Val Cox Frit New Blends Teaser Trailer
Hey, i love these, do you do lampwork still?
I like it, very beautiful 😊❤
I don’t use val cox frit myself which is the reason I’m suggesting this to you but have you tried encasing the silver then applying the frit on top of the clear coat to see what the frit looks like with the silver as a backing? If u try it I hope it looks good for you
Hello, very interesting! And is it possible to print a logo or a letter on such a bead? Thank you!
Cool thanks. Laurie. NZ.
Beautiful
Very beautiful beads !
I love your work and I really want to watch your videos but I wish so much that you didn’t have music on them. Maybe I’m extremely sensitive but I just can’t deal with it. 😢
❤❤❤
❤❤❤
Beautiful work! I loved this video thank you!
ur beads are lovely
:O
Liked and subscribed
These coated metal rods you use to hold the glass, can you pls tell me what r those?
They are called mandrils, and the white part on it is just a coating of bead release she put on the mandril beforehand
Fascinating! Now I understand why they aren’t cheap. 😀 Those are very pretty beads!
wow 😘
3:29 - subliminal message to crave some lentil soup X)
That is so clever and lovely beads I can do spacers but not work beads in threes and decorate I wish I could I’ll try again thanks for this video very interesting
I never understood why ASMR is a thing until I watched this video. At first I had to stop after a few seconds because I couldn't stand hearing the saliva swish around in your mouth when you talk, but then I came back and watched it just for that reason. It's like a weird combination of revulsion and annoying enjoyment. You'd be super successful if you did ASMR videos. Just sayin'.
Where did you purchase the graphite marver?
It was so long ago I do not remember, sorry!
Cool beads
How do I get the silver lustered and not dull or flat looking?
Absolutely beautiful work!
Hi I love your videos! I am from eastern Europe and I've began glass bead making myself! We don't have schools for it or courses so youtube is my teacher! I'm currently working with beginners setup. Everything is so expensive and not easy to get from here. I just wish i had some Kiln alternatives i could find etc! :D Love your work i keep on watching!
Love it with the Evil glass. It would be a good way to use up some of mine.
Dreaded uniboob LOL.
Not my favourite frit but then I saw it with the opal yellow and the copper green/silver foil mix. - I love it. - Great review.
Thank you beautiful bead and great simple tutorial.
Excellent video. Love the reactions. I have a question about filming and editing. Your video is very well done. May I ask what editing software you use and how you set up your camera?
Hi Karen, I used my GoPro camera and edited the video with just the iMovie app on my iPhone. I also take an old lens from a pair of didymium glasses and tape that on over my GoPro like a sort of makeshift filter, to help with the sodium flare from the flame. Glad you liked the tutorial :)
@@amyhouston7785 Thank you. I will look into GoPro. Great idea with the old didymium glasses.
Love watching and would love to make some BUT I know my limitations and I am sure that I would be burnt badly...so I am happy to watch...Thank you for sharing
Just a short while ago I found some stunning lamp work beads on Etsy, fell in love, and ordered a bunch. Then, this video showed up on my recommended list, and I recognized the beads right away! I’m so glad I was able to see how these are made! I’m very excited to create necklaces out of your beads, Amy! (I do wire wrapping with silver and gemstones!)
I guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Zayd Kohen Instablaster ;)
@Saint Wesson thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Saint Wesson it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy! Thanks so much you saved my account!
@Zayd Kohen Happy to help :D
Hi what COE r you using? Ty
I mostly use 104 and 96 COE.
Try this with silver fume !
You made that look so easy. I have yet to make even a simple bead satisfactorily. Always breaks taking it off the mandrel
Are you annealing them first?
Probably not. I had to look up what that meant. I've just been letting the glass cool naturally. I need to take a class to learn the basics. How do you anneal your work?
@@lauralrobison I have a Paragon Bluebird kiln . I work with boro so the temperatures for annealing are a little different . If you can afford or get a kiln a good alternative you can try is putting them in vermiculite or kiln blanket until it cools down .
@@lauralrobison you need a kiln. Or a vermiculite crockpot too cool so u can anneal in a kiln later also called batch annealing.
@@lauralrobison try soaking in water and try twisting them back and forth off. Trying to crumble the bead release
Thanks for the tutorial. What did you use for your clear encasing.
Thank you. Question why not use a big fluffy flame to keep the beads warm? I haven’t managed to make a bead yet, lots of frit and globs, but I’m determined to get it. Next video, can you put a list of colors and makers for the rods? That’ll be really helpful!
lovely
I feel like a moron, but will you answer a question....I’m having trouble with terminology. COE I know it’s about glass expansion, but what do the numbers mean? What is striking? What is reduction? Thanks,
COE stands for coefficient of expansion. It relates to how much and how fast the glass expands when it’s heated and how much/how fast it contracts when it’s cooled. Generally glasses of different COE don’t play well together, but you can get away with a bit between COEs that are close. Striking is when you let the glass cool a certain amount and then reheat it quickly. There is chemistry involved and I don’t know enough to explain it 😊 same with reducing - it’s a chemical reaction where metals come to the surface of the glass and it’s done in a flame that is less oxygen rich than usual.
Really clear and informative tutorial. Love the effects of the silver stringer and the wonderful silver wire detail. So excited to try this soon.
Can you add a feather from pet bird without scorching the feather?
No, it would burn for sure. The flame is really hot. I can work with cremains/ashes from pets but not hair or feathers.
Loved ur video make more ty
Beautiful, thank you!
Amy. You don’t by any chance live in Florida? I could use a class or two.
Where do you get the dies for the press?
I got everything to do with the press from Jim Moore tools
Thank you :D
Awesome!
Where do u get your frit?
Susan Halka Val Cox at valcoxfrit.com and valcox.com
Amy Hall wondering when u say “reactive”. Is it a reduction flame? Striking flame? Neutral or kiln striking?
Amy, Please share how you make so many beads on one mandrel.
I work quickly! And the beads are very small so almost all of them survive. Sometimes I lose a few.
thank you for sharing your test I'm really wanting to place an order soon for some of the fruit blends it lets me know what i should try this summer
Well done ;-) very symmetrical, cool experiencing your creativity in the torch ..
