CBSRMT • "Master Computer" • Himan Brown's Mystery Theater Revival • [remastered audio]
These episodes were selected by (Buster) Himan Brown in 1998 for his "revival" of Mystery Theater on public radio. He does the intros for all of these which were broadcast from 1998 thru 2000. I can only guess that the clean audio came from his own personal stash of CBSRMT tapes he had packed and stacked in his basement 'cause as far as I can tell, nobody else has 'em! CBSRMT recordings with crappy audio quality are all over youtube and the internet, but I'm only going to post the ones with good audio. I have about 160 episodes of (Buster) Himan Brown's episodes, and I'll post them a few at a time every week.
excellent as far as audio quality, as to the content . . . well, it's hit and miss. I'm not sure the method (Buster) Himan Brown used to choose stories for re-broadcast because (to me) some of 'em are kinda lame (like this one) I think I'm the first (or one of the first) to put these on youtube. By the way, I sure could use your help. All you ned to do is subscribe. It's free for you, your family and your friends! I'll keep it free only for you for the next 100 years!

The tale of a curse, and the target of this curse couldn't be more deserving! He's a scum-bag jerk who knocked up this decent college prof's daughter. The punk was also so very nice to provide her with a coat-hanger abortion, too, so she wouldn't ever get pregnant again. (Buster) Himan Brown does the intro for this July 1998 re-broadcast on NPR. The audio quality for his "revival" is excellent ...

Good ol' uncle Charlie (Cary Grant) has a problem . . It seems he loves to marry rich old broads for the dough & goodies that come with it, but he has to kill 'em 'cause he can't stands 'em . . . Which sounds fairly normal. I wonder where the problem is. This program is the 2nd time I uploaded it, as the art on the first one crumbled and desinigrated into tiny bits during transformation. Ingred Bergman and Joseph Cotten star in this radio adaptation of the film. It's another job well done by Cotten, and Bergman's pretty good too. Here's a bit of useless trivia: Joseph Cotten was a fave of 'Hitch' for both movies and radio plays. Cotten kept himself VERY busy throughout his career. He was an EXCELLENT voice actor for radio, starting with Orson (Swelles/Smelles) Welles' Mercury T...

I'm not sure where the film's actors were when Lux did this broadcast, or even Alfred Hitchcock for that matter. Oh well . . . Here's Joan Fontaine and Nigel Bruce . . . Nigel Bruce? The audio quality is fine for listening, but not good enough to properly remaster the sound like the others. This fine program is public domain, as are all the others. - - 2017 Charlie Stuckey - Unleash a virus tha...

GARY COOPER "Iron Man" Lou Gehrig in PRIDE OF THE YANKEES Classic Radio Theater

Here's Gary Cooper in a heart-tugging one hour audio drama from the "Lux Radio Theater." The audio has been cleaned up for much better sound quality than other's uploads. If you're not familiar with the story, it's about one of the N.Y. Yankee's greatest players (and hitters) "Iron Man" Lou Gehrig, and his bittersweet fairwell to all before he left to die (sorry, but that's pretty much the way ...

Hitchcock does the intros for this, while Joseph Cotten (one of his favorite actors) does the lead role. This one hour broadcast is from the Screen Director's Playhouse, which was a pretty good "Old Time Radio Theater" series. If there was ever a movie to be made into a great Classic Radio Play, "Lifeboat" is the one! Tallulah Bankhead (Dahhhling) is back, with JEFF CHANDLER and SHELDON LEONARD in the key roles. This came from the "Screen Director's Playhouse" expanded one hour episodes. It's a 100% free "Movie for your MIND" with no copyright issues. HORROR from Edgar Allen Poe starring 2001's Keir Dullea and produced by (Buster) Himan Brown. In 1998 he pulled out his stash of original tapes from CBS Radio Mystery Theater and they were re-broadcast. (I wish I knew where he put those tapes!) Edgar Allen Poe thriller from (Buster) Himan Brown's 1998 Mystery Theater Revival in clean, clear audio from Brown's personal stash of original CBSRMT recordings. There's no E. G. Bogey & bacall😊
Now come the bugs that the birds used to control.😅
Stupid ending!!
Thanks❤❤❤
Terrible music. Film is better. Gave up after a few minutes.
Presenter, robotic sounding twonk
There’s supposed to be intelligent but they are both as dumb as a plank.
Yay Charlie!!!
Ms Bankhead sounds well-oiled in this...
Bogie's awesome, but you cannot replace Kate. Greer's interpretation is grating, irritating.
You still with us?
Thank you so much 🦘
❤ Tremendous
Why is it titled Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds?
I didn’t enjoy this one. Too many liberties were taken with the story.
Wow. These radio drama of great films are lovely to listen to. Incredible writing and directing in both mediums . Exquisite acting. Shadow is one of my favorite Hitchcocks; I watch it often. But this treatment is fascinating and very smart. Brilliant opening act- the sense of time ; the sound effects and the suave villain Uncle Charlie - Who could be better at that in voice only than Cary Grant⁉️
The ending us cringe worthy I'm afraid. The rest is great.😊
Wow am I glad that women these days have more financial sense. I'd have scarpered at first discovering he lived by scrounging and lying
Cary Grant and his soon-to-be 3rd wife, Betsy Drake. It was a chance for Cary to express some of his darkness. They are very good together. Betsy wrote Houseboat as a vehicle for them both, but Cary replaced Betsy with his latest fling: Sophia Loren.
Wasn't Cary who made the change and he was furious when he heard.
Listened breathlessly......
Which year was this recorded?
Hey Charlie, sending greetings to you and Theresa. God bless you both🙏🌻 15/07/23 @ 03:08am

Haha same ...a lot is being regurgitated online to cover up history. The dead internet theory may hold water.

Thank you😊
I’m 43 now I still have this Cassette somewhere . Used to listen to it all the time !!!! Love the old radio shows !
so did i
Thank you 😊
This is one of my favourites...Cary Grant as the bad guy, he plays it well...listening 💃with fatty 😺 Good night/good morning and may you be blest🙏 14/02/2023 @ 00:15am UK
lol, love the "newspaper" articles on the cover. You're a man of many talents, until recently I had no idea they weren't simply the actual releases promos. This makes the experience even more enjoyable. We haven't heard from you are you well?
wow! Incredible!! Had no idea there was a show by this station's name, thanks.
Thanks for sharing this. I enjoyed the story. I also liked listening to the ads that were part of the download. Especially the one that advertised the RCA Victor TV. I think if the broadcaster knew the negative impact TV had on Radio, he would have been less interested in promoting it.
I really enjoyed this early version closer to the book. Thanks for posting!
I'll listen tonight. KEY LARGO is also a good radio play.
Hey ho fatty🐈and I💃have tuned in on a very cold night, but we are in a warm bed. Most of Britain is on strike, cost of living is higher than earnings... But guess what, God IS Good and knows All things. 🙏✝️ Charlie as always big thanks for your uploads. Love to you, Theresa 💐and the 'gang'. 16/12/2022 @ 20:25pm🇬🇧
Listening💃 with fatty🐈 on a frozen cold night❄️ Thank you Charlie, this was probably the scariest film I watched as a kid... This and Boris Karloff in his 1930's scary films🤣God bless you beautiful people listening around the world... As we get closer to giving of gifts to loved ones let's be reminded of the gift given to us... John 3 v 16 ✝️ 15/12/2022 @ 20.52pm UK.
Well I enjoy all those old radio shows...the blatant sexism is pretty hard to stomach
When this was produced there was no such thing as sexism
What do you mean? On the contrary ! An educated female doctor is standing up to a colleague who harasses her, and she trusts her own judgement and expertise.... How more feministic could you immagine her to be.......
I was indeed spelbound by this play! Isnt it so that half of the upper class New Yorkies have been analysed?.....
Hmm. Imagine the women who lived through it, tolerated it, failed to tolerate it and were punished for that. Forcing inferiority can’t have a good outcome on anyone involved; it inflates the ego of the allegedly strong and undermines the capable . Garbage in, garbage out. Look at me 2 and all these NDA signed by real victims and cunning volunteers. Where’s the good? Sexism continues because of the minds of men, limitations placed on and enforced ( but not always successful) submission by women. As a result you now have five disgruntled and loveless sexes and no guilt complexes at all just rage between the binary sexes - the two who are the source of all human life.
Couldn't listen! A very strange story. The music and the whole thing was awful! Sorry, not my thing.
This is always one of my favorite movies to come up on so interesting what people can do with great acting a great script and one setting
Still listening💃 with Fatty🐈✝️🙏 03/2022 @ 22:20. UK
I almost NEVER check this channel - but here you are again! When I created my channels, after a while I realized my Suspense & Escape channel was becoming more popular, so I kind of abandoned this one. Still, I'm glad to see you
@@charliestuckey-outtamymind4279 Heyho Charlie. Just starting night shift. 🙏💖💃🐈Fatty in bed

Gus voice sounds like a cartoon character called top cat .
There were some inappropriate words like calling a black man charcoal .
GET A LIFE, FRID, YOU SNOWKFLAKE. IT WAS 1950 FER' CRISSAKES! DIFFERENT TIME.
This was first broadcast in 1950. Society was different back then.
Thanks.
Mercedes mcCambridge!
What a performance by all, especially Tallulah Bankhead!
Out of date. World has moved on, whilst this drivel & it's mysogeny remains.
'How did the line: 'where's Joe--the colored man' get changed from 'have you seen Charcoal?'- movie version- Which came 1st? Aside that this is one of my Top 10 favorite films; am more locked into the uneasy sense of the presence of Banquo's Ghost that still so lurks with-in the American Political and Social Fabric: the Radio production more than the censors, may have allowed in the movie---to show the innate 'Prejudices, Myopic viewpoints, and Jingoistic speech' that helped to usher in the Concept and slogan of the 'Ugly American' though dressed-up 'likes they goin' to Sunday Church' with its 'folksy Patriotism' is in fact just the other-face-of-the-Coin of Economic, Social and Political Oppression that these Survivors are supposed to be antithesis. LoL....So what in the 70 plus years, in the World and the U.S. has changed.?
That was so great! Thank you!
