I don't think the crystal is sapphire, friend. I think it's mineral glass. The limited edition ones came with sapphire and other renditions that said "sapphire" on the dial.
Going to have to disagree with you. Mine sapphire, and this is directly from Citizen website, "Sapphire Crystal Superior scratch resistance and hardness". Even on the back of the case its says sapphire crystal. Typically $1K and up watches always come with Sapphire crystal. Yes there are exceptions but in this case there is not. Thanks for watching and commenting. www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/AV0090-50A.html.
1. You referred to the Speedmaster as the "Omega Seamaster" more than once. 2. If I heard you correctly, you referred to the Speedmaster as being an automatic. No. The Omegas worn in space are--and have always been manual-wind. 3. Why is your video image-reversed? I suspected that it was, but when you held up the watch to your camera, that confirmed it (avoluB).
Just got one brand new. Can’t wait to get it.
It’s a great watch. Enjoy. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@ great review. Done bought 2 watches because of your reviews. lol.

Im watching this for the 3rd tome ...

Army 🇺🇸 Vet here, Love your channel!!!
Thanks much appreciated. Thanks for watching and commenting.
When you think about it the whole watch is ISO CERTIFIED 6425 from the strap to the watch. When you read the tests and specifications for it pass is impressive. A superb watch. Just purchased one a week ago.
Totally agree. A lot of people will say ISO certification means nothing. It means a lot especially depending on how you plan to use that watch. I always looked at like an extra layer of protection and security. Thanks for watching and commenting.
21 jewels
ictical Frog FXD. i've got a V4 TF coming in. I'll let you know if the bezel on the latest revs are as bad.
i have a ny0040-LE bought for 140usd and a ny0100-50me bought for 250usd titanium love them both blue dials❤
I don’t have that G-Shock model, I have these two: M5610U and GW7900 😎 I will buy that model in the future 😃
It’s a great watch. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Please open it for an inside look.
Mine is still under warranty so that wont happen any time soon, but I also dont think the movement is anything work looking at. I think if it was they would have put an exhibition case back on it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The hour markers deserve special mention. These are 3D lumicast markers that's quite unique. Aragon gave them black outlines so they are very legible during the day. One of the best dive watch designs under US$150. Wing's the man.
I agree, they definitely stand like 4k. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I didn't have a GSHOCK while serving in the New Zealand Army. My watch was a Quartz Seiko Divers from 1984. I still have that watch now and still wear it. I have also owned several GShock watches. My latest is a DW9052 1V that my wife bought me last Christmas. I also own a Jungle Green GA700UC.
Very cool. Thanks for your service and thanks for watching and commenting.
Don't understand why the gmt indicator is not lumed. Just insane
Really nice looking watch that ticks a lot of boxes. Sadly could have done with a ceramic bezel, a lumed gmt hand and screw pins for the bracelet. The Japanese just refuse to get it all right in one package. I suppose that's why people pay extra for a luxury brand instead.
No idea could have come down to cost, adds up over thousand of units not sure. You could get new Tudor Pelagos GMT, for a luxury watch super nice. Love my Tudor Pelagos FXD. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Agreed… the V2 bezel on mine. That being said, I had my mind set on the Tudor FXD when they launched a couple years ago- but they were sold out and I was tired of waiting around to source one, so I went Tactical Frog.
Very cool. Sounds like you need a Tudor now 😂. Thanks for watching and commenting.
King Turtle is the best 4R36 watch. You can call a Willard an "Uemura" as Naomi Uemura wore it on some of his expeditions in the 70s. My favorite is probably the SLA021 that i daily.
Very cool info. Did not know that. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for commenting and watching.
i think you got the bi and uni directional thing wrong
The Tudor is unidirectional and the for is bidirectional.
I think all their watches are limited edition, they only produce them in small batches. One of my Aragon watches (I have 14 now) is No3 of 80. That dial is definitely Salmon :) That is a very nice looking piece. I can't wait to order the Mystery Box T-100 Tritium Automatic that releases in December, a Tritium based watch for $120 is a steal.
Thanks for the info! Yeah I wish it was more pink. It’s pinker on the website. They do make some good watches for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hmm .. with the look and model name.. I’m not quite sure what type of watch they’re going for here.. 🤔 lol jk. Awesome dive watch, wanna say quintessential diver even. Looks very well made. I’ve seen some of these on UA-cam but never realized they’re based here in Florida. Thanks for the review! 👍🏻
Yeah 😂, no sure what the 4 Evo is. Evolution? No idea. Check them out really good microbrand. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri Before being named Aragon, they were called Android, and after Google ruined that for them they had to rebrand. For a small company, they do have a very varied portfolio.
Love the color.
👍
Aragon always makes banging watches. Good review.
Yes they do. Thanks for watching commenting.
Seiko lumibrite probably brighter the C3 lume
No doubt it’s a popular lume for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Just picked one of these up! Love it. Great video.
Awesome. It’s a fantastic watch. I wear more than any other watch I own. Congrats. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Where can I get this watch.
Citizens website has it, and probably find a good used one on EBay. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Here in Germany the Tudor cost more than €4000, that’s well in excess of US$4000. The Tactical Frog cost me just €155 - around $166. The ‘Frog’ has a titanium case, a sapphire crystal and a Seiko NH35 movement. Tell me what Seiko watch with that specification you can buy for under $600. Watches can be: the genuine article, a copy, a homage or an out and out fake. This watch is not a fake - it does not pretend to be something it is not. It has its name clearly printed on the dial and case back and there are other details that make it clear that it is in no way a Tudor. How many Seiko watches emulate the Sub Mariner with the Mercedes hour hand? Are they not copying Rolex? I think we need to be a bit more careful when we label a watch as being an ‘absolute copy’ while conveniently forgetting how many mainstream watch manufacturers copy their rivals’ products, because this watch is NOT an absolute copy. It closely follows the Tudor design but is clearly not a Tudor, so let’s not be too sanctimonious, eh?! The bezel problem has been dealt with by ‘Tactical Frog’ and the version I received yesterday was fitted with a bezel that worked very smoothly indeed with virtually no play whatsoever and (as with yours) was perfectly aligned - how many Seikos do we see where that is NOT the case? The strap, criticised in earlier versions by some, is now also much improved. All in all, for the price you get a watch that is as far removed from being garbage as a Timex is s from being a Breitling. In my humble opinion.
I was going to let your comment be for what is, but when you hit with the "sanctimonious' well that cant stand. So here is my sanctimonious reply, "Wow, talk about a passionate defense of the Tactical Frog! The energy you’ve put into justifying a €155 "homage" piece is impressive. But let’s be real: this comment reads like a manifesto from someone who wants the street cred of a Tudor without paying the price. Yes, it has a Seiko movement and a titanium case, but comparing it to a €4000 Tudor? That’s like saying your budget airline flight was basically first class because you also arrived at the same destination. The whole argument about it not being a copy is a stretch, too. Sure, it's not a fake-it’s proudly branded as “Tactical Frog”-but let’s not pretend it doesn’t owe Tudor a huge debt in design. The “it’s not a copy because it has its own name” argument is like saying off-brand cola isn’t copying Coca-Cola because it has a different label. And the defense about Seiko's occasional alignment issues? That’s more of a “look over there!” than a point in Tactical Frog’s favor. And while it’s good to hear they finally fixed that wobbly bezel, maybe it’s best to admit the watch is what it is: a decent, low-budget homage, not some hidden gem that’s being unfairly judged.". Sincerely, Sanctimonious
@@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri Thank you for your response. I admit I thought carefully about using the word 'sanctimonious', not least because we do not know each other and I was obviously unsure how you would react. However, your, at times, passionate review of a watch with which you, at least to my mind, seemed almost determined to put down (for want of a better expression) meant I almost felt as though you were perhaps trying to justify paying the premium for 'the real thing', a watch that you had bought/owned. The Tudor is a watch that I very nearly bought myself (the FXD Red Bull model with the red second hand) but unfortunately missed because it had been sold when I returned to the shop where I had seen it displayed. Also, the 'Frog' is uncannily similar to the Tudor but clearly NOT the original!! But what I was trying to get across is that it offers a hell of a lot for an extremely low price something that Seiko, who you mentioned, simply cannot, or will not, offer. At the end of the day I have the money to buy the original but, as a pensioner, I can't justify the outlay either to me or my wife! The Frog gives me the 'feel' of the real thing - I did actually have the real thing on my wrist in the dealer's showroom before, fortunately, it was sold and not readily available - and the Frog obviously lacks the finesse of the Rolex family. Your review was passionate in part and that is not something I wish to criticise, watches can make passionate people out of us whether we like it or not and that applies to me as much as it does to you. So in that spirit permit me to add that I look forward to your future offerings here on youtube and perhaps I might be permitted a comment or two now and then. Kind regards
@@rogerfairhurst8705no issue taken lol. You are spot on I genuinely have no love for clomage watches. Chinese brands are notorious for ripping off name brands. Borrowing design cues is one thing, flat copy and name change only is another. If you view some of my early watch reviews I do give good reviews of clomage watches. Value is very subjective, what one sees value in others may not. If everyone all liked the same things, it would be a boring world. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I just orderd one a few days ago. I'm still into the watch hobby but early retired from my IT job in 2019 at 53 and built my watch collection while I was working and earning decent money. Did a few reviews of them on my channel. Since retired, I promised myself no more big ticket purchases after I retired but broke the rule slightly with a Tudor Chronograph 79280 and a two tone datejust 16013. I've been good in the past few years but now that dam BB 54 is tugging at me. To be honest, and never really liked homages watches but ever since this fall hit I am becoming fasinated with all the very nice homages with the decent NH35 movements this watch being one of them. I'll will order the tactical frog fxd v4 which supposedly resolved a few of the shortcomings in V1 and V2 with the bezel. From 1999 up til 2018 I've purchases quite a few expensive Rolex sports models. It's refreshing to be able to buy two very good homages for $300.
Watches are personal preference for sure. I’m headed in the opposite direction😂. Looking at an Omega 300 seamaster. Let me know what you think oof the watch when you get it. I love my Tudor Pelagos FXD. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice comparison review thanks. The case back opener size is different with the Tactical Frog being smaller. I am on the fence for a Tudor FXD and was never a NATO lover but lately it's got my interst up so I'd like to try out the Tactical Frog first. Now the question, should I get black or blue?
Depends on if you want the copy of the marine national or the seals version. Difference is in the bezel one uni-directional and one is bi-directional.
@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri blue being the marine national correct?
The lugs are actually nicer on the Tactical Frog.
Only one word. Nope. 👎 😂
I have worn my Sub in the shower ever day for 22 years and have only had it serviced once in that time 6 years ago. I didn't know steam is bad for a watch.
I have never had an issue. Sometimes people come up with things cause they heard it from someone from someone. I have Tudor Pelagos FXD in my bathroom all the time. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You COULD say my Hamilton is as good as a Rolex. If the goal is telling time, that’s entirely possible. That’s the thing with these, what makes a Porsche is the engine but what makes a Rolex is the provenance
You’re totally right! Both Hamilton and Rolex can absolutely get the job done when it comes to telling time, and Hamilton has a great reputation for quality, too. But as you said, what sets Rolex apart isn’t just precision - it’s the history, the iconic design, and the brand legacy. It’s kind of like the difference between driving a car that works and one that carries a legacy, like a Porsche. Both can be fantastic in their own ways, but one carries that extra layer of history and exclusivity that enthusiasts really appreciate.
I gave up after this “deep dive” went into description of the band colors. Zzzzzzzzzz
Ah, you "gave up" after the band colors? Impressive endurance! I’m surprised you made it that far-I bet choosing cereal in the morning is a real mental marathon for you. Guess some people are more “surface level” swimmers when it comes to deep dives!
Cool watch. I strangely get these specs out of my Tag F1.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Is it me or is the second hand mis alligning / misalligned after it passes 4???
It is, and I brought that up in the video as one of my complaints about quartz watches.
@@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri Sorry mustn't have been paying attention!
Another great review! Just waiting for my Jet star then the green devil diver is on my list. Unfortunately for me i’m not a bracelet guy so just need to find a 19mm strap alternative 👍 Cheers
Good choice! Congrats. It’s a great watch. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I think it’s called hook and loop to avoid trademark issues with Velcro. Cool watch 👍🏻
I own a Lunar, Computron and Hack as a big fan of Bulova and just ordered the butterscotch dial. It looks amazing when it catches the light 👍 Imo opinion this should have been the limited edition. I’d love to see a dark green dial version. Fantastic review! Cheers
I agree this one is best of the three. Congrats on the purchase thanks for watching and commenting.
Mothinhg wronf with Chinese watches. One can get a REAL flying tourbillion for $200.
@@rrich52806 never said there was. Watch the whole video.
The tourbillon movement: the ultimate watch flex that screams, “Look at me, I’m spinning!” It’s like putting a fancy window on a car that doesn’t even drive straight. Sure, it’s an engineering marvel, but it’s a bit like wearing a tuxedo to a barbecue-impressive, but totally unnecessary for the occasion. Plus, for the price of one, you could buy a dozen reliable watches that actually tell time.
$63 USD 2024
Using Ronda is cheaping out for profit
@@couchoperator561 well you can go to their website and shoot them an email and let them . I don’t think putting a $12 NH35 would have been better.
Quartz is accurate and more durable than mechanical. I love mechanical but quartz has its place.
Which Quarz Movement would you prefer? For a military watch a good quartz movement is the better choice imho.
@@knutjunker2019 I have always preferred automatics. They don't fail, battery go dead when I was in some go third world country etc. In the circles I ran in and the units I worked with autos were the watch of the day, Tudor, Rolex, Omega, Paneri, Seiko etc. I did wear my issued G-shock now and then but only during training state side. Anytime I left the country it was an auto on my wrist. I would take my G-shock for back up just in case. I did seen smart watch's, Garmin's etc., but these can be tracked and you cant wear them in the SCIF due to their internet connection. Autos don't go dead, cant be hacked and cant be tracked lol. I just prefer autos. I would wear my Citizen EcoDrive Aqualand stateside but during training only. I have quartz watches, they are just not my preferred watch. Its a personal choice. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Excellent watch and video as always.
Glad you enjoyed it
Very, very cool watch. Love it. Love the 200M water resistance. Most field watches never give enough. Great review.
Totally agree awesome watch. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Cwc is one of the best military watches with true military provenance.
I was given one in 1998 for Christmas as I'm a watch fan ! Mine had the 21 jewels on the dial, and I've had it serviced three times and regulated, and it gives good accuracy from it, probably about 10 seconds aday ? I always was surprised how heavy these are? And I have it on the stock jubilee also! This model and the Citizen NY040 are great classics and here in the UK they are very expensive used nowadays as elsewhere? I would love to get the blue one as I've always thought about it but never pulled the trigger! Possibly to late now as I agree on the pricing now!
Great story and thanks for sharing. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Just got this last night and its my first watch i've ever purchased (not including apple watch). Love it so far! One question - my dates don't change automatically. How do i make it?
The date should switch over at midnight, you can also unscrew the crown and pull out to drift position and turn the crown either clockwise or counterclockwise and the date will change. Set the time to 6pm, then set the date to the day before you want, then got back to time setting and turn hands toll date changes to your dearie date, set the time, screw in the crown and your done. Let me know if that helps. Very rarely you can get a bad watch, but without seeing the watch can’t say. I have never had watch I couldn’t set the date. Did have one Seiko right out box that wouldn’t hand wind had to send it back snd replace it.
How does the blue strap fit on a smaller (6.7") wrist? Is it longer than the black strap you have on the watch. I'm concern the blue strap would wrap too much around on a smaller wrist, or there aren't enough holes to accommodate a smaller wrist.
The blue strap will fit. I have a 6.25 inch wrist. I just don’t like the all writing on the blue strap and it’s not as comfortable as the strap I replaced it with. Thanks for watching and commenting.
TITium....sinner..
Never said it was titanium. So do get the comment.
"K" is NOT the American version! It just means it is not produced in Japan. And the "K" version was in the stores all over the world. Why you're always thinking you're the only ones on this planet?!
Oh, my bad! I didn’t realize the world revolved around your shopping habits. Thanks for the geography lesson!
Honestly, no one cares about your take on the “K” version. It’s clear you’re trying really hard to make a point, but most people just aren’t interested.
@@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri, you're right! All Americans trully need some geography lessons. Because 90% of them are stupid enough and have no idea about the planet they're living on. So, thanks! Good point...
Been wearing the Citizen BNO 150 7days a week for a year. Got rid of that uncomfortable rubber strap and put a stainless steel oyster style bracelet on it made by Long Island Watch . This watch is good for almost any occasion now, classy, sporty and built like a tank. Love it !!
It’s a great watch no doubt. The factory rubber more like plastic strap just sucked. That’s why I changed it out. Haven’t seen one a metal bracelet. Not a bad idea. Thanks for watching and commenting.
