    Could you teach us how to use 365nm uv light to aid the identification of igneous rocks? Or maybe it is not possible at all?

    Very good course. Mud is converted to shale rock by pressure solution of, most prominently, quartz. Google "Proposed Model for Shale Compaction Kinetics " .

    Lesson ONE for geologists should be the explanation of the catastrophism theory. This theory is based on the findings of the French naturalist and paleontologist Georges Cuvier around the year 1800. During the excavations when making roads through France, he discovered the fossils from land and sea creatures in the same layer, strata. But also in the layer on top of that and the one below. So he concluded that the planet Earth is suffering from a recurring natural disaster where flooding must cover a large part of the land even on high places. But I assume that this theory is neglected because nobody could think of the possible cause of regular floods. Ancient books tell us that our planet Earth is suffering from a cycle of seven natural disasters. The only possible cause of such a cycle can be a celestial body that orbits our sun in an eccentric orbit. Than that body, planet, will be close to the sun for a short while and disappear in the universe for a long time. That celestial body is also mentioned and even depicted in many ways. The Aztec Sun stone is a warning for this event. Abundant and convincing evidence about this cycle of natural disasters and its timeline and many images are available in the eBook: "Planet 9 = Nibiru". Search: nibiru = 9

    I studied geology in college in 69-72 and the understanding on this was not as well-developed yet. This is the best explanation of magma differentiation and melting curves I've seen since then. This pulls it all together. Well done.

    I’ve Been looking for a. Experiment that shows a chemical to cool (both slowly and quickly) into a solid to show how different size crystals form. I liked your experiment with phenol salicylate. Not sure where I can find some. I’ve been experimenting with making candy with hot sugar, and cooling it in the air for a control and in the oven at its lowest temperature for the experimental conditions. Unfortunately haven’t had much luck with it. Just want to have something that’s accessible to everybody at home

    You start off with the grid with 4 Composition categories and the two textures and then jump to the two categories of intrusive and extrusive and never get back to Phaneritic and Aphonretic. you present some good information, but this misdirection was a source of confusion.

    • @rumanya
      @rumanya Рік тому

      My guess is phaneritic = intrusive and aphanitic = extrusive.

    • @CardThrower-rb6eg
      @CardThrower-rb6eg 4 місяці тому

      @@rumanya from what ive learned in my class, this is probably the case, as intrusive rocks have had time to grow their minerals' individual crystals, thus being larger and seen with the naked eye, and extrusive rocks being on the surface not having enough time, thus having minature crystals - aphanitic. i'm not sure if it applies to all types of rocks and if its a general conclusion but this is what i have been taught in my geology class and am just trying to apply that knowledge so i learn myself
