Owner of Billet Automotive Buttons Pty Ltd, this UA-cam channel is more dedicated to the car scene of Australia. You will see a lot of 'MCFRY' the Holden HJ Sedan as its my chariot I have owned since I was 16 and even went for my learner burners in this car, so it holds a lot of sentimental value.

Mcfry Drifting the South Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park
Another awesome event run by Australian Drift Club, Heaps of track time and lots of fun during the night.
The cars water temp was getting hot all night which is a bit new but the oil temperature heat is now sorted with an oil cooler, next event I will need to run methanol to try keep the water temps down. It was a very hot night around 30degrees.
I didnt have much luck with the federal 275 40 17 tyres, I had 2 sets which both only survived around 2 laps before delaminating. I then realised I had left my 18" rims at home so I couldnt run the 265 semi slicks which I bought for it. So I had to run 235 45 17 tyres for the rest of the night which was a bit of a bummer as I was really keen to run the car with more grip.
I was running a 150shot of nitrous for most of the night but only to get the tyre speed up a bit more instant for the entries, it just comes on at 90% throttle.
Very happy how the car is performing but it still needs more grip in the rear so im pretty keen to try the 18" wheels on the rear as there isnt alot of wide tyre options for 17" wheels for a good price.
Huge shoutout to Averjence Media for snapping the thumbnail pic.
Also huge shoutout to Speed for Sale for the Nitrous.

5 Absolutely huge days of travel around Australia. What a fun week full of unforgettable memories, It started Tuesday morning at 2am then Finished 9PM Sunday for us. We didn't finish but it sure felt like we did, the car had no issues at all until Saturday night on the drive home back to the hotel which cut our weekend short. It was a bucket list thing to do for me this trip and so glad I got t...
Powerplay Sydney 2024 Short Video with Lookout Powerskid

I found this Powerplay very unorganised, getting in the gate was way to slow and track time was pretty average. The P sticker used to get you on track as an equivelant to being vip but we were left waiting in the pits for atleast an hour to get on track when the second cruise session started. I lost my armband for this driving and the drivers briefing was shut so that ended my track time which ...

What a great way to spend fathers day, had the family out to watch all day. This drift festival was only turn 2-3 of the track at Sydney motorsport park, It was a great oppertunity to try improve my entries and also get a bit familiar with using the hydro handbrake. I got through 5 sets of tyres on the day and had no car issues all day, I ran the car on E85. The engine oil still gets very hot i...

Drifting/Sailing same same, first time ive had a go at drifting this with the new motor. Unfortunatly the day was cut very short after this as the starter motor decided it had enough and had a short and took out my battery while it was at it. Hopefully better luck next time!

So I broke my rear uni joint on my 5th run of the day and I didnt get the 9 I was after but I am very happy with the outcome as it could have been much worse. New all motor PB 10.854 124.22mph 1.598 60FT With the 150shot of nitrous it ran a 10.08 133mph with a uni breaking 1.47 60ft It definitely has a 9 in the car but not today... Hit a safety for oil pressure at the end but nothing is hurt so all is good. Had to drive off with 2 tyres on still unfortunatly, cold burnout pads really needed 3.00 diff gears in this car and hot burnout pads are fine with these 3.5 gears. I dont think I can do much about this oil problem with this without moving oil tank up to front of the car somewhere but Im not to worried as It doesnt do ...

I got 4 runs in for the Roll Drags on the Friday Night, personally I think way too many cars and the wait times between runs was slow and cars going over 165mph needed tech inspection. GT-R Festival on Saturday was suprisingly full of GT-R's haha It was pretty fun over on the Motorkhana track drifting and I did 2 burnout demos and got a bit carried away on the second one. We unfortunatly did not get the 10 this time round, I will need to go again on a better rear tyre to get the 60ft number down to get it. Best mph was 123 so its showing some good potential. Cars race weight would have been around 1540kgs (3400lbs) roughly with me and the alloy wheels fitted. Engine is the blueprint 454 sbc crate engine, th400 3600stall, 3.36 diff gears. @fryscritters6557 thats just a dji osmo action camera, I had a 360 camera on the roof but the incar footage always looks better
@@MCFRYMotorsportloved it mate 🇦🇺💪👌
Nelson mate youve built 1 awesome car man. Looks to be really responsive which would help in drifting and man you can steer that barge. Awesome video as always man, keep up the amazing work
What gear ratio are you running in the rear?
@krisspykristen 3.36 here, im now running 3.55. I found the gear ratio doesnt effect times a whole lot when the converter is big enough.
What size convertor? (stall)
@@krisspykristen seems to be around 4200rpm
2x beautiful home built hot rods right there
those mustaches are the icing on the cake
🎉🎉🎉 send it 🤙
The very first lap in this video is the first time I have ever driven this track. That back bit I found extremely easy on the south circuit. Had alot of problems trying to get the bit right between turn 4-5 lol
Nice work 👍
Its crazy how well he controls those 360 spins
It will never get old watching that thing dance. Between what you do with this and the other one you're living the dream. Kudos m9.
Does using the handbrake not hurt the box ? I know nothing about autos haha
Not sure seems to work fine, I checked pan recently and everything looked great.
It would be no different to applying foot brakes. Drifters in a manual reef the hydraulic brake without depressing the clutch at times
@@aussiebevo103 interesting, iv been drifting 6 years, I always press the clutch when pulling the hand brake, Engine and everything is spinning at 7000+ rpm and then you would be forcing a sudden stop, can’t be good for stuff haha
@mattmurphydrift1963 now that you mention it, yeah I'd assume not
@mattmurphydrift1963 my gearbox has engine braking, so when that handbrake is applied the box just slows down with it and the converter really should take up all slack. I'd be very surprised if that ever hurt it.
Send it 🤙
Hope to see you out there again soon so i can get some proper photos
@AverjenceOcular I am doing the north circuit drift festival before Christmas, then that's it for the year.
@ i’ll be there 👌
One day I want to get a photo of my hq next to your cars
@unt can drive. I know got robbed a couple years back, but geez it would be good to see McFry turn tyres at SUMMERNATS again.. love your work.
@lindsayollenich748 There is a 50% chance I'd take a car if I got a ticket for the pro burnouts, but knowing I'll get no media coverage will probably make me not want to bother. I'd rather spend that money on what I enjoy doing in the cars.
@@MCFRYMotorsport the cars and the way you drive them are too good to just do skids. Like you say just do what you enjoy with them.
Have a competition were merch gets you a chance for a ride. Bet it would do well.😊
Noice 😅
Factory style tail pipe mounts 2.5 inch are available Often called P mounts . Adjustable by rotation and spacing the rubber strap from chassis .
Extended tailpipes are for Statesman/wagon . The incorrect tail pipe angle is because the index bend angles are wrong . Technically its not correctly made . Many 2.5 inch tailpipes come in 2 piece for easier install and alignment on a 4 post hoist . For a better fitting exhaust run twin pipes as normal ,, then install 120 x 50 oval tube between LH RH exhaust. The type of H pipe maximises ground clearance .
God bless the good people of Australia. The world will never forget how your fascist government treated your people during Covid!
Are the led’s on the switch wired to work in the ground too?
@@J2A61 yes
@ ok thanks
How come you didn't drive halfway to Heathcote on Friday night, to shorten your journey on Saturday morning? Just curious
@blownhemi we didn't really think it through much and I was planning on watching the burnouts Friday night.
@MCFRYMotorsport yeah, that's fair enough. I know you guys love your burnouts, so I figured that was the reason. Thanks for coming and having a great time. Shame about the sump, and sorry about Calder Park.
Just too let you know they are a GM copy of a Salisbury, the Salisbury was only fitted from HK To HG from memory.
@@DavidThomson-b1x a bit like the aussie 4 speed copying the munci 4 speed. They didn't do a great job with those.
Great bunch of blokes, ran into them in the back carpark at iga ouyen ( not certain tho about the non alcoholic drinks purchased tho 😂. Calder park has been the biggest ran down shit show ever since bob jane gave up on the Nascar track. I use to love going there. Thanks again for your time giving us at ouyen a brief rundown on the car etc 👍👍
Great video guys
awesome vid man 👌
Amazing video brother
Just liked it to be the 100th like good job mcfry
Awesome video as always nelson
My whole life in Melbourne, 38 years so far has been one let down after another from Calder Park raceway! could be so good but always without fail management is attrocious, anyone can see the potential to maybe not run the loudest or latest event ever held but just a good solid day with quality ammenities and we'd all be happy, but no ofcourse Calder treats its patrons with contempt as to be expected, fk that joint.
@Ro-ni7nm yes not very happy with that place for the stuff around with the racing, then the security situation was so painful. The guy called and asked his boss and he said we have to wait for the other security guy to get there at 7am. If I knew that I would have left it elsewhere, people break cars after hours during dc and they need to get to the trailers.
Well done mate 👍👍👍
Great stuff love ur videos🔥🔥🔥

Hey mate, do you think 15×8 would fit on the rear without rubbing, or guards to be rolled. ? Thinking about some for my HJ.
@@Kingswood679 yes with 235 60 tyres, 255 60 might need guards rolled.
@MCFRYMotorsport Thanks, man. I definitely don't want to roll guards or anything. Ill look into that combo.
I race my car and the engine bay can be very hot, ad the turbo and downpipe is just 2 feet away in the engine bay. Is it safe to put this lithium battery in??
@upbeatmantis86 it has a temperature limit. They have all that information on their website. Id try work out roughly how hot your current battery gets and work around that temperature.
@@MCFRYMotorsport yeah, it says maximum 85c.. im gonna check my temps in wngine bay before committing to this. But 10-15kg savings is a lot on the front end, compared to going carbon etc
Please put link to where you find a small block 454.!!!! P.S. I don’t believe they exist…..

Lost ALOT of torque trying to find bigger HP, damn
@xXMadman28194Xx This engine made 560ftlbs, 606hp @6500rpm on the engine dyno a few months back. That's straight from blueprint engines, 2" primary headers a port matched super victor intake and a 850 carb. We never used nitrous on the engine dyno as the engine isn't really designed for it, thats just me being greedy with it 😆
Not a 454
@chrisdavis8622 google search 454 BluePrint sbc crate engine
Total ignorance displayed here to workshop practice in diff building . you don't use a hammer and a block of wood to smash back in the carrier with out using a diff case spreading tool that you could have made with threaded rod and some angle . You did this like its a new 4x4 at a ARB store fitting a locker in a brand new car but hey you have old pinion bearings that have done god nows kms with new carrier bearings . I urge people to note this is a video of how NOT to fit a trutrac. The best part he left out was pissing off the crush tube spacer to fit a stack of shims and a solid pinion spacer turned up on a lathe to rid the diff of its weekness. No good wacking in a locker or trutrack with a crush spacer on the pinons. in all cases its best to piss off the crushable spacer and set it up like a nine inch . Whats going to happen here is the crush tube will fail , the diff get bearing play and the 10 bolt will get baged out and blamed for being too weak when it busts up and gets all noisy and destroyes that expensive trutrac but when built correctly can handle a lot more than he has given it . These can handle 550kw with 31 spilne so its not the gear set in the 10 bolt holding it back its the crush tube . GOOD LUCK buying those spacers when you crack them bashing the carrier in like this video . All i can see here is a pile of people watching the video and in future bagging out how bad the holden 10 bolt is for not following correct diff building procedure. Fact is you don't need a 9 inch untill your twisting 31 spline axles and need 35s. following corect diff building proceedures will keep your car as light as possible with the 10 bolt performing well with out the dead weight added unessesary of the 9'' This could have been a great video but its a total balls up oof everything not to do .
@hzsandman308 you are correct here, I was just lazy and slapped it together. It did endup cracking a bearing from beating it in. I only noticed as I swapped diff gears to 3.55, they are a pain of a diff as you need special tools and spacers to get them right and to remove the whole diff to take to a diff shop as also a pain. I can see why everyone goes to 9" as they are just easy to work on.
Let’s go
Wild ride
Great sbc 454 i want one with the fuel injection. Is it a good deal? Value for the money?
@LionsTigersBears I think so for a sbc engine and the power it makes, its also very street friendly.
Or you could use a 454 .........weirdo small block type people
@unclesquirrel6951 this makes the same torque and power as the 454big block and is 60+kgs lighter. Weight reductions = fast 😎
The in-car footage of you taking the 216km/h trip down the straight at the start has you looking like you're moseying on to Church on a Sunday morning.... Cool as a cucumber... 😎
Im pretty confident in my cars. I've hit enough stuff and lost it enough times not to have to worry about it much anymore.
Get rid of that 7200rpm converter.
@@Hombre632 I have, it was the first thing that got changed after the event.

Mate love the cars. I have a HQ I just ordered the same setup as what you have. Where did you buy the headers from ?
@alexmcphee7519 castle headers, they are honestly a bit overkill and the pacemaker 1 3/4 primary headers would be plenty and fit better. 2" primary is something you would have on something with boost or big nitrous.
@MCFRYMotorsport Mate I appreciate the response. Judging by the videos mate she is hauling ass big time
