me and we talked for half an hour!! What a wonderful person!!! Bless you Cass!!!!!☮❤

Dude, thank you so much for posting this! I've been on a big Spirit kick lately and there's not a lot of info about them in one place. Long overdue for a well-researched book or documentary. This is fantastic.
I found this album in a used record store in the late 80's. One of my best finds. A documentary or a book or both would be fantastic. Unfortunately little visual material exists. The promotion efforts for Spirit were minimal. The first four releases are solid. Randy and Ed's later efforts were very good but the original lineup was best.

I met randy in 78 at the center stage in Detroit and became friends and pen pals he would call me when he came into town and leave backstage passes he warmed up for Alvin Lee at cobo hall in 1980 and brought me on the stage to watch all the people holding up lit lighters one of my greatest memories

Hendrix definitely influenced Randy. But Randy developed his own style and didn't mimic Jimi. If you listen to Dark Eyed Woman from the Clear release you can hear the influence of Jimi in Randy's guitar solo.
