I am Brilly, the artist formerly known as Locked And Loading. An Educator, Director, and Digital Artist.
The McLaren F1
1 of 64 road versions. In my opinion the best care ever made.
The McLaren F1? Oh man, that car is like a legend in the automotive world. I mean, I still remember seeing it for the first time in Need for Speed, and it just blew my mind. It's one of those cars that doesn't seem real because it's so ahead of its time. And that central driving position? Genius. It's like sitting in the cockpit of a fighter jet, except you're tearing up the road. Plus, that BMW V12 engine? Pure music. And the way it hugs the road at insane speeds? Unreal. The McLaren F1 isn't just a car; it's a work of art, a testament to what happens when engineering meets passion.
Now let's talk about my passion. My lifelong love for automotive design sets the stage for an exciting adventure in the realm of car design. My next direction in art will take a stronger focus on automotive breathing life into concepts that transcend imagination.

That ZIP TIP is a gamechanger.

This video is going to blow up. Mark my words-timing couldn’t be better!
Agreed. Render Network is ready to launch
How LeBron James feels after winning the Olympics
I disagree here, you do not want static noise in animation.
Why? I don't want static noise in animation either but when using Spectral AI denoiser I noticed it can give more animated splotchy results within the render. So I check static noise only when using low samples and AI denoiser and then add animated noise in post on top.
the concept is baffling
Is there a way to do it without the post processing effects disappearing ?
i looking everywhere, we will never find out…😢
Thank you! You helped me with my project

i was trading RNDR but this video shows where it is used. just a quick note : if you use this network a lot it a s better option to buy RNDR from an exchange, put them in your metamsk wallet, and connect your wallet to it and spend RNDR s directly. this video was a year ago and RNDR was 2 USD. now as of july 2024 it is about 6 USD. if i am judging correctly you should be spending 3 times the fee that you spent in this video. if thats a case you can consider using RNDR s directly. by the way RNDR is moving from ETH mainnet to SOL mainnet and it will become RENDER so buy the correct one :)
@@Orkun-8080 RNDR token and RNDR credits are not exactly the same. It’s best using credits when you the RNDR network. At least for now.
wait...the car is....EMPTY!?!?!?! :)))
Not when it is driving, take a closer look. You drive the F1 from the center but you will see me in the drivers seat in the last shot.
That thumbnail i thought it was a photo WOW 😲 i love octane i my self I'm an Octane Blender user 🤓👍#keeprendering
Thanks! Love it, I want to jump into blender with Octane as well.
Thank you! been wanting to experiment with toon in octane but most tutorials are severely outdated!
You're welcome! I felt the same way. Outdated and not diving in deep enough to see that you can do more with it.
This is great. Thank you. Look forward to the follow up tutorial.
Glad you enjoyed it! The other videos are up, Links in the description.

Nice tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
This is one thing I wish was easier in Unreal this looks really easy to link up here
Yeah man. I feel you there. And this has been in the original release of toon in Octane so it’s not even a new feature. Redshift finally updated theirs and it’s basically what Octane has been able to do. But it just seems like all 3D softwares are neglecting cell and toon looks except for blender grease pencil… but artists want it.
Thank you! But the cube next to it, on the left, remained super grainy, so how do you clean that?
Got lots of info on that for you, check these out: ua-cam.com/video/gzaGhl4RXGo/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/H-4os9rA-K4/v-deo.html

Do you know how to do it in 2024 version? they replaced heightmap with stamp and it has much less options :/
Love it. Thanks a lot for the tip. Currently learning blender octane. I found you videos very easy to follow. Thanks a lot
Thank you! Thrilled I could help
@@Brilly_Yo oh men, I’m making a video as we speak, I’ll put it on my channel and tag you on it once it’s done ;)
the concept is baffling
Have you tried Drop and Render? Curious about your thoughts... It downloads automatically as they finish
I have not used it but based on the price calculator all of my jobs would take longer to render and cost more money for me to use that service over Render Network.
Awesome thanks a lot for sharing
Of course!
Generally all B&W images should have set Color Space to non-color data. After that channels like Opacity looks better also most of the roughness, bump images too.
Great to know
I would call this a "cheat" more than anything...You don't have to use thin wall if you just give the glass thickness. Then there will be no refraction issues and it will be more realistic
Yes, I have done both ways but as I mention in the video this method has the ability to render quicker with possibly less artifacts. Visually with how I set it up there was no visible difference but quicker render. No solution is best in every single case.
Why does this not show up on your channel?
Hmm was not aware
hacpaho
I would never advice using thin walls for anything other than soap bubbles or some sort of plastic that is ultra thin. A real windshield has depth, with real world depth the weird refraction will solve it self. Thin walls and fake shadows is a work around for lazy modelers but far away from realism
I appreciate your thought process on this but for me it is not practical to do everything physically based. I completely disagree with this being "lazy". It is all about problem solving to get the look you desire when you design. If the look needed requires a physically based solution great, if it does not than that is great too. There are pro's and con's to both.
@@Brilly_Yo well you flip a switch that is labeled "fake shadows" idk what else than lazy that is. these options purely exist because they break pbr as you dont get the look you expected. but instead of fixing it or trying to understand why it looks wrong they implemented a workaround.
I'm really loving these quick Octane power tips. Thanks Brilly!

Octane Jesus Dropped this technique a while back, cool exploration on the shapes of the lens though.
Ahhh! Just went and checked that out. Subtle difference on technique but major difference on tutorial time haha. Well now we have an under 60 second demo!
Is it possible to do it the other way around? Render only the background and transparent objects? Thanks!
Yeah, you would do it with object mattes
Did you have to buy 2 subs to Octane to run in C4d and Blender?
Octane is free for Blender users
@@Brilly_Yo It is? I have a sub - and got the plug from Otoy. How do you get it if you don't have a sub?
