Isle of the Blessed Hexahedron (The Talos Principle 2 DLC) - Hexahedron Checkpoint 10
I don't know such words that could describe how mad I am at this nonsense. A couple of hours of searching these plates to finally give up and find the solution on UA-cam. Adding statues in DLC was a bad decision because in the original game they were no less annoying. Thank you!
ahahahahahaha I went to 13. I used 2 box to jump wall and I took one box and out the area 13. Then I used to box high wall 14 area used never light ahahahahah
That’s stupid (I’m stupid) I never would have noticed that you can fit the accumulator through that hole. I simply figured they wouldn’t allow that, although I did notice it was different shaped than usual. Fuck me
I first solved this by first connecting the beam to shift the barrier, and I basically jumped off the ledge, strafed right mid-air to make it to the other side. A second solution is to get on the gravity pad and literally jump over the blue barrier. These were the two solutions I found but it looks like you can also cheese it by two other methods as people mentioned here, seems like a broken puzzle really.
I cheesed this by placing the connector on top of the middle fence post to the right of the elevator.
Man, this puzzle threw me for a loop. I was convinced I needed all three elements- block, rgb, inverter... yet knew that was impossible. I did eventually solve it myself Everything else on the marshes was a breeze
Lmao I found a much more elegant solution 😂 Great video, great puzzle!
There is an simpler "alternative" solution by placing the receiver on a protruding ledge of the pillar just before the final gate - the red ray goes underneath the blue's....very neat and quick solution. In fact, I thougth this was THE solution as the ledge is the only place were you can elevate the receiver and quite visible too (subtle but obvious).
I did it this way but I inmediately thought it wasn't right
Your FOV is so crazy high - how much is it?
I rotated the small sphere while I was on top of it and jumped to the finish line once I got close enough. It felt like a really weird puzzle.. so that's why I'm here and it seems that I really solved it in a weird way.
This one is even easier than this. It's broken in that you can place the charged accumulators (one red, one blue) on the second level right from the bottom level, thus you don't even need the inverter. Just place them both on the second level (left side if you're at the entrance) to open the first gate, then when it's open, cross over the barrier, then pick them up and place them on the right side). Video shows the way it was intended to be solved though.
I grabbed the fan on the other side when placed on the top of the box. You have to almost fall and quickly press grab and then go back. A little useless trick :)
Ben's Comments: I read a comment saying that Alternator from West-3 had 4 solutions, but Oscillator from Into the Abyss was basically Alternator reworked so that it had only one solution. I wonder how many solutions this puzzle has in total...
I felt like my solution was a bit of a hack and found this video looking for the "right" way. You can reach the red side after it spins from puzzle 8 "The High Road" using the inverter. So I used the extra connector to extend blue, set green like normal, and shot red from across the puzzles.
IMO this is not the intended solution. There is a way to solve it without having to "time it" when you go into the final door. It's possible to have all red green and blue gates on permanently.
God I forgot you can just pick up the teleporter. :D
method patched out
What do you mean? The method shown in the video? That's how laser physics have worked since TTP1. What changed?
Surely this is the intended method
I didn't solve it loke that, i didnt use the second cennector... The abyss is a nightmare but the Ring is a really great puzzle, while the others are just too much for my brain
This puzzle is bullshit lol. If you go back, and duplicate this exact thing while simply putting it in front of the fan, then only connecting the blue, it doesn't push it far enough. It's only until you're standing there does it nudge it a little bit further to connect. By far the dumbest puzzle in the entire game, makes no sense how the fan is able to push it further based on where you're standing.
This puzzle can be Metathesised.
I cheesed this puzzle without even getting the cube or using the red 4 laser
You can take the connector out of this puzzle through a hole in the wall in the room where you first find it. After that, multiple puzzles on the isle can be completed in unintended ways.
Man, I didn’t even bother trying to look for these myself 😅. Glad I came straight here.
Thanks for these guides, real lifesaver for when I get stuck. Heads up, your placement for that last green connector is in the wrong spot in this video; if you place it on that ledge instead of carrying it with you to the purple anti-grav whatchamacallit and find a good spot for it in the area that the anti-grav takes you to, you won't be able to connect the connector in Checkpoint 7.
yeah I had to record this all in a weird way because of the checkpoints. I think I corrected that offscreen later.
LOL I missed the last logical step so I ended up glitching my way up, activating the fan with the teleporter on the button, but with the connector already placed, next to me on the cube. I tried 20 times and then it worked. The automated jump definitely helped.
Thanks! I just couldn't be bothered to solve this one, constantly having to look around in 3D (you can never see the whole or even a large part of the puzzle), and I didn't like the connection strength mechanic of this entire first part of the DLC. The story was pretty good though, and I liked some of the other puzzles, though I think the connection strength mechanic wasn't explained or hinted at at all and doesn't really make sense.
This puzzle was a PitA. So many softlocks. "Fragile" Balance alright.
Really puts the jump in jump start
I was never going to solve this one.
Anyone else see the easter egg attached to this one?
dogshit puzzle
I didn't use the second reflector at the very end. You can connect the rgb to the reflector+inverter next to it for red+blue. Actually thought you would do that, when you moved the inverter forward a bit to make room for the double connection :) Still, neat puzzle!
The first step in the resolution is useless
...oh. Well thats a much less psychotic way to solve it than I did. Helps if you don't keep both constantly spinning! :)
I do believe we went for the same 'alternative' solution, being upside down on a spinning moon :D Making the puzzle both more difficult than it needed to be and more fun!
Once the puzzle is complete you can break the teleporter and other items out by using the fan and dropping the teleporter on the wall as you fall, then teleport on top of the wall and escape.
clever! although i doubt those items could be used to cheese other areas
Reminds me of the first game with those stars that made you feel like you were doing things not planned by the devs like that
This puzzle was so easy and janky I had to come and check if i did it right.
I cheated, I took a cube into the purple chamber I was able to jump onto the walls and I could pick it up with me, dropping back into the main chamber. I had both dissolvers, one simply to activate the switch and the other looking at the one hole that needed to be made at the end. No need for the hole-ception
i actually jumped to the box and connect the light, and i timed the moment when i flied and i pick the wand at the right time. you are not to solve it this way but it worked so...
I hated the Abyss but this one was really good
Me too I just ran after blocking laser with my body 🏃🏻
You can take the blue ray from puzzle 5 into Oscillation quite easily by placing a connector near the gates of both puzzles - from Oscillation you can't see the connector at puzzle 5 because it's behind the trees but from the 3rd tree (from left to right) and going up along the trunk you'll eventually should detect it. It's proper cheating, I know...but I wasn't so sure initially and I regret not having another try because at one point I did get both doors opening one after the other...only one of them was too fast and it was just a question of changing the position of one connector. Then another puzzle involved taking rays from another puzzle and I'm sure that was the intended way...(I'm going the check the solutions found by others to find confirmation).
ok I just wanted to verify that I indeed cheesed it, because in order to get the connector on the platform above, I ended up just putting it on the cube and then when the fan turned on quickly jumping on the cube with the connector on it too. I could just jump on the platform before losing balance, and I just grabbed the connector from the cube. That couldn't be the intended solution.
Without any hesitation, the worst ”puzzle” in Talos 1 and 2. Combined
I solved it using a different method, apparently you can jump above the blue beam wall from the gravity wall
Proud to have done it at first try bc there was a very similar one in the first talos principle road to gihenna, called binary
Ben's Comments: This puzzle is called "The Conservatory" in the first game, and it's a red sigil puzzle.
Ben's Comments: This puzzle is called "Slightly Elevated Sigil" in the first game, and it's a green sigil puzzle.
Ben's Comments: This puzzle is called "Bichromatic Entanglement" in the first game, and it's a red sigil puzzle.
Lol, and here I went all the way back to puzzle 3, inverted red to blue, sent blue along the outside connectors, then inverted the blue back to red. Good to know how it was "supposed" to be solved though.
I found the green emitter and the station connector on my first visit to Southern Coast. I came back for the stars and golden puzzle. Even with the steam hints, I could not see the connector on top of the rocks. It was invisible to me until I saw it in your video.
