Tracker Optimizes Swath Width for Maximum Efficiency
Here, the T-Series SeaBat tracker option controls the swath width, which was initially set very narrow. Tracker determines that a larger swath is possible and begins to open up the swath angle. This allows users to operate hands-free, confident that the SeaBat sonar is achieving the most efficient swath coverage, avoiding any loss of survey time.

Tracker Prevents Oversaturation in Backscatter Data
Переглядів 2621 день тому
In the SeaBat T-Series sonar wedge, the beams are now color-coded by intensity. Red/orange beams indicate that the signal is reaching saturation levels, which should be avoided as it leads to poor backscatter. Once the SeaBat T-Series Tracker option is enabled, the settings are adjusted almost instantly to match the seabed response. You will notice that the beams turn green, indicating an adequ...
Normalized Backscatter Maintains Data Integrity
Переглядів 1521 день тому
In this example, you will observe that while the user adjusts sonar settings such as power gain, absorption, and spreading, the backscatter remains unaffected. The SeaBat T-Series sonar accurately measures the seabed response because the normalized backscatter is adjusted to account for these sonar settings. Normalized backscatter allows users to adjust sonar settings without compromising the q...
Adaptive Gates Follow Complex Seabed Terrain
Переглядів 1921 день тому
Gates aid in bottom detection by minimizing false detections. Any gate can follow a flat seabed, but the SeaBat T-Series comes with unique adaptive gates. As seen in this example, the gates follow both flat terrain and steep cliffs. This is one of the ways the SeaBat T-Series produces the best data and the widest swaths.
Tracker Rescues Poor Data and Swath Coverage
Переглядів 1521 день тому
This example first demonstrates poor data quality. Not only is there significant noise due to poor detections, but there are also data gaps (Holidays) leading to reduced swath coverage. Ultimately, this results in extensive manual cleaning, tighter line spacing, and repeated survey runs. In all cases, users spend more time on their surveys to get it right. The cause of these poor data is inadeq...
Tracker Automatically Adjusts Short Range Settings
Переглядів 2921 день тому
This is a classic case where the range is set too short, causing the outer beams to be out of range of the seabed. The result is noisy data, extensive data cleaning, reduced coverage, and lost ship time. This scenario can easily occur when the depth changes without the operator noticing. With the SeaBat T-Series Tracker option enabled, less monitoring is needed as it will ensure the range is ad...
Tracker Ensures Clean data and Efficient Mapping
Переглядів 1521 день тому
See how the SeaBat T-Series tracker option can instantly improve your survey data. In this example, the outer beams are too weak (marked with blue), resulting in noisy data. The range is too long, leading to low ping rates. With Tracker enabled, the appropriate range settings are automatically identified. We also observe that the beams provide a stronger seabed response (marked with green), red...

Surveying Artificial Reefs with a SeaBat T51
Переглядів 1162 місяці тому
Artificial reefs make a great playground to produce stunning data when passed over with a SeaBat T51 at 800 kHz. But aside from that they have a more meaningful purpose. Artificial reefs allow for sea life to recover from a decline in habitat. These reefs act as a recruitment, growth and resting zone for fish species and other sea life. Ar...

Traditional multibeam sonar systems have historically struggled with accurately detecting vertical structures, often facing issues such ...
Using Multibeam SONAR Technology Through the Life of Marine Construction Projects
Переглядів 1477 місяців тому
In marine construction projects, work is often done “in the blind”. Using multibeam SONAR technology can aid this process in all phases of the project. Pre-construction scans can provide a base line look at an area. This can help put real numbers on quantities as well as highlight any anomalies in the project area that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. This additional information increases the...

Great product. One question, I am inquisitive as to other methods that might require across or along tracking, so with this product is the detection and tracking constrained to across track (zig-zag motions across the target) or along tracking (parallel motion to the target)

Why did you delete the interview video with OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush

"Arnie Weissmann, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly, initially agreed to join the June expedition, the Washington Post reports, but backed out at the last minute due to a scheduling conflict. A May dive he was supposed to go on also was canceled due to bad weather. A conversation he had with OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush the night before the expedition, however, still haunts him to this day. According to Weissmann, Rush had bought the carbon fiber used to make the Titan "at a big discount from Boeing," because "it was past its shelf life for use in airplanes". In other words, Rush knew that the carbon fiber - which is a very poor choice of material for a deepsea vessel, as many experts have pointed out - already potentially had flaws that could've played a role in the Titan's tragic demise." - courtesy of Futurism

*LET'S NOT FORGET* : Stockton Rush preferred not to hire veteran submarine pilots. "Ah yes, when I started the business, one of the things you'll find is there are other sub operators out there, but they typically have gentlemen who are ex-military submariners, and you'll see a whole bunch of 50-year-old white guys". "You're gonna go to the Titanic, you're going to be spending eight days on a boat, you don't want every person to have the same experience of having been on a US nuclear sub, or worked for Atlantis Submarines, and they all have the same background". Stockton Rush's team included a varsity athlete and a *dude* who surfed in Iceland in the winter. "Really get people who have a diverse background, and then train them and train and train and train so that it *does come off as* a polished and safe operation". "We can train people to do that. We can train someone to pilot the sub. We use a GAME controller, so *anybody* can drive the sub". OceanGate's Engineers were in their teens and paid $15 an hour. They hired college interns to design the electrical systems for the Titan. "Lock them in a container". "I think it was General MacArthur who said, ‘You’re remembered for the rules you break.’ And I’ve broken some rules to make this. The carbon fiber and titanium? There’s a rule you don’t do that. Well, I did". And these guys talked to *aka Jim Jones* with a serious tone. *SMDH*

*Rush wasn’t really looking to build a tourism business to the Titanic,” Bloom said. “He wanted to research and document the decay of the ship over time.”. "Multiple dives to the site costs a lot of money. A way to finance his scientific observation was to bring observers down with him,” Bloom added. Bloom shared with Rush that his son was “concerned about the danger” of the trip after researching the “perceived threats to the vessel.”. Bloom suggested a sperm whale or a giant squid could attack the sub and compromise the hull. “Yeah very stupid the pressure is over 100 million pounds no sperm whale or squid is ever going to be able to mess with the sub,” Rush replied - courtesy of New York Post* *LET'S NOT FORGET* : Stockton Rush preferred not to hire veteran submarine pilots.
