    What small world friend. You painted yor RSk196 the same color of green that I painted mine. A dupont Stieger green. And yes the little long stroke 7 HP brings they give in the kit is unreliable as Hell. Plus a gutless wonder. I might use it later on a tiller.

    Neat little rig, looks like a lot of fun... If I had some property and spare $25-$30K to spend, I'd definitely want to get one. Though I think the Chinese mini-excavators and dozers you can get now days are quite a bit less money.

    It looks like it could use a counter weight on the back to help with pushing dirt. I just saw one with a mold board plow making a decent size garden. It has the torque for sure, just needs like an extra 200lbs to help.

    Hi jim, i hve a slight problem where my driver side rear disc doesnt seem to be braking evenly, ive taken te caliper off and cleaned everything and copper slipped pins, i screwed the piston back in slightly and wondered after u press breaks this should puts the piston back out to where it puts pressure on pad , or do i need unscrew it out so its tight fit when fitted over pads?, just cannot fathom out when its not using whole of disc, having checked these its either the caliper needs bleed or the calipers seized.

    You need to clean pins and grease them as they seize up and clean caliper where pads sit.

    observation: @ 0:55 it can barely push loose loamy forest soil. Struck owners are a strange bunch.

  • @itsruf1
    @itsruf1 4 роки тому

    observation: At the beginning of the video until0:18 there is damage on the lawn beside the drive. Did the toy do that? It looked like mud tracks matching the toy. It just seems a compact tractor would be a wiser purchase, you know, do a variety of tasks from pushing easy stuff around (like that thing) to . . .everything including plowing the long drive.

    • @jimtheflea
      @jimtheflea 4 роки тому

      I don't know what your problem is, but you obviously have a hard on for Struck for some reason. I bought my 1st Struck back in 1974 and then two other models over the past 46 years and never once did any "tracks" fall off. I also have an older Kubota 4WD loader/backhoe and an older Yanmar loader. They all have their good points and shortcomings. I like the maneuverability and pushing power of the Struck stuff, but for digging things the Kubota has the job. For mowing the grass, then I might think about your John Deere.

    • @itsruf1
      @itsruf1 4 роки тому

      @@jimtheflea Well Jimmy, in '74 there weren't compact utility tractors like today. It's 2020 in my area. That aside I guess you admit to scalping the lawn and using something else to plow snow. Sorry to hear about the older Kubota. Those were in their infancy. Modern compact utilities will walk circles around them. Goooogle roll over blade, it will replace the dinosaur.

      @@jimtheflea umm . . the Rockies are "rocky"? But you are correct if they were you couldn't with that thing. Watch a few Deere 3320 videos. You'll trade that toy in. Seems alot of those get traded in after the tracks fall off and not being very useful ?

      You don 't use a hammer to cut a cake. This is actually a good tool for this job. You don't have to bring a big tractor into such a small confined area and tear the crap out of everything (land and machine) in order to be effective. You can do a lot with the right tool as long as you take your time and use a little common sense...

    • @jimtheflea

      Chain from the engine to the steering clutch pulleys, belts to the drive pulleys, then chain to final drive sprockets. Rather ingenious system that works very well.

    • @FretsNirvana

      Thanks ...got me thinking here. I wonder if this could be made Remote control with some RC linear actuators controlling the drive levers. I am interested in a driverless mini skid steer arrangement for handling rough terrain pulling small bush hogs, sprayers etc.. With this concept, these implements would have to be self powered but that is not a problem I already own ATV like implements. I also own a mini skid steer and Dresser TD7G bulldozer so the application you are using this for is not necessary. But areas that are dangerous for the atv implements and mini skid steer need a different tool. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

      @FretsNirvana 7 років тому

      OK ...let me ask it in a different way. :) What kind of linkage is there for the control levers? And more importantly, do you think this thing would be powerful enough to climb and move around on steep rough ground?

      @jimtheflea 7 років тому

      This video pretty well describes how the drive system works: ua-cam.com/video/nrPnODYnYbc/v-deo.html Stability and power is no problem on any terrain. I've been on some pretty steep slopes.

    • @jimtheflea
      @jimtheflea 7 років тому

      No, I have another machine for snow removal that has an angle snow blade. I did have an old Struck MD50 that I built back in the 70's, and used it for snow. It did fine.

    • @swm40245
      @swm40245 7 років тому

      Would you recommend the rubber shoes for snow removal or do you think the groused shoes would work fine? I don't have either one on my Struck so trying decide which on to buy. Thanks

    • @jimtheflea
      @jimtheflea 7 років тому

      I have no experience with the rubber tread. The only consideration could be using the steel cleats on asphalt. Either one would certainly be an advantage over smooth steel track.
