Can i get a job in st Helena. I want togo there plz
Watching that man cry on the News Network segment is exactly how I felt when The Phoenix Light UFO flew right over my head in 1997. I was on a hill, the craft was low. I could clearly see the bottom of the craft with the light of my headlights and a nearby street light. Just after the craft flew over my head it was followed by a colorful mist. At that point I felt like something clicked in my head and I began crying until the craft was out of sight. Ever since then I've become a better person, give the other guy a break more, happier, my friends and coworkers all notice the change. I sit in my house smiling for no reason, I let people cut in line, I've not honked my horn once in 28 years years when prior to this experience I did have some road rage. What that man described is exactly how my life has changed, for the better 24 hours a day for over a quarter of a century. Most every time I speak of my sighting I cry still, happy tears, joy, gratitude. I still catch myself speaking out loud 'thank you, thank you, thank you' to whoever it was inside that craft that night. I would love to get to share my life changing personality change of patience, love, gratitude, joy with that man. I am so grateful they included that in the segment. Of all the other witnesses to The Phoenix Lights I've spoken to none had the profound feeling of gratitude and love that I felt and it's still a constant feeling 24/7 all these years. It's like my DNA changed in a second.
The thing that has long amused me about South Georgia is what has happened to the structures that were built for the whaling/sealing industries. The buildings weren't taken apart. They're still there. And they still have residents. Male residents. Big male residents, absolutely flush with testosterone and exhibiting the most dreadful manners and still worse attitudes towards the fairer sex. In summer the elephant seals arrive. They have business to attend to. Giving birth, nursing little ones, moulting, scratching, scratching, being impregnated by males 10 times the size, and scratching. Only the very largest meanest toughest most aggressive and ornery males get to do the dirty with the poor tired new mums. They're the Beach Masters. They take over a big section of beach, and do terrible bloody, even deadly, things to any other males who set flipper on THEIR beach. BUT...while they may have their own beach...the wind blows over it, all day, all night. They may be the biggest blubberiest toughest dudes ashore. And what good is it being King, if you're sharing the same shoddy digs with all your subjects. Shoddy cold, windy digs.Chilly windy, wind blowing sand everywhere. In your eyes, up your nose, in all the itchy spots. The girls, they all look at you. They roll their eyes. No respect. The Beach Masters of South Georgia took action. They've moved into the old whaling buildings. They don't let in ANY females, or juvenile males. Only beach masters. Though they won't tolerate so much as a sight of each other on the shore. Ah but indoors, where no one can see them, things are quite different. All the display and fighting is instantly forgotten. It is such a scene. They're all lolling about there together, happy as larry, sheltered from the wind, scratching, and scratching. Huge lumps, rolling about, farting, scratching their parts, knocking into each other, burping like jack hammers. and stinking like nobody's business. Like a nightmare frat house.
Please pronounce the name of the island correctly. There is no nasal ñ in Cunha, despite the Portuguese nh. Take it from me: I have been there twice for lengthy stays. Thankfully, you got the pronunciation of St. Helena correct.
When is Cities Skylines 1 going to increase building limit to 100,000?
What would happen if you showed up with tens of millions of pounds in coins and banknotes and sprinkled it around the frequented areas of the island?
My first name is Tristan. When i was a little kid i had a map and i found this island and circled it. As i got older i always came back and tried looking it up. Eventually pictures were up and now on google maps etc. Hopefully one day i can travel there
Plastic is the worst human invention
Very true
the island has only 1 fresh water spring , which is on the beach at the northern end and is only usable at low tide
Sounds like paradise to me ❤
Nice to visit. Could not deal with the isolation unless I was born there.
Didnt the survivors of the Whaleship Essex land there?
I'm not sure about the Essex , but there was a guy who paid some people with a yacht to drop him , some chickens and 2 goats off there in the 1970s . Well every 12 months or so some Pitcairn islanders go there to cut down trees for wood carving and other things and they found him , He had been there for 9 months and he had eaten all the animals and was going insane from the loneliness .
@@Lukejb2Butterworth I looked it up..hollywood made a film about it .. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essex_(whaleship)
@@billyleroy2465 Wow what a horrible experience , I knew I was right about there being a fresh water source below the tideline . I guess old Neptune got his revenge for killing whales
@@Lukejb2Butterworth Here is the film I just watched it few days ago pretty good film..the Essex inspired Moby Dick. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Heart_of_the_Sea_(film)
7:14 They refer to each other as brothers and sisters because they probably are 😂
Can't they tunnel underground for bad weather?
Great channel!!.. very interesting all... Thanks!!!.. greetings from México!
I want to live there
Very good video
I would like to visit Tristan da Cuhna for a few weeks, maybe even a few months or a year. I would like to go for walks over the hills, and along the cliff tops, and do some fishing, also relax and do some writing, and get to know the locals.
What a super wee video. I’d love to live there and enjoy the simple life and be part of a caring community. You’re all so lucky though I’d imagine for some it may be too isolating. Happy new year to you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Totally glosses over the real history of Pitcairn
ra ts
Awful background music makes this interesting documentary not worth watching
Beautiful Island . Sir, your subject and style of presentation is truly commendable. Your command over language is amazing. 👍 Inspiring joy
It’s sort of cool
Is there any school 😂
My step grandfather was with the corp of engineers that built the airstrip in WWII. He recounted how the German uboats kept sinking supply ships, one was within view. They were out of food but managed to survive on bird eggs.
Thanks
Thaks for watching and supporting the channel, it is really appreciated 😉
What is there to do ?
Enjoying nature, hiking, socializing with your neighbors. A stark contrast from the world of abundance we live in, but I'd wager visiting a place like this would make you feel more alive than ever.
I gotta ask... is the narration or script AI generated? The topics you explore are genuinely interesting, but something about it just sort of feels artificial because it's so clean and perfect lol. If i'm wrong, I apologize for the insinuation. Take what I said about it being clean and perfectly presented as a compliment. If they are AI generated, they're at least way better than a lot of other AI videos (a lot of which are full of downright conspiritorial BS & disinformation.) The videos I've seen of yours provide actual factual info, so I can honestly say it's providing substance. In any case, wish you the best!
Thanks for this comment 👍 and to answer your question, the script is partly AI generated, however I do my own research on the internet too to make sure of the details and I also edit the script so it does not sound too "AI" however, based on your ability to notice it being AI, I do need to do a better job. Also, the voice is an AI generated voice,, I do however put the video together myself. I appreciate the feedback, thanks for watching 👍
@@FactoidFactoryYT I really respect the honesty here! And I also respect the fact you do your own research to confirm things. Honestly, the topics you pick out are great and super interesting. I don't usually watch AI generated content, but the feel of your videos feels a lot more authentic than a ton of other AI generated videos... Some people just pump out AI generated content constantly in rapid succession, posting multiple videos daily across multiple channels. There's no time, let alone a passion or desire to make good or interesting content when people do that... It's just a cash grab. Your channel feels different in that regard... I mean, the fact you respond to comments is a testament to that, in my opinion. So I'll keep watching :) If I might ask, is there a reason you use an AI generated voice as opposed to narrating it yourself? I'm not suggesting you switch it up, it seems like you've got a pretty good thing going and if you continue to fine tune the scripts, the content will continue to improve. I think there's definitely place for AI narration so it's not a drawback for me.

Hoping I can buy a boat and visit this island one day and make camp and explore for a week or 2, great video 👍
It is really sad how this island was used in such a negative way!
Absolutely agree with you. Thanks for watching 👍
I live on a small island called the uk 😂
Isn't pitcairn the remotest habitat island?
Since the distance between South africa and Tristan da cunha is more than that between Pitcairn and the Gambier islands, Tristan Da Cunha would be the most remote inhabited island
Hi, secretary 😮
Keep that island christian. Wont go to Zanzibar as the Bible is ban their. Dont support Muslim countries.
Thats how i like my dish pan fried no batter.
Need a break from South Africa banana 🍌 Republic. Stay their on that island three weeks.
