I have a big full 2 car garage I want to convert into an ADU. But the garage structure is attached to my neighbors garage with a wall separating them. Can I still do it?

If you have a 2 car garage with 2 parking spaces in front of it, can you designate one of those parking spots as the adu spot and would that fulfill the requirement?
I would have picked a property with a BUS STOP RIGHT IN FROUNT. You can legally not have a parking space if your on a regular route.
What about setback rqmts. for zero-lot-line homes?
Check with zoning and building dept in your county.

You forgot to say that your main house will become rent controlled which a lot of construction companies fail to mention.
Hi, this is the first time I’ve heard of this in all the research I’ve done into ADU’s. Can you elaborate or share a little bit? Would really appreciate the info.
i thought oregon was the only west coast state with inflation + 7% rent control?
Was there a change with owner occupied requirements
Some cities you can’t build an ADU on a rental property. It doesn’t make sense so the owner must live on site? In other words it must be your primary home. Is there any updates on this.
Well if you had the room and hookups you could easily have a double or triple axle towable ADU and still rent or use it.
Does statewide exempt mean it cant get denied if it meets these standards?

Thank you for this informative video, we are in the middle of building and ADU in Oakland right now, it’s been so difficult, but we are doing it. Who knows when it will be completed with all this rain…still too much red tape and far to expensive… hoping to be done in March, if we’re lucky?… we are building for our daughter, she’s a teacher and just cant buy a home here yet, still very expensive…
