    Isnt it amazing if you compare how much the soviet union did to protect the citizens, compared to nowadays? I mean even bunkers are a rarity, let alone any kind of protective equipment or any medical equipment except the occasional first aid kit you find in some public place And to be honest, fearing for a war has never been justified more than currently

    • @ProjectSparkPC
      @ProjectSparkPC Місяць тому

      I cannot speak for other nations, but as of post-Soviet space, civil defense institutions still exist. At least in Russia. Some of the shelters are still maintained, modern GP-7 variations are still in production among with other models and stocks of other emergency equipment are kept, although the scale is much smaller. In fact, there is an agency called Rosreserve, it is in charge of maintaining large stocks of pretty much everything, ranging from grain and toilet paper, to construction vehicles and industrial materials. All of that is meant for extreme national emergencies. But regardless, the Soviet scale of preparation is astonishing, not comparable at all to nowadays. It is one of the benefits of a socialist planned economy, where resources can be directed to very much needed but unprofitable endeavors.

    • @ProjectSparkPC
      @ProjectSparkPC Місяць тому

      It is quite likely a mismatched kit put together by modern sellers, this happens quite often. You can take a look at dates on every individual part of the kit to check. If everything matches perfectly though, you might have something pretty unusual. It is worth mentioning that GP-5 filters were manufactured for a short period of time after the mask itself went out of production as far as I know, so a filter from 90' is realistic.

    hey, this may be unusual, but i have had a pair of kirza boots develop mold on the surface after sitting in closet for a few months. you think theres a possibility of it just being humid and perhaps i put them away wet? regardless i have cleaned them with some vinegar, we’ll see how that goes.

    • @ProjectSparkPC

      Never experienced mold developing on kirza to be honest, but I do recommend keeping them dry.

      @anonymouswanderer7257 Місяць тому

      @ yeah i thought it was pretty odd myself, never seen that or even thought it possible. also they seem to have salt stains since i bought them, quite a few years ago now, nothing seems to remove it or keep it at bay. probably normal for 50 year old boots that were kept in a warehouse in ukraine.

    • @anonymouswanderer7257
      @anonymouswanderer7257 Місяць тому

      @ couldve also been the leather lower that was the source of mold. it was really only a small amount on the synthetic material.

    • @ProjectSparkPC
      @ProjectSparkPC Місяць тому

      Yeah, mold on actual leather is more plausible. I suggest you dry them out thoroughly and then apply some good shoe wax. But only after they are COMPLETELY dry, otherwise you are sealing moisture. It's also a fun coincidence how the pair featured in the video is also from Ukraine, I picked them up for like 3 dollars in Kiev several years ago. They were in a completely wrecked state when I got them, but a good wash and some fine was did the thing, also had to clean and repair the insoles.
